A well rounded collection, including a few poems that have since been converted to songs and have lost their full form. The notes are good and informative. If you want to buy a single poetry Anthology to have on the shelf then this is a decent choice.

My Thoughts:
The blurb just about says it all. The editors have divided the selected poems into sections such as Tell me a tale; Magic; War and death; and Bedtime. I was delighted to find some of my al time favourites in the collection such as The Dong with the luminous nose and The Owl and the Pussy Cat by Edward Lear; I wandered lonely as a cloud by William Wordsworth; Matilda who told lies and was burned to death by Hilaire Belloc; Kubla Khan by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, The Lady of Shalotte by Lord Alfred Tennyson and William Blake’s Little Lamb and The Tyger. It’s a fairly comprehensive collection, something for everyone and as usual you can’t please all of the people all of the time – where was The Pobble who had no toes?
If you are wondering about the strange spelling of iF it is because the poetry collection started out as a iPhone application, so the title reflects the original medium.

What an odd duck this is. Lovely light spot illustrations, tasteful layouts, friendly introductions to the poets and poetic techniques -- and a grand breadth of voices. But who is this for? I'm afraid its grandness may be its undoing. Some of the poems are for the very young and some only for adults. The list of poetic terms is for an elementary-aged student. Maybe I just don't get anthologies. Or at least not this one.

Love the illustrations, great collection of famous and lesser known poets/poems. Like the way the poems are organized by topic-love, friendship, humor, growing up, etc. Good intro to poetry.
