Dnf at 5%. I tried for weeks, but all this back and forth, I just never got into it.

I stumbled on this on amazon and decided to give a try... I certainly was not expecting my hurt to swell up with so much love for these characters and the family unit. I will say that i had tears streaming down my face to the point where my heart actually ached it was a emotional roller coaster ride filled with pain, humour, love and anger, every possible human emotion one can feel will be found in this book...

Lew: Only the ones lucky enough has a uncle like you, which i do... The most genuine character that filled us with humour and instant love, He was a man who knew all life had to offer and went with it with his snappy tongue and silly saying..

Jackie: is the big brother we all have or want to have or are lucky enough to find , the protecter the leader of the pack.

John: The sweet one who was a leader in his own way, the keeper of secrets

Tom: The younger uncle Lew

Bob Green: I adore you, your life was tough and the love tougher.But for some reason it recked me and broke my hurt i felt your pain, I lived it once.. I wish there was better for you, because you deserved it

Maddie: At times i loved this character and at times i actually blamed her, she was selfish at times and she did her kids wrong especially telling a child to keep her secret and could have destroyed him not once did she show compasssion or try to understand what he was going through to be lied all his life, and confussed abt the one man he loved and cherished and just brush it under the rug broke my heart but at the same time. You know she loved them

Joe: Knew better, for what he did to Maddie and blamed everyone but himself it's was more of wrong time problem.. but he got it together ... this might sound borish but Maddie deserved what she had coming, but all i would have was murder on my mind, because of her little Jackie went through some things a child should never go thru

You have to read this book.... I promise you it's worth the read...

Ok why are there not more reviews?

You need to read this book. MK Heffner needs to write more. If you read Something in the way series by Jessica Hawkins you will want to read this. The writing is wonderful, the characters were so well written. The kids I just loved them all. Highly recommend this story.

WOnderfuuuuuuuuuulll..!!!!!


I don't know how I came to know about this book but the moment I read the blurb I knew it had to be mine but...well, there's a but... the high price made me think hard about it....at least I decided to buy it and I bless the money I spent. This book is one of my few favourites, one I can read thousands times and never be bored.

We know the characters from childhood, see them grow up, fall in love, make mistakes...have a second chance at love.

The author is very talented in my opinion, the story captivates your interest and you cannot put the book down before you end it but meanwhile you hope to never see the end since it's so well told.
I love it, love it, love it.
I'm not good at reviews but if my words make you feel how I liked and loved this romance, well, they've done their work then.

I read somewhere there was a sequel on the way, not yet published so I hope the author is working on it at the moment.
