Weeeeeeeeeellll...

You know those books that annoy you to death at times, but you for the life of you can't seem to stop reading because they're so captivating nonetheless?
Yeah? Well, this was one of those for me.

The premise of this novel was great. I loved the blurb and the beginning of the story. Roam seemed to be such an amazing heroine, extremely smart and mature for her 17 years, and I didn't even mind the impending love triangle because it seemed to be somehow justified – you know, true love vs. fated love. I can't exactly say I'm a fan of love triangles, but I can deal when they're handled sensitively. The way Kimberly Adams pulled it off in this book, though... I hated it.

It probably didn't help, either, that I never really warmed up towards West, and I was clearly rooting for Team Logan. So yeah, it didn't take me long to start resenting Roam.

I felt like all she did was cry (seriously, I'm surprised she wasn't all shriveled up from dehydration at the end of the book), vomit, faint, blush and bury her face in someone's chest (in exactly that order), while it was West's purpose to scream, snap, manhandle Roam and carry her around in his arms all the time. He was supposed to be this charming, older, alpha hunk, but really, he was just an unstable and creepy douche.
The writing was repetitive, rushed and in need of some editing (I did a word count on cry/cried/sob/tears, just for the fun of it, and added them together... 168 times, guys!)

There were so many things that peeved me, and yet somehow the story had me so engrossed that I speed-read it within a little more than one and a half days, which is why I'm adding half a "Kudos" star.

To be honest, I don't know yet whether I want to continue with this series. While I do want to know what happens next, I'm not sure I can endure more of the main characters' (to me) unappealing personalities.

Not your normal paranormal and doesn't involve vampires/angels. The story started off like a teacher/student relationship but the plot moved quite quickly and I was gripped. Love it when a book shocks me and this one had me gasping 'oh no' a few times especially the ending.

Camden has been friends with Logan since childhood then she meets West - this is the paranormal story of West, Logan and Camden and their previous lives and fighting to survive evil. I found the story slow going and hard to follow the plot till I got to approx. 80% of the book - now I'm hooked. Following on with "Fall" 2nd book in the series

Roam follows the story of 17 year old Roam Camden who is in her senior year of high school trying to get into the college of her dreams and dating her best friend her whole life Logan Rush.

Then she meets her AP World History teacher West Perry and there is more to him than just being very attractive. He and Roam are destined to be together, because their child will save the world.

Yup, I know it sounds very intriguing. West is an immortal and Roam has an immortal soul which means that West has been living for 600 years finding Roam in her every life and trying to keep her and their baby alive.

The reason being is because these two guys has always gotten to her before she can go into labor. This is the 7th and last time that Roam and West can try and save our world.

I very much enjoyed Roam. I have been spying on this series for a while and finally go around to reading it.

This story starts off as a YA novel and a teacher/student romance but it evolves into something way different. We learn about Roam's other lives, who she was, and how she was killed each time.

The book is around almost 400 pages but it didn't seem that long at all. I really enjoyed it and I love the topic of reincarnation.

Read it and give it a try.

This book was a free download, and what a find it was. This was a fantastic read. It was well-written, fast-paced, with very few typos, unlike a lot of other self-published books these days.
The characters were well-developed, and I found myself wanting to know each of them even more. The story was captivating from the very beginning. I love that Roam is an intelligent and rather mature character, despite her young age of 17. There is little teenage angst, which is atypical of other YA novels. The other main characters in the book, West and Logan, are really great as well, both strong, honorable, and selfless. Both worthy of Roam, despite their past histories.
The premise of the story, 4 individuals whose fates are intertwined throughout time, have 7 lifetimes to reach their goals. This book starts with their final lifetime. It was very interesting to get glimpses of those other lifetimes throughout the book. There is a huge span of time from the first lifetime to the last. History really comes alive through the author's portrayal of each.

I could not put this novel down once I started and can't wait for the next one.

My grade: B+

I think what I loved best about this series is how the author is able to take popular tropes from several different genres and make them work! These books are not only well written and engrossing; they also showed me (once again!) that there are good self-published authors out there.

