Lacey Weatherford was born in Ft. Meade Maryland while her father was serving in the military. She has been a life long resident of Arizona, spending most of her time growing up in the small rural town of Clay Springs.

It was while she was attending the small country school in Clay Springs, that she read her first "big" book at the age of eight. It was a Nancy Drew novel and Lacey was instantly hooked. She read every book that she could find in the series and decided that she wanted to write stories too.

Lacey spent a lot of time at the library from that time forward, even volunteering in her later teen years and early twenties. She would don a crazy clown outfit for the Friends of the Library fundraisers in an effort to help get the new town library built.

When she and her husband moved away from the area, Lacey took the opportunity to take some creative writing classes at the local college to help further along her interests. Several years later, they were blessed with the opportunity to move back to Clay Springs with their family. The town had finally succeeded in building their library and Lacey had the opportunity to be President of the Friends of the Library for a very short time, before relocating.

Lacey and her family still live in the White Mountains of Arizona, where she continues to write young adult novels that have a fantasy/fairytale or paranormal bent to them, as well as being sure to include a great romantic storyline!

3 Sweet Stars
This is one that started off really good and then kind of fell flat for me.
Hunter is the new guy at school. He's a bad boy who likes to party and has no time for a girlfriend. He's only been there for a few weeks and already became very popular. Hunter can't seem to not stare at the beautiful red head Cami that's in most of his class. Hunter also has a secret that nobody can find out.
Cami is very smart and pretty. The guys at school all notice that she's beautiful but they have her labeled as unattainable. They also don't like her very nerdy best friend Clay. Cami can't help but to stare at the sexy new guy Hunter. He's so not her type though because he's defiantly not a nerdy guy.
Hunter is in almost all of Cami's classes. One day when she drops her binder full of papers Hunter helps her pick them up and also starts joking around with her calling her goody goody two shoes.
Somebody else notices Cami looking at Hunter all the time and doesn't like it.
When Hunter sees a newly made over Clay (no glasses, no plaid, no slick hair, no longer nerdy looking) and a stiff Cami at the movies he steps up and saves Cami by asking her out on a date. Everybody but Cami could see that Clay had feelings for Cami. Cami however only thought of Clay like a brother. She doesn't want to hurt Clay but she's so glad that Hunter gave her an out.
Hunter and Cami start dating and pretty quickly start to develop feelings for each other. I'd pretty much say it was insta.
Hunter and Cami were both very likable. I thought they were both sweet and Clay was a creep.
Now around 40% I pretty much figured out Hunters secret and then around 60% I figured out something else. I don't know. The last half of the book had me rolling my eyes a lot. But I did finish it because I wanted to know if I was right. I was. lol
Will I be reading the next book? No.
When and after the secret came out I just didn't find things very believable and then I went and read the description of book 2 and thinking I'm going to pass.
I liked this sweet book for the most part but it defiantly had eye rolling effects on me too.
If you like them sweet (no sex) only kissing and insta love this is a book for you:))

Quick Review -Spoiler Free
4 STARS out of 5
Genre: YA Romance

Cami Wimberley is a good girl and nothing is gonna change her reputation, not even when she starts dating Hunter Wilder the school bad boy.

'Yes, this girl was beautiful, and it was obvious I liked her....a lot. The truth was I really have no business messing with her. Red warning flags were dropping all over, and suddenly I felt like I was standing right in the middle of a potential minefield. One wrong step and everything would explode in the worst way possible, and it would be a bloody friggin disaster.'

~Inner monologue of Hunter

So, what can I say with out giving much away???
Here goes...

Cami is known for her "goody two shoe" ways. She doesn't party, cut class, do drugs or hang with the in crowd. Nope she gets good grades, goes to class on time and she's in band class. Her best friend Clay is a total dork infamously known for wearing his pocket protector. And even though Cami is gorgeous she is marked a "nerd" by association.
She could careless though, her and Clay have been best friends since Kindergarten and nothing can change that.

Enter Hunter Wilde, the new boy known for his bad boy ways such as partying, getting high and being a womanizer. His CRUSH on Cami starts to get the best of him... And after a rash spontaneous decision he finds himself asking her out on a date. He knows that he has no time for a girlfriend nor does he need one. In fact he has been averting the whole girlfriend thing for a while now.
It's something about her...that he just can't resist.

