From the #1 Bestselling Men's Adventure, Action/Adventure, War, and Techno-thriller author, Carolyn McCray comes a short story bridge between the extremely controversial historical thriller, 30 Pieces of Silver and Havoc
Packed with about as much action as you can stuff into 9,000 words, join Brandt and Monroe as they attempt a romantic evening alone. Like we said...attempt!
Haven't read 30 Pieces of Silver yet? Don't worry, there aren't any real spoilers in this prequel.
Like the first book in the “series”, this short story is... short on plot and bursting with action! Its a light, fun read but I fear the author is falling into a predictable, ultimately repetitive formula. Make no mistake, the action is as exciting as ever and there´s a bit of story here, along with romance which surprisingly, even for me, a dude, is somewhat... dare I say... sweet! But there comes a time when some variable has to be inserted to take the reader out of his comfort zone. We know the main characters wont die! So just action scene after action scene, with no stakes will ultimately turn boring no matter how crazy such action may be. Here, given the story is so short, things move at such a fast pace that you hardly have time to think but the problems in the formula are already far too apparent to dismiss. I will read the next book soon as I enjoy both the writing and especially the characters but I fear I might just start to get tired of it.
This is the bridge story between 30 Pieces of Silver and Havoc. Since the end of 30 Pieces of Silver gave away some of the complications with the Brandt/Rebecca love story, this was a good addition to understand the complicated nature of what happened. As with all of the Betrayed series, it is a fun read. This one, being a bridge story, is super-fast.
I love the story of Brandt and Rebecca. Targeted is a bridge book between 30 Pieces of Silver and Havoc. Having already read all the books but this one, I was happy to revisit these two.
It's not necessary to read to understand what's going on in the series, but it does help clear the air on the crazy life these two live.
A fast paced, short story six months after 30 Pieces of Silver. Presumably leading to Havoc. I don't have much time, because I have to know what happens next! P. S. I have already bought and downloaded the Robin Hood Hacker Collection. Having bought The Betrayed Series box set, I knew I would continue the idea. I like them better with series anyway, especially with Kindle books.
This is a short story in the betrayed series. It deals primarily with the two main characters in the series trying to have a romantic evening, but how can you when you have people trying to kill you. Just because it's a short story, it's not lacking in any of the elements which made the first story great. You should read it to continue the series to follow the characters progress.
Targeted is a very short story, a bridge from one book to another, but packed with action. This is a new author for me, but she hooked me with her characters and their voices, humor, and her action scenes. I plan to make sure I read more of this author.
Great action packed thriller. I am so in love with Brandt and Rebecca. No spoilers but this is definitely worth your time. It is a quick read. I read it in a little over an hour with interruptions. I look forward to reading more of Brandt and Rebecca's escapades. Keep them coming.
Loved this short story of what happens between Rebecca and Brandt after 30 pieces of silver. Didn't take to long to read was very fast paced and had tons of action packed in. Now starting Havoc can't wait to see what happens.
Filled with action, this short story bridges the gap between "30 Pieces of Silver" and "Havoc." An enjoyable read, the more so if you are already invested in the characters of Rebecca and Brandt.