This novel ended with a cliff hanger, but I was lucky enough to read all three of the books in quick succession. I remember thinking that I wasn’t ready for this story to end, and being happy that even though West and Roam get their HEA the author left plenty of room for there to be more books about the other characters.

One of my few complaints about this book was that I didn’t feel it was explicit enough with the relationship between West and Roam. The writing was excellent, and it made me sad that the author missed an opportunity to take on the complexities between the two main characters. Most of the time I’m more than happy with a fade to black or the briefest mention of sex, but in this case I felt West and Roam deserved more. (And if anyone else felt this way I’m happy to add that the author published a novella called West which tells the story of Roam from West’s POV and more than makes up for what is only briefly mentioned in this book!)

I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes romance, fantasy, and the paranormal. The story told here was able to delve into the fantastic while being grounded in our reality.

What would you do if you were seventeen and everything you believed in had to change to save the world? You would panic, just like Roam did.

Smart, focused, and college bound, Roam Camden has two goals: become a history professor and have a future with Logan Rush. Happy with her rosy future, she panicked when she touched West Perry, her history teacher. Forces had been set in motion and the fates of two worlds rested on her shoulders. West promised he could save her, but could he?

Handsome, resourceful, and smart,West Perry has a lifetime mission: protect Roam from the evil that stalks her. But over the centuries, six times he has tried and failed. This seventh life together is his final chance. Markings have appeared on his arm each time she's been reborn. Her markings have seared her flesh each time that they first touch. And each and every time, their eternal love has returned full force. Just how intertwined are their lives?

Bright, athletic and eighteen, Logan Rush has two passions: the Marines and Roam. In childhood, friendship flourished, in their teens, those feelings deepened. Planning a future with the service, Roam and marriage, he's confused when the overwhelming dreams come. Will the past collide with the present until nothing seems possible or real?

Will the evil one find and convince Logan to kill Roam?

Will West's knowledge and protection be enough to save Roam?

Or will her salvation come from an unlikely source?

This book weaves history, culture, and science into an engrossing tale of good VS evil. Well developed characters. Totally entertaining, real page turner. No emotions weren't employed reading about these characters.

I would highly recommend this book!

Excellent read!

What an amazing read. I had no idea I'd like a story like this as much as I did. I stumbled on this one quite by accident -- one of my Amazon freebies. It sat on my Kindle for a month or so as I watched the ratings stay consistently above 4.5 Stars. I just finished a bit of offbeat paranormal and was interested in a bit more. Boy, did this one fit the bill!

I loved the characters. The authors voice is unique and interesting. The story was developed fairly well. The only real issue I had was with the story. It fell apart a bit in the end. I didn't believe the average 17 year old girl would have such a wealth of historical knowledge. Nor did I buy the "insta-love" thing between Roam and West, but, it did fit the story, so I'll hang and not dwell too much on this particular element.

I'm ready for the next one. I borrowed the next in the series and plan to read on.

So, if you like a bit of reincarnation with an interesting twisted little time-travel tale woven in, then this will suit you wonderfully.

Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Words can't quite describe how much i loved this book. I used to love Reincarnation stories and would read them constantly but for the past couple of years i strayed away from Paranormal and would only read contemporary but i downloaded the sample on a whim and i am so glad i did i could not put this book down. I completely fell in love with West and Roam's story and stayed up all night to find out what happened. Half way through i downloaded Book 2 ready. Definitely one of my new all time favourite series.

Holy cliffhanger!

This book was recommended to me in a book club and I am so glad I decided to read it.
Time travel books are one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. West is completely swoon-worthy and I loved him he slowly fell in love with Roam even though he promised himself that this time he wouldn't.

Roam was a great character too--loved her strength and determination even as she faced something that most people would run far away from.

I really loved this love story and cannot wait for the next one!

My friend, Beth, suggested this book to me. Never would have picked it up on my own, but I loved it. My Amazon Prime membership allowed me to borrow the book for free (caution: I borrowed the first book and then was forced to wait to borrow the next book in the series because you can only borrow one book per calendar month). This book kept me interested the whole way through. I am so excited that it is now April so I can get the next book.