"There's just something about you that I like. I'm suffering from 'Moth to a flame' syndrome, I guess. Russ teases me about it. He calls you my eye candy."
~Hunter

Thoughts

CRUSH had me a little on edge with it's twist and mystery plot. I know this is a storyline that I have seen before; yet I felt the author gave it her own nice little twist. This book gets four stars because the writing was good, the plot was suspenseful and I enjoyed the romance.

My Ratings
Characters- Lovable
Writing Style- Witty and Clever
Plot/Storyline- Sweet romance with Mild suspense
Steam Factor- PG-13
Overall- I liked it!! You should check it out!!!

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads!

***Free!*** On Amazon-->Crush (Crush series Book 1)

The writing is overly simple.
They speak in formal, complete sentences, inconsistent with their age.
There's very little subtext.
The characters are one dimensional.
There's continuity problems and typos.

And... I loved it!

Once I'd figured out the spoiler, ,
some random box in my brain checked, and I became uncharacteristically tolerant and forgiving of the writing infractions.

Who knows why?

Does it matter?

Wow. This book was absolutely horrendous. I'm still in shock from how bad it was. The writing was extremely amateur. A book is a book for a reason. If you are published and are making money, please make sure that you can at least write well better than you talk. There were A TON of grammar mistakes. Quite frankly, I've read better amateur work than that.

The plot was so ripped off. I've read this same plot twice already, and both of them were much better executed than this. This was such a waste of time. If you have problems with badly written ripped off books, I suggest you look elsewhere for your thrills. You won't be getting any here.

UGH!
What a ugly cover!!! [Period]

The story was very predictable and boring (The girl is dull and beyond her "unique auburn hair and green eyes" I didn't get why so many guys are obsessed with her). So I was almost quitting when I read this...

NO.WAY!!

My reaction was a endless laughter!!

"Ride of your life" .... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!Serious, dude author!!

First off, I love this cover! Made me jump this to the top of my tbr list.
Cami is a good girl 'goody'. Hunter is, well... even though he's the new guy he has quite a reputation. Hunter has a pretty big secret that is keeping him at an arms length from everyone at his new school. Even though he knows he shouldn't be, he is drawn to Cami and he just can't stay away.
I have to say, I loved Cami. She was a great mc, and holy hotness Hunter! You just had to love him! At the beginning I really wanted to like Clay... but that didn't happen for obvious reasons.
I loved that the book switched between Cami's and Hunter's pov. This book was sweet, fun, a little suspensful with some awesome Hunter steamyness :D

Opposites attract in this latest novel from bestselling author Lacey Weatherford.

Cami Wimberley is the quiet, laid back, no nonsense good girl. Perfectly happy living her insanely normal life, being almost invisible as she finishes her senior year preparing for college. Hunter Wilder redefines the term bad boy with his smoldering good looks, charm and charisma. Polar opposite of Cami, he prefers the party animal life style, and is known at school as the ladies man. When these two collide sparks will fly.

Weatherford goes back and forth showing us both Cami and Hunter’s POV throughout, managing to maintain the viability of the story and keeping Hunter’s secret’s right to the very end. Weaving a tale of drama and suspense as we watch the relationship between Cami and Hunter grow, and as hard as Hunter works to keep his secrets Cami works at unraveling them. Obsession leads to deception as love, jealousy and betrayal collide leaving us with a jaw dropping revelation at the end. Will Hunter’s secrets ultimately tear him and Cami apart, or bring them closer together.

Weatherford has a distinctive writing style with the ability to create storylines with depth and realism; her characters are real, believable and relatable. If her name is on a book I immediately want to read it, regardless! Crush is yet another success for the amazing author, I was very sad when I got to the end I just wasn’t ready for the story to end.

I give this one 5/5 guys, but that’s just my two cents!

Cute story but wrong audience!

I was looking for something to fill my brain for a few hours and found this...

I usually don't go for YA romance but the thriller portion sounded interesting.

It really was not bad, but I am not the right audience for it. I read it in a 3 hour block and said "predictable." Also cute but I couldn't believe that the one MC ended up in the situation he did.

I also felt like the dialogue was not realistic for teenagers at times, it felt forced when there should have been banter. There was not much character depth either, but the plot was all story driven.

I certainly did want to know how it ended though.....and read it in one sitting😂 guilty indulgence before jumping into my next more involved book😂

My main issue is that the author's website link from Kindle took me to a Japanese dieting website, when I was looking for the promised second novel's free download. I may or may not buy it some time, but probably not.

