Per quanto i primi due capitoli siano sempre sul filo della solidità, hanno una certa attenzione verso il materiale storico, oltre a porre le basi per un finale previsto coi botti. Non negativo, ma l'ultimo delude le attese, spesso forzando i risvolti, ignorando lo sviluppo ulteriore dei personaggi e affidandosi ad alcuni elementi fuorvianti. Tutto ciò demolisce l'interesse per una rilettura futura di questa mini-saga.

Un desenlace apropiado para la serie que te hace meditar sobre el cruce de culturas y el impacto de esto en el futuro de la civilización. Ya sea impuesta o adoptada, la vida en Perú cambió radicalmente tras la conquista, siendo los protagonistas de la serie un punto medio entre esta mezcla cultural.

De la Calea a mers fără oprire la adăpostul întunericului, pentru a evita valul nesfârşit al războinicilor adunaţi de Manco şi de Villa Oma.

  De două-trei ori s-a rătăcit, prelungindu-şi astfel drumul. Cu toate acestea, mânia şi durerea i-au grăbit pasul, interzicându-i orice odihnă.

  Abia acum, când se ghemuieşte la poalele zidului înalt, încălzit de soare, simte foamea şi oboseala ce-i înţepenesc membrele. Totuşi, nici o clipă nu se gândeşte să meargă să caute puţină hrană. Privirea îi rămâne aţintită asupra porţii canchei. După, va avea destul timp ca să mănânce şi să bea, desigur dacă acestea vor mai avea vreun sens.

First time reading about Peru and the history behind the foundation of Peru's capital under Spaniards' invasion. It is not really a historical book tho, much more on the romantic side. Normally, I really like historical romance but this one took me around 1 month and half to finish so really not my cup of tea. Also, I would recommend to read the first 2 books before grabbing this third book of the series not like me who did not understand what is going on in first few chapters and because I thought it will be purely about Machu Picchu!! (should not judge the book by its cover!)

Some historical names that are worth digging deeper here: Francisco Pizarro, Alejo Garcia, Manco, Paullu and so more.

Mi dispiace davvero tanto che una trilogia partita così bene abbia poi perso forza e valore lungo il percorso. La storia della caduta dell'impero Inca per mano dei conquistadores è descritta mirabilmente e la storia d'amore tra Anamaya e Gabriel aggiunge pathos ed immedesimazione ad essa, ma il tutto poteva tranquillamente essere riassunto in un solo libro, il secondo e il terzo risultano noiosi, ripetitivi e forzati.
Il finale di per sé è adeguato alla storia, ma non coinvolge perché lo si raggiunge stanchi ed annoiati.

Can't believe I've had this Incan Pocahontas trilogy wasting space on my shelf for so long. The last volume could fit into two chapters, and no plot would've been omitted. I guess it was one long-ass closure, too bad the first two books didn't engage me as a reader.

It had been a bit since I read the second book in this series so maybe that made me a little distant from the events in this story but I felt this was more of a romance at times between Anamaya and Gabriel rather than focusing on the final moments of the Incan Empire.

This final chapter in the saga of the Incas continues with the continued and growing Spanish occupation of the Inca Empire. Captain Francisco Pizarro and his Spaniards are at odds with each other as bands of conquistadors are raping, pillaging and destroying villages in spite of gold being gathered and mined. The Incas rebel and the battle for the survival and future of the Incas begins. Against this backdrop, Gabriel and Anamaya continue their relationship in spite of threats against them. The new and young Emperor, Manco has Anamaya is at his side as he tries to defend his kingdom. Much of the novel deals with Anamaya trying to convince that through Gabriel, the Incas can negotiate with Pizarro. But, the ferocity of Pizarro's men stops them at every step. Gabriel also tries to show that not all Spaniards are light-skinned devils. The climactic choice that Gabriel and Anamaya must make will swing the pendulum. Loyalty or love is the choice. This last book in the trilogy has more Inca mysticism and Catholic faith issues but there is still plenty of action, romance and adventure here. The author successfully manages to tie up all the loose ends and ends on a note of prophetic justice.