Just finished the first book in the Roam Series and I am just floored! I absolutely loved this story and found it to be so imaginative and engaging, that I hated when I couldn't read it. I liked West the moment he met Roam and felt from their first meeting they should be together, I liked Logan, but West was it! Kim took my breath away, especially with the last several chapters and I had tears streaming down my face. I love when a story can do that to me. I'll be reading book 2 VERY soon! <3 <3

West Perry is immortal and has spent lifetimes searching for his love. Their baby is prophesied to save the world. If he can keep them both alive. In each lifetime, he's found her, loved her, and she's died. This is his, their last chance. When he finds her in this lifetime, Roam is only 17, and she's in love with another. Still, fate won't be denied.

I liked this story with a few reservations. Character development. It's difficult to become invested in their outcome let alone a love triangle if the characters never let you know them. Let me get to know Logan. His introduction wasn't a good one. Rejection, rejection, move on, and then cheat. Make me believe West loves Roam and not their history. I was really bothered by his wife and daughter. It made it hard for me to believe in a timeless love if he could so easily love another. And Roam. She's supposedly brilliant and she was book smart but she lacked sense at times. Worse, she was weak. Woman up, pick a guy, and go. Choose for the right reason, love, not because of dreams or lust. Make me believe. And there's my biggest problem. I love a good prophecy. I enjoyed every single bit of this story where the prophecy was concerned. But I questioned the characters' genuineness. They never convinced me that their emotions were bona fide.

Roam by Kimberly Adams is a fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kelli Tager.

This is the first book of Kimberly’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I don’t usually read a lot of fantasy romance books, but this book pulled me in from the very beginning. I had to know what was going to happen with Roam, West, and Logan.

The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t much of a surprise since it is the first book in the Roam Series. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series Fall which was just released on July 8, 2020.

Kelli did an amazing job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I can’t wait to listen to more of her work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you like Fantasy Romance or Time Travel Romances.

Roam was a very frustrating read for me. The character Roam was very annoying to me and I felt like nothing was really developed so I didn't care about what happened to anyone. I just...everything was too fast and Roam was too wishy washy and not very smart. Some slight spoilers ahead (even though it is obvious from the start how everything will turn out).

So Roam....she was so annoying to me! One minute she is fine with everything, the next she is super hurt and angry, the next she is fine again, the next not so much, and on and on. I didn't get her. She was just all over the place! That and the book kept telling me how smart she is but man was she stupid! Sure she can study and does well at school, but that is just book smarts. She is not other smarts at all. She never can figure out what she feels, and when she does she changes her mind two seconds later and she just does whatever. So West the only one that knows what is going on with Roam. The only one. So what does Roam do? Just leaves things out when talking to him. I mean he is trying to save her from the bad guy so why does he need to know important details? He doesn't. Much better to keep things from him so he can't help you. Much better. Does she want to get killed again? It kind of seemed like she just didn't care, or was too stupid to realize West is her only hope of figuring this out. Annoying.

Then the main focus of the book I felt like was who should she be with, Logan or West? It was just...Logan I didn't really ever get to know. I wish we would have, I wish he would have been developed more so I would have cared what she chose. As it was we see them get together for no real reason except Roam doesn't want to lose her best friend. Fine, but I don't see the connection between them so...then West is introduced and instantly Roam is conflicted. What should she do? West shows up, is instantly attracted to him, then suddenly afraid of him, then okay with him, etc. Ugh. So yeah, West knows what is going on, but man is he sloppy. He said he was going to wait to bring her into all of this gradually over time, but what does he do? Accidentally touches her right away. Good job West. Way to just instantly keep moving the story along.