YA readers who like a little thriller romance should enjoy this a lot though!

Review to come! Brilliant and amazing!! 'Nuff said!

Edited Review:

So to start this review, I have to say I am a HUGE fan of Lacey's work. Ever since I read Chasing Nikki (which by the way, killed me but I still loved it), I knew Lacey had become a favorite author of mine. I was so excited to hear that she was writing another novel in that series, and I can't wait to get my nitty gritty hands on Finding Chase. I am impatiently waiting for the release! Anyway, so once I read the blurb and saw this cover for CRUSH, I instantly was drawn to this story, even before I got a copy for review. I contacted Lacey and she happily sent me a review copy (she's so sweet) and I was fangirling for like an hour. I was SO EXCITED! Well, I quickly started it and insta love was the first thing that happened. Hunter, oh my Hunter was my new CRUSH! Just like Chase, I fell head over heels for that delish, charismatic hot bad boy. Yes, I did.

One thing I have to say, is that Lacey has a way of creating stories that speak to your heart and albeit, they can be tear-jerky and emotional as all get out, but she really knows how to capture her readers with every story she writes. Now, this is only the second book I've read from her but I know there will never be a book she puts out that I won't like. her writing is captivating, luring and flawless with realistic characters and raw emotions that leave you breathless at the end, and of course in a puddle of tears on the floor. Gahhh, I love her! LOVE HER! Seriously, I am so grateful to have gotten an ARC in return for an honest review. It means alot to me.

So CRUSH was a beautiful story about Hunter, a sexy bad boy with secrets of his own and our beautiful and strong heroine Cami who is just your ordinary teenager wanting to get through her senior year with no real plans set(except to not fall in love with a bad boy like Hunter), and it's about trust, love and friendship. But with secrets, can they make a relationship work???

The characters- I loved them all. I even liked her sweet geeky best friend Clay, even though he had developed feelings for her over the years. She just never knew it and it was weird for her since they knew everything about each other. I felt bad for him but at the same time, I didn't want him to get in the way of Cami and Hunter having a relationship. Hunter, I can't say enough good things about him. I knew I loved him before he even came into the picture. He was sweet, sexy, caring, selfless and I just loved him so much! My heart broke for him at some parts. And then there's Cami. I love a good heroine that you can relate to, and I can relate to her. She's amazing, strong, funny, sweet and innocent and she had great character development-never once annoying me like some heroines do in my books. Nope, not Cami. I loved her. She became my best friend by the end of the book. All of the characters have a special place in my heart and I will always care for them. I secretly have a rendeveu with Hunter in my sleep! Haha

The Writing-I have nothing bad to say about the writing. It's real, it flows perfectly and flawlessly and I really feel like I'm there experiencing the journey along with the characters. Oh and I LOVE a story from the guy's POV and Lacey does a perfect job of weaving both Hunter and Cami's POV without it being all over the place. I loved seeing the story in their eyes and understand what they were feeling at all times. It was incredible, but then again I expect nothing less when it comes to this awesomely talented woman! Lacey has a gift of writing and I can't wait to read future books of hers! Seriously, SHE IS FANTASTIC!!!! I hope to learn a thing or two from her. Go check out her books, you won't regret it!!!

If I could give this book more than FIVE stars, I would no questions asked, but alas I can only give it FIVE so that would have to suffice! THANK YOU SO MUCH LACEY, you rock my world!!!!

MORE!! MORE!!!!! MOREEEEEE!!!

I don't know what exactly were my expectations when I started to read this.. but this clearly wasn't it.

I'M BLOWN AWAY

JUST TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY....

BY YOU HUNTER!!!

HUNTERRRRR OH HUNTER... You're just my kind of guy!!

The story was really good. If I have to be totally honest, I'd say that I kinda figured out the twist in the middle. It was a little obvious to me, but I still had my doubts and as it turns out, I was right all along. It was beautiful. Cami may just be one of the most naive, insensitive or trusting fictional character that I have ever come across. She has her moments. I like that she doesn't really care what other people say. I love how she can be outspoken one minute and then be all shy and blushing the next. Hunter on the other hand, is just SUPER ATTENTIVE. He's every girl's dream come true. I always say that I love books with a guy's POV. Now, in Hunter's case... his POV's were extra special since it still held mysteries.

