Once bitten . . . never shy.

Since being Turned, teenage vampire Moth has been trying to get to grips with her life as one of Boston's newly 'undead'. But her dangerous and powerful Maker, Theo, needs her to do more to prove herself . . . The task? To retrieve the ashes of an important master vampire. The catch? The funeral urn is currently being kept in the apartment of a vampire hunter with a notoriously high success rate. But when Moth comes face-to-face with the hunter’s young son, Jace, who will come out on top?

British writer of fantastical things.

THE IRON WITCH, THE WOOD QUEEN & THE STONE DEMON make up my YA contemporary fantasy trilogy for Flux in the US and Random House in the UK. It's about alchemy, dark elves, and a girl with magical iron tattoos. FALLING TO ASH (September 2012), began a new series for Random House UK about an ass-kicking teen vampire called Moth. You can read more of Moth's adventures in her very own webcomic: www.mothtales.com

In my varied career I've been a professional Tarot reader, a college counsellor, a dating agency consultant and a bookseller. Ever since I was six years old what I really wanted to be was Wonder Woman, but have instead settled for being a writer which is the best job of all!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I adore Moth. I completely love this introduction to young vampire Moth, hunter Jace, and their world. I decided to reread this short before starting the first full length Moth book, 'Falling To Ash' and it reminded me exactly why I was desperate for such a book after I first read this a year or two ago, whenever it was! So excited to begin Falling to Ash next!

Beautiful book that explains adaptation in a scientific and poetic way.
