Celia Correas de Zapata (n. 9 de octubre de 1935, Mendoza) es una escritora, académica, y poeta argentina, siendo además una destacada estudiosa de la historia de las escritoras latinoamericanas. Hija del destacado Edmundo Correas y nieta del célebre Juan de Dios Correas, ambos muy importantes en la historia de su ciudad natal: Mendoza. Es profesora de literatura en la Universidad Estatal de San José, en California.

Nacida en Argentina, actualmente reside en California. Ha editado, entre otras, la antología Short Stories by Latin America Women: The Magic and the Real con una introducción de Isabel Allende.

Preciosidad de libro.
Nos lleva a poder conocer de forma más íntima a Isabel Allende,no la vemos solo como la gran escritora que es sino como el ser humano,esa madre,esposa,hija,abuela con errores y virtudes,conocemos sus más íntimos secretos desde su nacimiento hasta la publicación del libro Afrodita,existen varios capítulos dónde nos habla de cada uno de sus libros,su proceso de escritura,publicación y en qué etapa de su vida privada se encontraba.
Es una joya de libro,basada en entrevistas a la misma Isabel Allende por una amiga cercana (la autora del libro),por ello es como si se leyera otro libro de Isabel,me encantaría que existiera la continuación de este libro hasta la actualidad.

I am fond of reading writers' biographies. It makes me familiar with their lives, their experiences, their character, thus their possible motives. In short, it makes me understand their work better. This biography -for once more- has not disappointed me. It was interesting, well written, lively and helpful -especially for a woman writer like me.

I'd all but forgotten about this book, not because I didn't enjoy it (quite the opposite) but because I was so busy for years after. When I would reach for another novel by the remarkable Isabel Allende, I would often wonder more about the woman herself. I read this during my thirties when life was taking me in many different directions; learning of Allende's experiences and charisma brought a greater depth to what I wanted from life. Of course, this is an exceptional companion piece. I urge you to read this in addition to Allende's numerous novels and memoirs. It's been years since I've read this biography, and I remember it with great fondness; it's time to pick it up again. Goodreads provides recommendations, and I find some lead me to new adventures in reading while others -- like this most recent recommendation -- remind me that a book can be a type of "dear friend" that is fun to meet again after years apart.

Es un libro que se escribió a finales de los 90s. Isabel ha seguido escribiendo muchos libros más después de eso, pero me ha parecido lindo ver en dónde estaba entonces y comparar un poco con la actualidad. Había muchas cosas que no sabía sólo de leer sus novelas, y me han dado ganas de leer o releer algunas de éstas.

Soy fan de Isabel Allende y me regalaron este libro en un cumpleaños. Me gustó la narrativa, la prosa es fácil y fluida y el estilo es muy similar al de Isabel, pero en honor a la verdad, no me contó nada nuevo, q ya no hubiera contado la propia Isabel Allende en alguno de sus libros autobiográficos.

Called a "literary biography" of the author Isabel Allende, this is not in any way a critical work, but a series of interviews with the author by a close personal friend, with some linking text. It is very disorganized, and much is repeated in the two autobiographical works I have read, but there are some interesting insights into her early novels.

ايسابل من أولها بالتحليل والنقد ، وتناول موقفها من أحداث تشيلي إبان حكم بينوشيه ورحيل الكاتبة عن بلدها
كتاب مهم عن كاتبة أعتقد أنها ستحصل على جائزة نوبل يوما ما

Wspaniała książka o pisarce, która dla mnie jest dużo lepsza od Gabriela Garcii Marqueza i Julio Cortazara (ich książki są nierówne i czasami zbyt mocno ociekające seksem). Przedstawione jest życie Isabel Allende i wpływ niektórych wydarzeń na nią jako pisarki. Świetne.