Cami and Hunter were just perfect for each other. I love their talks. I love how they treat each other. They were totally funny at some point, especially HUNTER. Ohmygosh, I will never forget your childish display of strength! HAHA. I'm so glad that the twist didn't end up hurting these two in the end.

All in all, I'm a very happy reader and I get to sleep now knowing that I got a nice, happy ending.

P.S. I said more at the start of this review because I WANT IT TO BE LONGER. I would love to have at least another chapter just to see what'll happen to them after the storm. But anyhoo.. the end of this one's still purely satisfying.

Thanks, Ms. Weatherford! ^_^

1.5 - 2 stars.

Ever finish reading a book and think "why in the world did you torture yourself by continuing to read it?!" That's exactly how I feel right now. The synopsis gives nothing away about what the story is really about. I wish I would've read more reviews before starting and finishing this book. There were so many things that were so wrong on so many levels! *shaking my head*

This book was just awful. I read it the whole way through. At first I was hoping it would turn around and then I wanted to be sure that it actually deserved 1 star. It read like moderately good fanfiction of the sort written by the 15-18 year old crowd. But, it lacked a solid world or characters to base it on. The plot was weak and the characters were stock. Overall, this read mostly like a wish fulfillment story for teen girls which isn't all bad but this one also wasn't well written, either.

For a while I thought this might be a paranormal. That would explain the hero's name: Hunter Wilder. I thought maybe this was a clever nod to the Wild Hunt and that we would see the Fae Queen wander into the plot. But, no.

There were also random hits telling us how very conflicted Hunter was with a few overlays of "mysterious" and "good or bad." But, they were overly clunky and pedantic. It was like the author had read Twilight and the rest of the related YA pantheon and was hoping to evoke the same sort of mysterious, vaguely menacing presence while completely lacking the skill to pull it off.

The twists were more than telegraphed and just not all the nuanced or interesting.

The language was jarring. First, there was a sprinkling of text speek. The formatting might be different in the print version but in the digital version, you would be reading along and then suddenly have R or U or 2day pop up. Second, the author would periodically go with odd syntax or phrasing. It read like she was trying to up her writing skill by formalizing her style. Or, I've also seen it pop up with people who aren't native english speakers.

Finally, the squick...

I was utterly surprised with the outcome of this book. I really didn’t know what kind of person Hunter Wilder was until the end. I was in shock, just like Cami, but I think I sobbed more than her.

A boy died right in front of her, asked for her help seconds before he took his last breath. After some investigation, Cami learned her schoolmate Jordan died due to drug overdose in his system.

Cami didn’t want to complicate her life so she just stay in the shadows, content with her family and best friend Clay. So when she learned that newcomer Hunter Wilder was a party boy and a notorious drug addict, she distanced herself and promised not to get involved, not after what happened to Jordan.

Hunter possessed qualities Cami’s parents wouldn’t approve, but somehow, she felt drawn to him. There was something about him that made her breath hitched.

And then there was Clay, her best friend since they were kids. Clay had a major transformation from a major dork to a super hottie. Astonishing! More so when the guy she thought was her bestfriend and has treated like a brother suddenly declared his feelings for her. Eventhough everyone knew he was already taken by another girl. Sound complicated?

Well, there also was the case of an obsessed admirer and a possible murder suspect. There seemed to be a lot to take and Cami unconsciously was caught in the middle. How’s that for no more complications, eh!

I enjoyed this new book by Lacey Weatherford. Last year, I had some major heartbreak with her Chasing Nikki series. I liked it so much that I thought Crush wouldn’t turn out good. I was wrong. Turns out, I actually liked Hunter much more than when I liked Chase. This cocky newcomer proved he was more than a pretty face.

But Cami? Hmmm, I thought she was a little insensitive. Her naivete towards her friend was what caused her to land in a heap of bloody sheets. But in the end, she got what she deserved, so there.

I would be reading Miss Weatherford’d next book in the Crush series and I can’t wait to devour it.

First things first. Clay and Cami reminded me A LOT of Simon and Clary from the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I'm just saying that because both Simon and Clay were tagged as nerds (but Simon's like SO muh hotter and cooler), they were both in love with their best friends (even though Simon got over it and Clay's just a crazy loser freak), their best friends both have red hair, their best friends both get the "bad boy" (but Jace is MUCH better than Hunter)

Anyways, this was an okay book. It wouldn't come up in a normal conversation about books, but it was nice book to read if you were bored. Which I was.