I didn't really see the connection between Roam and West either, besides a physical attraction. Roam keeps cheating on Logan with West, but then is still conflicted. Sorry honey, but what is the issue? What are you really conflicted about? You obviously want to be with West so...well this is where everything not moving at lightning speed and development would have been helpful. If I would have cared about the characters more I would have cared more what happened, cared who she ended up with. As it was I didn't really. Though I will say the first sex scene with West...so not good! He is how old, has slept with how many people, and he is that inattentive and uncaring about her needs? It was like he is a 15 year old boy who has never done this before and is fumbling his way through it. Not good. Not good at all.

So the main conflict seemed to be Logan or West, even though it is obvious from the start who it will be. There is a bad guy trying to kill her, but he didn't really seem that bad. It seemed like it would be pretty easy to catch him if everyone worked together. Roam was just so annoying in this book. It felt like she is soooo smart if she would just stop being so lame and stupid and think for a second she could come up with a great plan to defeat the bad guy. He didn't really seem to do that much and I didn't understand why he didn't try to kill her more often. Well then we wouldn't get to see Roam and West sleep together.

Oh and when Roam finds out what really happened with West and her soul in the time they are going back to and she freaks out it was so ridiculous! She says that the reason she chose to be with West and not Logan is that West is incapable of wanting to kill her, but Logan is. He might not want to right now, but he has in other lives so....it was just...that is one of the worst reason to choose to be with someone. Not I love them more, I need them, or even I like them more, no I don't think he is capable of killing me. Okay... He told you the story of your soul at that time and well...everyone can be pushed too far, especially if they are on drugs. Everyone is capable of hurting you, and obviously past souls can be very different from current ones. It just didn't like that explanation for why she was with West. It bugged me. I would hope for something more romantic, or really just something having to do with her feelings for the two guys. Oh well.

Overall I didn't enjoy this book. Roam annoyed me to no end, I did not like her at all, and I didn't really feel like I got to know either of the guys. The whole love triangle thing didn't work for me. She obviously liked West more than Logan so there was no contest. She kept cheating on Logan with West which didn't make me like her any more. I will not be reading any more of this story as I disliked Roam that much.

Having seen a recommendation for this book because of a trope I am interested in, I thought to give this book a chance based on the fairly interesting information accompanying it. Past lives and a love that can survive centuries is always a wonderful story. I felt that this book had the potential to be better but it was still quite good. I liked West's charm and confidence, Logan's loyalty and friendship, Roam's smartness and practicality. I did have a qualm with certain writing choices here and there, which is why I can't say I enjoyed it too much, but the introduction of a new concept at the end of this book has me curious to read more.

For close to seven centuries, West has found Roam's immortal soul time and time again and fallen for her. They have seven chances to prevent the end of the world, and the only way to do so is through the birth of their child. Just as West and Roam are two interconnected immortals, there exists their enemies, the Alters, one who is physically immortal like West, the other who lives countless lives like Roam. Roam already loves Logan but she can't deny what her past selves felt for West Perry. With their enemy getting progressively closer to killing her, and with this being their last chance, the stakes are ever higher.

The rest of this review contains spoilers and quotes from 'Roam'.

West Perry is an immortal who has lived for over six hundred years. As he waits for Roam Camden to be born each time, he lives his life in the moments in between. It is implied that West resents Roam the smallest bit since he has to find her again and again. And this time, before she is born in 1995, he's met a woman named Laurel and had a daughter named Violet. I am certainly curious to see the kind of love these two share/will share.

“I’ll never hurt you Roam. And I’ll never let anyone else hurt you. I promise you.”
I nodded, resting my head against his shoulder as he drove.
“I believe you.”

Now in 2012, Roam Camden has a wonderful sister in Morgan, and Logan Rush is both her childhood friend and boyfriend. I love how their story was narrated and it had just the right touch of cliché elements. Logan already seems wonderful, in the way he respects Roam's boundaries and how alike they both are. If West and Roam are going to pan out, I can definitely see a strong friendship between Roam and Logan again. Coming to West, he's joined Madison High School as the AP World History Professor, and is definitely equal parts charming and arrogant. I love how he never gives anything away. What is interesting is how, despite thinking him to be good looking, the connection between Roam and West is such that Roam actually feels she is afraid of him by the end of the class...and this is entirely new in any trope that deals with rebirth or past lives etc.

