Return to Irrawaddy. A good read. This was another long awaited read that I kept in the shelves idle. Thought to read with time and enjoy every bit of this. Just as I did for the case of "Riddle of the Tsangpo Gorges." This book although smoothly flowing like a big placid river near the planes that Irrawaddy is, somehow missed the treat that is present in the other book. This one start less. The book chronicles the flower collection journey by the author with his wife in the 1950s across the remote hilly regions of North Eastern Burma and and south eastern Tibet, from where the main head water streams of the Irrawaddy flows. The entire first clad region is one paradise for plant and flower lovers. Ironically the book in most parts brings to me only some Latin names of pants and flowers without their beauty and flavor. However the nature, hills, rivers, lives and culture are vividly presented by the author throughout the book.
