A thorough overview of the stories behind the museum and art of the Musée d’Orsay. I particularly enjoyed the short essays that talked of the shifting trends throughout the times, the relationships the artists forged, Orientalism, the attitudes towards female artists, the disparity between the Academy and the Impressionists. Very informative and educational.

A great collection of essays, stories, descriptions and biographies about art pieces and their artists which are part of the collection of Musée D'Orsay.

I loved this because it gave me a lot of context for all the art pieces there. The bool is about 20 years old, but that isn't an issue when visiting the museum.