I really didn't expect Clay to be such a loser. And I didn't expect Hunter's secret to be what it was. I found Hunter a little bit pathetic. He wasn't "bad boy" enough for me. And I didn't really like Cami either cause she was just... THERE. She wasn't like in the story but she wasn't out of it.

So yeah, if you're bored and see this book at the library, you should read it, but I wouldn't buy it if I were you.

This book reminds me of cross my heart by katie klein and unlovable by sherry gammon. Parker, Seth and Hunter are undercover cops posing as seniors in high school. Let it be known that unlovable is my favorite of the three. Cross my heart comes second and this book ranks third. But being the last doesn't mean it's bad. In fact, i also love this one. The swoon worthy hero, the smart and beautiful heroine, the excitement, suspense, romance. They are all in this book. I was looking for a light fun read after all the angst I've been reading lately. This book gave me just that. 3.5 stars for this one.

Review can be found at http://totallybookedblog.com/2012/10/...

First off... when we rate a book it’s based on how we enjoyed the book in its specific genre and we don’t compare it to books outside of that.

Jenny: That said, what a delicious and engrossing YA read this was Gitte! I really did enjoy it! The anticipation kept me eagerly flicking the pages (well, clicking the Kindle anyway) and it kept me riveted until the end!

Gitte: It sure was Jenny. I was really excited to read this one as I LOVED Chasing Nikki and I really enjoy Lacey Weatherford’s writing style. She absolutely has a knack for creating story lines with depth and her characters are real, credible and relevant. I got sucked in right away again and couldn’t put it down. This was a FAB YA story, it had pretty much everything, betrayal, obsession, love, suspense and drama.

Jenny: I have to confess, this is my first Lacey Weatherford read but you can bet I will be moving Chasing Nikki up my TBR pile quick smart. I loved her writing style and can’t wait to explore more from this Author.

Gitte: Oh Jenny you will love Chasing Nikki…but stock up on the tissues, it’s one hell of an emotional ride! I can’t wait for the second book in that series ‘Finding Chase’. But yeah back to CRUSH, I loved how the Author managed to keep the suspense and intrigue going with clues dotted here and there tied up with Cami and Hunter’s relationship storyline.

Jenny: Can't wait to read Chasing Nikki! I loved the dual POV’s between Cami and Hunter as well and felt it really did add to the story and pulled you in from the very beginning. This really was a tale of first love, friendships, intrigue, and it definitely scored well on the suspense and drama angle for me as well.

Gitte: The instant connection between Hunter and Cami pulled me into their love story and I was really hoping the secrets and drama wasn’t going to stand in their way. And yes, the way this Author writes the story in both Hunter's and Cami's POV came across effortless and smooth.

Jenny: The Author nailed the dual POV that’s for sure! Loved it. The characters had a lot of depth and even though Hunter had his secrets I did feel like I really knew him and absolutely loved his character. He had that bad boy with a heart and boy did I love the build-up and chemistry between these two. The passion was something you really felt! Hunter doesn’t want a girlfriend – he has a secret that must remain hidden and having a girlfriend would complicate his plans and is not something he is looking for until the day beautiful Cami enters his life. Even though I did guess the reveal early on it in no way detracted from my enjoyment of this book.

Gitte: I really liked Cami. She never once annoyed me as a heroine. She was mature for her age, intelligent, completely clued up and dare I say it; normal. She also stood for what she believed in and knew her own value and morals. She knows who she is and what she wants despite knowing this makes her almost invincible in the student life of high-school. That is until bad boy Hunter appears in her life. Oh and Hunter is that bad boy we all love isn’t he Jenny. He has the bad boy charm, charisma and gorgeousness that make him irresistible. He is full of secrets yet he is always honest about his feelings. As a reader the mystery surrounding him made him that much more appealing and I needed to know what he was all about!

Jenny: Cami was a really good heroine for me too. She was trusting, a bit naïve and innocent, but instead of this annoying me I found this endeared her to me. Cami is a senior and has a plan – she is focused, intelligent and her future plan does not include partying and boys……until Hunter comes along that is. Let’s face it….how can you resist this guy?

Gitte: Passionate, Mysterious, Intense, and Smooth-talking……Ummm you can’t…LOL!!!