“It’s not your fault. The mind is a strange place.”

After a disturbing dream the first night, Roam is left to question many things. She is quite the practical person and wonders why she is dreaming about Mr. Perry. And the details of the dream only add to the confusion. She does what I would have done in her position, tried to interpret every aspect of the dream. She also can't help but be honest with West Perry when he confiscates her phone in class, which only startles him and makes him eager to leave, suggesting that she is remembering past memories perhaps.

“I’m someone you’ve known throughout six lifetimes. I’ve found you each time you were born again and explained this to you six times in the past. This time marks the seventh.”

Screw easing into this crazy world slowly. With just a single touch, a series of numbers appear on Roam's wrist. I assume that shows the location of the people hunting her, which is just superb, because why should life ever go well for the protagonists? Nevertheless, I have always loved the 'I will find you in each lifetime and make you remember' trope, so here we go.

“Our child, our baby, is prophesized to save this world. And I have failed six times.”
“Failed how?” I breathed, not comprehending.
“I’ve let you die.”

“I don’t choose you, Roam.
I find you.”

“You told me there were doors, which you would know about, and these doors would take us to our past lives and give us the opportunity to change the past.”

The idea of West being a physical immortal and Roam being an immortal soul is fascinating, just as it's fascinating that their enemies, the Alters, are also alike to West and Roam in this manner. The addition of the coordinates makes it all the more foreboding because the enemy is right there and we all know it for real. I am interested to know about Roam finding him the first time around, but we may not get around to it for a long time. And it's clear that there is no predestined need for them to love each other, he just finds her in each life and maybe falls for her, and this time, he doesn't want to get emotionally involved. If they succeed in preventing the end of the world, West can finally age normally, which is something that he wants.

Morgan has just started gushing about Reed and now I am almost sure that he is actually Troy, finding a way to enter Roam's life in a non-threatening manner and getting her loved ones to trust him before he kills her.

While I feel Roam may have solved the trick behind the numbers too quickly, I guess it's nice to see a character have such an analytical mind. The mirrors have been hanging around in her dream all these centuries, waiting until this last life so that the path to the door(s) may finally be revealed. The fact that they may have to go to Russia is astonishing, because I thought they wouldn't have to leave North America.

“Our destiny, our fates, are designed to form a bond. It is chemical, predetermined. Nothing can stop this. Nothing but you and me.”

“In the past, I’ve gotten distracted by loving you.”

“I will do anything to protect my family. And the family that I will have someday…with Logan.”

Troy Reed wasn't unexpected. Logan being one of the Alters wasn't unexpected. His love for Roam combined with how his dreams will eventually make him want to kill her will be an interesting blend. Now that Troy has found Roam, they need to find the doors more than ever and time travel to their past lives or whatever it is they have to do. While there is definitely something between West and Roam, I think there is a slow-burn in progress too, because he is determined to save her and not fall for her this time and despite what she might start to feel for him, she still loves Logan and wants a future with him.

“Your fate is mine, and mine is yours. It’s all prophetic, and only we can change it. I wanted to change it. I was trying to change it. But I’m not anymore. The possibility of losing you again scares me, Roam, but not as much as never having you…or never being with you again. Everything changed when I kissed you on the basement floor.”
Trembling, I steadied my breath as I met his gaze. “You want me? Even though…no good can come of us?”
He leaned closer, his lips touching mine as he spoke. “You have no idea how much good can come of us,” he hushed, sending waves of desire to steal my breath.

When I stopped holding West’s hand or letting him touch me for long enough time, my head began to clear, and I let the guilt sink in. I loved Logan. I would
always love Logan.

Well, that progressed fast. He is suddenly fighting for a future with her? I was hoping that there would be more content before we reached that point. Roam literally said goodbye to Logan an hour ago. And I don't know if the idea of sending Logan to Russia, where even Troy will be, is a good idea, but what can I do to change the plot of the book? I don't see what West and Roam can accomplish in their North Carolina cottage, and how easily Roam is ready to throw away what she feels for Logan, especially since she is telling him not to change and then lying to him about West. I can't imagine what her father and Morgan must be going through right now.

