Vincent Dallas is a well-known “cool kid” around modern California’s famed San Fernando Valley. Although he is preparing to graduate at the top of his class and has already been accepted to Berkeley, he is fed up with the average, monotonous life he has been living for 18 years in the Valley. Vince wants out in the fastest way possible. But, this becomes harder when the girl comes into the picture.Vince meets Kelly Montgomery, the new girl at his high school, and it’s a textbook case of love at first sight; however, upon crossing paths with an old childhood friend who seems to have acquired much wealth in the years since they’d been apart, Vince is unwillingly led by his curiosity into the hellish, underground drug scene of the San Fernando Valley. Despite the expensive payoffs he was receiving, Vince wanted out of the drug scene almost as quickly as he’d been lured in, only to find out that’s much easier said than done.

I brought this book to the beach and didn’t put it down until it was finished. I loved the relationship between Vince and his grandfather! Amazing plot twists and exciting ending! I hope there is a sequel, I don’t want this to be the last of Vince.