Jenny: Hmmm you make a great point there GG! I loved the interaction between Hunter and Cami. I loved their tender moments, their passionate moments and I absolutely loved the teasing innuendos between these two – you could almost see Cami blush (and trust me, it’s not that annoying type of blush!) when Hunter was teasing her.

Gitte: These two are almost like polar opposites – the best kind of attraction.

Jenny: Overall I loved this book Gitte. There were times my heart was in my mouth at the suspense and there was a time or two my heart broke for Hunter. Geez the scene where he is pleading with …….tore my heart out – I felt I was there and wanted to reach in the book and give him a hug. Good story, lot of depth to characters and I can only say that I enjoyed this one immensely.

Gitte: Oh I agree Jenny, completely! I thought it was a great read. This story was not only about the romance. It had the drama and suspense and actually it also puts a great message out there.

An ARC was provided by the author to Totallybookedblog.com for a fair and honest review.

I finished this book in one day. In one sitting. That's what I love about Sundays, you can just read all day if you're up for it! And well, this book? I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it but I totally did in the end. It's gripping in a way that makes you want to read and read and discover all the mystery in this book ... there are quite a lot of "secrets" and I kept guessing what it all meant.

It's my first book by Lacey Weatherford but she managed to draw me into the story with her characters, I think. I really enjoyed reading about Cami and - most importantly - Hunter! He just stole my heart with everything he did ... even though it's kind of stereotypical to all the other romances. "Bad guy" falls in love with the innocent girl and only wants her, so from now on he doesn't give a thing about partying and other girls anymore. I admit it, it's predictable in some ways and I even guessed where the story was going. The plot twist on the other hand caught me by surprise! I really didn't expect that but loved the idea!

"Is it possible to love someone who never really existed?"

So, Hunter Wilder, huh? He's a handsome guy but has a certain reputation even though he only recently moved to town. He's popular, likes to party and definitely knows how women react to him. And yet no one really knows him. I liked how Cami had this effect on him, how she made him happy and that we got to see this different side of him as well. I can easily say I understand why Cami fell in love with Hunter ... I mean, who wouldn't? He's a charmer and knows what to say to make you blush and feel important. All the sweet words, the nickname he used for Cami and the cute gestures were just an added plus. He's freaking amazing and I loved him!

I was kind of annoyed with Cami at first. Again it's a stereotypical thing - she's beautiful, the boys think she's really hot but she doesn't see it. She thinks she's nerdy and definitely not that pretty although it's completely obvious that it's actually the opposite. Well, that annoyed me but once she and Hunter got closer it changed a bit and then I didn't mind anymore. Cami is sweet, funny and sometimes sarcastic. I loved the banter between Hunter and her and had a constant grin on my face whenever they were together!

"There's just something about you that I like. I'm suffering from 'moth to flame syndrome", guess. Russ teases me about it. He calls you my eye candy."

The story was good and nicely thought-out but a bit predictable. Now, I don't really mind if I like the characters and all that but maybe that's how Lacey wanted it to be? Like I said, I was pretty surprised by the "plot twist" towards the ending but I could've thought of that, if I'm being honest. There were some hints here and there but I was so busy falling in love with Hunter and unraveling the truth of everything else that I didn't see it coming. Oh well.

Would I recommend this? Yes. If you're into cute romances with a little action and some great characters it's definitely something for you! Hunter is swoon-worthy and could easily be another one of your book-boyfriends with his gorgeous smile. *sigh*

Hmmmmn, I still got mixed feelings after reading. I did enjoy reading it but not as much as I imagined it to be. The start of the story was pretty good. The dialogues were very interesting and flirty between characters. It is just a giddy-feel-good-combined-with-suspense-thriller read. It started out good, especially with the introduction of characters. You can feel sparks fly between Hunter and Cami. You get to be sucked in with their banters and flirty innuendos. Added that with annoying interference of "THE" best friend Clay. Clay was introduced as the cool, geeky best friend but with a flip of a coin, everything you imagined him to be is replaced into someone different. It got me stuck in the middle when it all seems so juvenile to me. Both of the guys were acting all kinds of possessiveness towards Cami. Its is not as attractive or manly as it is anymore when they try to show who gets to get her attention.