“Of all of the lives that we shared, the one here… in 1955… God, I loved you.
I felt his pain in each of his words. I tried to imagine loving someone and losing him, only to have to wait for him to be born again.
And hoping that you’d
love him again.

“No one else matters now, Roam. Only you and me.”

This angst and sadness is what makes this trope so special. It's a lovely pain. But I think the author messed up in one regard. Before turning in for the night and dreaming about Logan and Troy and what they did to her in a past life (which was horrible), Roam seemed unsure and reluctant to take the next step with West. She was still feeling guilty over what she was doing with West and trying to tell herself that she still loved Logan, while still not making any concrete choice. Suffice it to say, she was unsure. After waking up from the dream, it just seemed like West just whispered romantic words and somhow Roam was ready to sleep with him all of a sudden and that just didn't seem believable. And as sweet as it is that the pregnancy will keep her nightmares away, just because it is a part of the prophecy, doesn't mean that they should have a kid. I don't think Roam has seriously entertained the thought of being a mother, other than seeing what her past versions felt when they were pregnant or were with West. She is just seventeen and needs to really think about this, in my opinion, not chalk it up to imminent doom or a prophecy to save their world.

“I love you, Roam Camden. And I have for my entire life.”

And in the three days they spent on the cottage, I am glad Roam realises she loves West and that while she loves Logan, she can't fully trust him yet, but there is not a single self-defence lesson and I am just dreading the next time she faces Troy.

I love you, Roam. I have loved you since the beginning of our time. If there is a way for me to come back to you, I will.
I swear to you that I will.

The memories of 1977 aren't pleasant between West and Julie (as Roam was known in that life). West planned things elaborately well making Roam think that Logan had left, not telling her that Troy would come to their hotel room. He hadn't expected Troy to bring Violet into the picture, which might have put a damper into his plans, but Logan was there to get Roam and Violet to safety. I do love Logan, he is a wonderful friend through and through.

The world that had made no sense to me only moments before closed in, and I finally began to understand my reason.
My purpose.
Oh, West…
It’s our baby.

Since this book was just in Roam's perspective, we don't know the details of what exactly happened with Troy and West and whether both somehow managed to survive. The concept of two worlds can help to further the plot in the successive books, with Violet trying to find her mother and maybe Troy and West are also there. Saying that Roam's baby is Logan's will make it difficult to come out with the truth in the future when West will inevitably return, so I don't know how they will deal with that. I quite liked this book. Onto the next one.

5/5

There are so many great books out there today and I can't count the number of times I have picked up a book and read it from cover to cover, only to say after "Why did it take me so long to read this?" ROAM is one of those books for me. I had seen it a couple times on amazon, and even saw some mentions through out Facebook but for some reason I was in no hurry to pick it up. This is a sad mistake because this book, the first in the series, is abso-freaking-lutely amazing. I want to shout about this book because it deserves to be read. What finally prompted me to read it? Well truthfully I was reading an Author Spotlight that author T.K. Rapp did on Mrs. Stredronsky. You can read it yourself here:

http://modestview.wordpress.com/2013/...

As I am being throughly honest it was this part of the spotlight that made me decide I needed to go and get the first book ROAM

"My husband, Brian, is so supportive. He’s an avid reader, like me. He’s also SUPER sarcastic, tactless, and brutally honest. Did I mention he’s a Marine vet? And a stand-up comedian? **long low whistle** yeah, not the best audience as your first critic. I had no idea what to expect when he began reading Roam. A few chapters in, he turned to me and said, 'Holy shit, Kimee, I can’t believe you wrote this. I keep reading and forgetting that it’s you!'"

Yes, that right there resulted in me going right over to amazon. I wanted to witness her writing myself and have that "Holy shit" moment. Guess what. . I did. It was a total "Holy shit why didn't I read this sooner?!!" Then I quickly proceeded to read it instead of doing homework, I might have also pushed off feeding a kiddo a time or two until I couldn't any longer and I reluctantly put down the book.

