Flaws #3

Flawfully Wedded Wives

Rate this book
Mt. Zion's first lady, Sullivan Webb, has left her philandering ways behind her, but lingering questions surrounding her daughter's paternity motivate Sullivan to seek out her own absentee father, Pastor Samuel Sullivan. What her search uncovers is years of lies, secrets, and betrayal that threaten to destroy the lives of almost everyone she loves.
Kina Battle's newfound celebrity status as the winner of a popular weight-loss reality show goes to her head as quickly as she shed her unwanted pounds. Kina is prepared for the fame, endorsement deals, and celebrity appearances that come along with stardom. What she isn't prepared for is the harsh backlash when her secrets are exposed and the public starts to question whether she is the devout Christian that she's led everyone to believe she is.
Lawson Kerry Banks could get over her husband's affair if the evidence wasn't staring at her through the eyes of his love child. Lawson's insecurities and inability to accept his child force Garrett to choose between the woman he loves and the child he's fathered.
Life as the soon-to-be wife of high school football coach Mark Vinson lacks the excitement of Reginell Kerry's former life. It certainly lacks the financial security that pulling down $1000 a week as an exotic dancer afforded her. When the bills start to pile up, Reginell goes back to doing what she knows best, only this time it may cost her more than she's willing to pay.
Angel King's broken heart finds a safe place to mend in the arms of high school classmate Jordan McKay. He respects her decision to abstain from sex until marriage, he loves the Lord, and he adores her. However, Jordan is harboring a dangerous secret that could destroy their relationship and leave Angel brokenhearted once again.
Just when these ladies think they've gotten life figured out, fate steps in and throws a curve ball, adding fuel to the drama that seems to follow the ladies wherever they go.

Sullivan, Angel, Lawson, Reginell and Kina are back in Flawfully Wedded Wives by Shana Burton. These ladies are faced with new dilemmas, attitudes and betrayal that will keep readers on their toes. Sullivan’s relationship with her mother has not improved but Sullivan knows to get a better understanding of who her father was, she will have to get the information from her mother. When Sullivan’s husband attends an event, he recognizes one of the speakers and alerts his wife. Sullivan soon learns that sometimes you should not ask questions if you cannot handle the answers.

Lawson has tried her best to be supportive of her husband but his betrayal is becoming too much. Lawson does not blame her husband’s son, Simon but his mother, Simone, on the other hand shows her claws at every turn. Lawson must put her big girl panties on if she is going to beat Simone at her own game.

Reginell is engaged to a wonderful man and she has moved past the fact her fiancée fathered her nephew. Reginell is more bothered by her lack of finances. She left her previous employer to start fresh but Reginell is starting to see that maybe she left to soon. Reginell decides to go back to her hold habit thinking her secret is safe until her cousin calls her out in a very humiliating way.

Angel is finally able to move past her break up with ex-fiancée, Duke. Angel is single but not trying to get her heart broken again. She runs into an old classmate and soon finds herself breaking her rule. Jordan McKay is slowly breaking down Angel’s defenses and when she decides to take their relationship to another level the outcome could change both of their lives.

Kina has just won the grand prize on her weight loss show and life is looking great. Kina is determined to stay healthy and rich even if it means hurting others. Kina’s power surge for the limelight changes her and it may no longer be for the better. Will Kina realize it in time?

Flawfully Wedded Wives is about friendship, family, trust, forgiveness and learning your truth. These ladies learn that staying true to themselves and having God in the mix will bring them out of anything. Lies, secrets and betrayal are brought to the forefront making these ladies make hard decisions. This was a well-written inspirational book with a powerful message. The characters are consistent taking the storyline to another level. I recommend Flawfully Wedded Wives to others.

Sullivan, Lawson, Angel, Kina and Reginell are back together again. Kina is on a TV reality show and it goes to her head. Sullivan has had a baby and doesn't know who the father is as a result of her cheating on her Pastor husband. Angel breaks her celibacy and ends up getting pregnant. She later tries to kill herself because she had an abortion and she feels so bad about it. Lawson can't seem to come to grips with the outside baby her husband had with the woman he cheated on her with. Reginell feels like she's a burden on Mark so she sneaks back to stripping. They all have to come to grips with their issues. Once they realize that they love each other and God loves them all, they finally get it together. Read: August 2013.

Troubles don't last always.

This was a good book. Lawson, Sullivan, Reggie, Angel and Kina are all sisters in Christ, going through trials and tribulations. They still continue to seek each other and themselves instead of God. But he remains there for them until they realize to let go and let God. I am really enjoying this story and it just flows so well.
