I tried two times to like this book and it just did not happen. It was like reading a bad Harlequin crammed with every single romance trope known to man. I kept turning the page, not because it was an enthralling read, but to see what else the author tried to fit in the book.

After this, I just couldn't finish the book.

I'm a sucker for a love story and this is exactly that!! I really enjoyed this book. I got it free but would pay for it and will recommend it.
I enjoyed that the Rock Star and Heroine (Parker& Bella) were both a little older than normal. It was also great that their story started out a bit back to front. I actually cried at this because they are such believable characters and you felt the hurt that they were going through.
I would love to read more about Bella and Parker and would like it to be a little bit longer this time.
Good book worth a read.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews that Taste of Love is similar, if not the same as "Table for Two". I've read both books and the only difference I can find is the names of the characters in each book have changed. Oh, and yes, it is written by different authors?

Funny, that even thought both books may be one and the same, I still prefer the original version (Table for Two).

I give this book 3.5 stars because even though I liked it a lot, there was no originality to its storyline.

I am a romanceaholic and this book was recommended to me and was freebie..I would of quite happily paid for this book, it was a great romance book with ups and downs and some hot scenes..my only complaint was that it was too short..I would love to see what happens to Bella and Parker next as you got totally engrossed in the story and it was a real page turner..fab for us hopeless romantics.

A very quick cute read, although I do wish Parker had a bit more badass in him.
Not a cliffhanger :)

It’s a waste of everyone’s time. The book starts out him complaining that he’s a thirty year old man and won’t sing a song that sounds like teenage love but yet he acts like a fucking child with the constant temper tantrums.

The scene where he’s screening at her asking if she knows who he is gave me such an ick I could just picture this thirty year old man stopping his foot with a curled lip and folded arms.

I downloaded "Table for Two" back in 2012. It's been hiding on my Kindle for almost 10 years. It took me a bit to warm up to Bella and Parker. Parker really was not my cup of tea for at least half of the book. In the end, Bella and Parker's story was sweet and total mind candy.

Isabella, chef and owner of her upscale restaurant "Tigerlily", is a driven perfectionist. Her restaurant is a year old and is the talk of the town.

Parker, rock star god and womanizer, is recording another album and is getting ready for another tour when his mother asks him for a favor. He reluctantly accepts to take his mother's friend's daughter on a dinner date at Tigerlily. The girl talks non-stop and proceeds to get louder and louder at the restaurant. Parker can't wait for the date to end. Why can't she just shut the hell up?!

Isabella's manager and best friend, Dylan, rushes to Isabella with a problem. One of the customers in the restaurant is talking so loudly that it's disturbing the other folks trying to enjoy their expensive meals. What does she want him to do? She tells him to discreetly suggest a table by the fireplace, which is more cozy, and that drinks are on her at the surrounding tables. When Dylan tries to remedy that situation, Parker gets pissed and demands to see his boss as he's storming through the kitchen doors.

Isabella goes toe to toe with him while he says intimidatingly, "Do you know who I am?!" She has no clue until he fills her in. She tries to be diplomatic, but in the end it becomes a pissing contest between the both of them. He abruptly leaves.

Dylan and her other bestie, Jason, decide she needs to go out. They finally convince her to go to the club with them after Jason says he scored access to the VIP lounge. They cajole Isabella into drinking and she gets wasted. She begins dancing and grinding against a tall, muscled hottie and by the end of the night, they end up messing her bed sheets up royally. The next morning is when all the fireworks start going off...and not in a good way.

There is so much more to this story and I can so see this as a made for TV movie! Great, gread read!

Mature situations and graphic sexual content.

First Thoughts:
I've be re-reading books that I've given four stars to. This book I read in March 2013, so quite a bit ago but I always remembered the plot which I reckon is a good sign for how good the book is and I enjoyed it now as well.

What Is It About:
Isabella is the owner of a popular restaurant Tiger Lily. One night, there'a particularly loud woman at one of the tables so she tries to discreetly move the couple and states that it'd be more romantic. Unfortunately, the man is offended and begins yelling. That man is Parker, a famous rock star that pulls the whole "Don't you know who I am?"
After that event, they both go to a club (separately) to relax and they end up having a one night stand but they don't recognise each other until the next morning. It takes two events to bring them together; a life-changing one and a traumatic one.

What I Liked and Didn't:
I like their relationship- the love/hate relationships in books tend to be really passionate and this fits that bill completely. Parker, who could be kind of a dick, had moments of being really sweet like when he got Isabella DVDs and food after the traumatic event. I liked Bunny, she's a lovely yet nosy person so perfect for a Mum then.
I did feel like the secondary characters could be more prominent, Jase and Dylan were the only noticeable ones after Bunny and that's only because Dylan was added to try for a minor love triangle. Half way through the book it did start to become quicker, it was more rushed so I think that the first half was the well written section.