This book is extremely well written, throughly thought out and well developed. I loved the character of Roam because even though I thought she was going to be a bit of a weak character in the beginning pages from her apparent neediness with Logan, she totally blew me away. She was intelligent and quick tongued. She also asked the right freaking questions! So many times the female leads never ask questions about why and how things are happening, they just go with it. Not Roam. This meant all the question I developed were throughly answered (well except for the coordinates, I am still confused on that but still). I loved that Kim thought to answers those through Roam, it made me love her even more and respect her even though she was only 17. Her intelligence added to her maturity and suddenly I was forgetting her age.

West, oh my what can I say about West. He is flawed and real. I wasn't sure how I was going to like him when things first started out but quickly developed an attraction to him. He admired Roam's intelligence, and was protective of her. He had attraction to her and passion and I loved reading his reactions to her apparent intelligence.

Supporting characters are amazing. Their presence adds to the story and supports it and I would not change a thing about them.

There are twists and turns that made my heart break and speed up. I loved the historical facts woven throughout the story that showed the thoroughness of Kim's writings and gave it even greater depth.

This is a paranormal book unlike any others I have read. A fresh and unique story with great characters that will leave you wanting more. The great thing about it all is the series is complete, so there is no waiting for the next book. I already have the next two books waiting for me on my kindle.

I don't know how to say much more without giveaway bits of the story. I promise, you will get lost in this book. A definite must read!

3.5 INEVITABLE STARS

Because it was inevitable that I was going to like this. Fated lovers, a prophecy to kill for, elements of time travel and let’s face it, I tuned out after ‘fated lovers’. I love a good old doomed romance.

The snapshot
Roam Camden is an ordinary high school student. Valedictorian with a perfect GPA, a perfect boyfriend and a perfect life plan, i.e. one that doesn’t involve her boyfriend having dreams about killing her, a teacher who has spent his entire existence loving (and losing) her, time travel and a baby who will save the world. Except that is exactly the life she ends up with.

The good
The book moved at breakneck pace; it’s only a few chapters being starting the book and Roam learning all of the above. This is both a pro and a con, because while the pace kept my attention from wandering, it also detracted from the emotional punch the book could have had.

Roam isn’t your typical ass-kicking heroine. She compares herself to one of those fainting goats that faints all the time, she cries a lot and she can’t fight. But what she lacks in knife skills she makes up for in brains, and bravery, and the odd terrible joke:

‘ “The past is obdurate”. Stephen King. The past refuses to be changed, West. I am afraid that once we get to whatever time we’re going to, the inevitable outcome will chase us around. You know, like the kitchen knives in the Final Destination movies.

But, romantic that I am, the star of the book was the romance. It wasn’t in the dialogue or the actions or anything definable but just the way that Roam gravitated to West and West orbited Roam, like, well, the destined lovers they are.

“Everything changed when I kissed you on the basement floor.”

“No matter what happens, West... I just want to remember this. This moment. I want to dream about this.”

The bad
As much as I appreciated the fast pace, I felt like some things moved a little too fast (you know what I’m talking about). I felt like Logan didn’t play a large enough role. I felt like the dialogue could have been tweaked and I feel like the plot could have been more solid. But there is no denying that I did love this. So forget the bad stuff, just read it!

Who I’d recommend the book to
Romantics who like their love story with a side of sci fi/supernatural. Because this book is first a romance and maybe thirdly an action/sci fi.

DNF at 79%

I love Kindle Unlimited because it allows me to try new authors. A friend of mine mentioned this author and since her newest book wasn’t out yet, I gave one of her old books a go. I didn’t even read the premise, I just knew it was a fantasy book.

As I started the book I soon realized I didn’t understand what was going on. It was really descriptive and the author gave a lot of detail on Logan and Roam. I was confused because I didn’t think Logan was the Hero of the book.

I finally read the premise and realized it gave away the entire mystery of the book. Sure, it wasn’t such a big mystery, but a good 20% of the book was presented in the summary. So I tried to overlook it, even though I knew to focus on West, not Logan.

I guess I felt like the relationship between West and Roam felt kind of displaced. I mean, Logan loved her, his entire life and waited for her. She seemed really immature and maybe she was since she’s only 17. I felt like Logan was a stand-up guy and shouldn’t be treated the way he was treated.

I tried to get into the storyline but the world-building was hard to follow. I still didn’t get the whole, numbers, alter and six lifetimes? Every time they author kept on explaining what things meant, I kept on re-reading trying to figure it all out.

I also didn’t like the dreams. It was too confusing. Why not do flashbacks?

I liked that the book become more dialogue based and the pace was got faster, but I didn’t feel the chemistry between West and Roam. Yes they were hot, but there wasn’t any connection.

The book was all over the place for me. And I knew this was a 3 book series, so I felt like it was best to just say stop and try another book.

I absolutely love this book! I found it on Amazon and read the brief description and it caught my attention. I was hooked from the prologue. The depth of the characters came through easily for me and I loved the way the story unfolded. I didn't have a problem at all with Roam's age being 17 and West 10 years older (like my husband and myself). Once you begin reading, you realize that Roam is not only a very mature, smart and witty 17 year old girl, but she is an old soul. She and West have been through centuries together (under very tragic circumstances) and I felt as if she was truly older beyond her years in 2012.
I have read this book now 3 times (yes 3) along with 'FALL' and am satisfied that I have. I have picked up on events that I overlooked the first time around. I was so captivated and sped through the pages that I needed to go back and re-read dates and places and explanations. This was no fault of the author's.... I just couldn't read fast enough.
Roam has been through so many unbelievable events in the 2 months that she has met West, yet she still has a sense of humor. The witty banter between her and Logan were a delight, and came at the right moments.
I have a new favorite author!

I am usually not a fan of the paranormal genre. I got the entire series for free on amazon and so I gave it a shot. Well, I can definitely say I do not regret picking up these books. HOLY COW!

First of all, I was a little freaked out by the whole student/teacher relationship but then I couldn't help but imagine Ezra and Aria (Pretty Little Liars) and then I was okay. A little part of me was really sad though because despite all of West and Roam's lifetimes together Logan was still a sweety and I have a thing for the best friends since childhood romance.

Either way, I could not put this book down. I loved the little snippets of history, the characters were all really strong and didn't sulk in their own misery, AND the sex scenes were quick and to the point without dragging on for 5 pages about who stuck what where.

Such an amazing book! I loved it! I don't like paranormal often, but this one brought me in hook line and sinker! I couldn't believe she was a new author. Dying in anticipation for her next book and found it just yesterday and finished yesterday, aaahhh so so good, the cliffhangers, I can't believe I'm saying this are really good ones as opposed to making you angry where the author leaves you, if that makes sense.

OMG, devoured this in days, would have read straight through if didn't have to earn a living :-;

Yes, the whole prophecy/time travel premise is bit out there, but the characters are so real and lovable. I could not put this down and am now 25% through the 2nd book because I couldn't bear to leave this world. Can't believe I had the good fortune to grab all 3 ebooks in the series up for free.

Ms Stedronsky, you rock!

Absolutely fantastic, and completely not what I expected! It's billed as a young adult novel, but it deals with some heavy issues. The characters are interesting and full of depth, and the author has them deal and cope with situations in a very realistic way.

Highly recommended, and I will definitely be reading the next book!

Really interesting idea. West is immortal, Roam is an immortal soul, reborn after she dies. Together they'll have to save the world. They have seven tries, and have failed six times so far.

The ending of the book lets you decide whether to read the rest or not. There's enough closure, that if you didn't want to read the next book in the series, you wouldn't have to continue.

I started reading Roam a few days ago and I haven't been able to stop reading this series. I am totally in love with it. This book is full of action and is intense. The romance is emotional and angst. I really like West, Roam and Logan. Kimberly Stedronsky is an incredible talented author. She is now one of my favorite authors and I cannot wait to read more of her books.