Final Thoughts:
This was still a great read but it was missing a certain something, I don't think that I can keep it at four stars. I happily give it a good three stars.
Would I recommend this? Yeah, it was a nice read although the restaurant aspect made me starving when they described the food.
Will I be reading more of Alexis Lauren's books? Maybe, it'll depend on their plots not the author

This was an interesting story, and by that there were times I really wanted to kill Cameron but other times he was just funny as hell, "I'm a man, Riley! If I'm going to sing about a woman it's going to be about us effing or something." Then there were times that he was really funny, "you're missing the point! I'm too old to be singing the bubble gum s***." Madison has a temper and I was glad that she stood up to Cameron, "well, you're the only one I've been with in a really long time, and I'm sure this was no 'Immaculate Conception,' so that leaves just one conclusion." And then there were times Cameron was such an a**, "yeah, and I've never heard that one before either. Get real. It's the same old story I hear time after time. If you're even pregnant, it's not mine, so forget the whole extortion thing." You just have to love to hate or hate to love the boy.

This story is about Cameron (rock star) and Madison (restaurant owner) and how their lives entwine - sometimes by manipulation by others and sometimes by fate.

It is funny, fast-paced and punchy. Cameron plays the "Do you know who I am? I'm a rock star!" card a bit too much at the beginning but this just makes him seem nicer when he actually calms down a bit. Madison is the hard-working, working to a schedule every day restaurant owner who learns how to relax and enjoy herself a bit more. A perfect match although it may seem unlikely to begin with.

Funny supporting characters - LOVE Chase! Every girl should have a Chase in their life.

Recommended for a steamy, fast-paced, funny book.

This story had potential and first few chapters were gud and I expected a gud gripping story..... What got was a headache. Why? Bcs the POV kept jumping from ppl to ppl, half the time I had to go "wait? Who is thinking/saying this?" I mean did we really need to know what Bunny was thinking? Or Abby? NO!

What happened to Jason? He disappears half way thru and we never get to hear what happened to his relationship. He was interesting! I couldn't connect with the characters nor did I believe their "strong" love/connection.

It took me a few hours to finish, Avery small book but nothing abt this book will I remember in a few weeks.

This book had a strong plot however the whole book was too rushed. The writing was poor. It just gave me more reasons as to why I hat third view POV's. The characters were rushed, writing was rushed, story was rushed and the ending was the worst part of it all because it was so rushed!

The question is why did I give it 3 stars instead of 1?
Well, because I truly felt that there was a good story there if only it would have been developed a bit more.

I will not be reading this book again.

It took me a while to get into this book, found the writing a little slow and frustrating, skimming through passages occasionally. Needless to say it was a short story and easily read in a few hours. Parker is a rockstar and Isabella the owner of a popular restaurant. This is more of a romance than story about a rockband but does have a HEA.

Disappointed with this book. A rather waste of my time reading it. I dont usually rate a book lower than 3 stars, or even comment that its a waste of time because I know how hard it is to write a book. But this one is really...... The whole plot if messy, if not predictable. One moment it's bella's thoughts, another moment it's Parker's thoughts, and there's even his mother, Bunny's thoughts.

Not a bad book. Cute story that could use some editing. No major grammatical stuff but I did not need to keep hearing how Bella's favorite thing to do was greet customers. Just by her going and doing it regularly showed me she enjoyed it.

Meh! I liked the book but it had so many more possibilities than what it was. I didn't quite feel the connection with Parker and Isabella. But the idea of the story was good and it had some good parts within it.

I think the author needs to concentrate more on evoking the emotions of the characters rather than listing every minute of the days, including pee breaks. The story often felt like a running list. Nice idea though.

Awful, awful writing. I barely got 20% into this and gave up. The dialogue was kind of...robotic and I had no interest in even seeing if Parker and Bella got together after their one night stand. Glad it was free, that's for sure.

I highly enjoyed this book as it has a great, fast-paced storyline. Cameron is a dream rock star but if you read the book you'll realise that there's something deeper to him than the tabloids present.

A big, fat DNF for me! I just couldn't get into it! The writing was very stilted, especially the dialogue, and it just didn't "hook me." Story line probably would have been ok, but was ruined by the awful writing.

Hot sex nothing explicit or dirty. There's kind of a twist off at the beginning which seems to cause everything to start out backwards.......read the rest on my blog iloveladyporn.com