There are just some things I find bothersome, like how the kids in the school are all acting like grown-ups. Not grown ups grown up....but Real grown-ups. lolz. E.g Gabrielle? I don't know if there is such a high school kid who flirtatiously and embarrassingly acts like her. On second thoughts, how in the world can a kid create his own laboratory and mixed his own chemicals? How did one even acquire it? considering: 1. they are student, 2. they are student and 3. As i was saying, they are student. Was there not even a hint or suspicion? I do admit that it was thrilling on the end part. I just have it coming, anticipating or forming my own suspicion in my head, guess I was right after all. My own deduction and Sherlock-Holmes-ish investigation worked. hahaha. I do commend though, the author for pulling off a suspense-thriller for young adult. It is hard to come by with stories that involved lots of mysteries to keep stories for this genre interesting. I give this a whopping 3! :)

PS: When Hunter was talking about Cami's Age and forbidden love, for a second I thought maybe he is a vampire...and this is a paranormal book. hahahaha.

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!

Yep, that's me being incredibly excited!! As a lover of romance, I'm giddy over Crush by Lacey Weatherford because I have another book boyfriend to gush and swoon about. For those who have read books by this author (the Of Witches & Warlocks series and Chasing Nikki) you'll know you're in for one hell of a read because Lacey's stories are AMAZING!

Once again, Lacey Weatherford has delivered a romance so exhilarating, you’ll be left in a puddle of swoony sighs, wondering why there was never a guy like Hunter Wilder when you were in high school. This story has it all – romance, suspense, angst, humor . . . not to mention amazing one liners from a guy so deliciously sexy, it’ll leave you breathless and blushing for hours to come! I don't just have a crush . . . I have an addiction. Prepare yourself because you'll feel the same. One look at Hunter and you'll fall so hard they may need to add his name to the list of addictions people need recovering from! But then ... WHO WANTS A CURE???

Enjoy this book! It's amazing! Trust me, you'll love it!! I give it FIVE LUSCIOUS LIPS!! (haha couldn't resist. Have you seen the cover?)

4/5 STARS!!!

I was not expecting to buy crush so soon after i'v heard about it, and that was like 2 or 3 weeks ago.
But i am so freaking glad i did.

Crush is basically about a 17 year old girl, called Cami. She is very talented, gifted, beautiful, and a senior with a very good grades that has no room for boys in her future life. Not even Hunter Wilder, who is the most hottest and most popular guy in school.

Hunter Wilder does not need, nor does he want a girlfriend. His life is complicated as it is. But as soon as he looks and get's to know the beautiful 'Ms. Goody Shoes', he cannot resist the attraction and the spark that begin to fly between them. Before he knows it, he starts to care and have a crush on her. But not everything is perfect. Because Hunter is not who he seems he is. What will happen when Cami finds out his secret?

WOW!!! I loved this from the very beginning. I had a feeling that it was going to be a really good book. Crush is my first book by this fantastic author, and after finishing it, i can't wait to read more!

The characters are ok, some are likable and some are not. I'm glad that the main characters ( Cami and Hunter) are in the ' likable' category. I loved how caring Hunter was, and how sometimes, he got really jealous. I found it kind of cute.

*****
' Our eyes locked, and i felt something strong flare between us. I knew she felt it too because the desire was written in her eyes. I wanted to kiss her so badly my mouth watered in anticipation. My gaze traveled down to her glossy lips, and the tip of her tongue darted out, licking them slightly. Her breathing increased, and i knew then she wanted me as badly as i wanted her'.
*****

Camis and Hunters relationship was very realistic. They had what i think every ' teenage' couples have. Lies. Obsession. Love. Secrets. Drama. And even thought they had all of those things, they worked and sorted them out together. I really liked that. And they also had many romantic, sweet and passionate moments that i just ADORED!

*****
' I melted easily into him once again - our homework still lying on the floor forgotten, and neither of as seemed inclined to start it again. Too bad we didn't have a class on physical anatomy together, then maybe could've passed this off as studying'.
*****

The only reason why i didn't give Crush 5 stars was because of the twists at the end. Most people would not predict them, let's say - 95 percent. But i DID predict them quiet easily. It took me till page 170 or something to figure one of the big twist ( Hunters big secret). And i knew something was up with the murder thing, and i was guessing who might have actually done it. Again, i guessed right. So yeah, the big twists at the end that were supposed to take everyone by surprise, didn't quiet manage do so for me. I'm not saying there weren't any more twists, there were, smaller ones, but still, i didn't see THEM coming.

Overall, Crush definitely is a book that i won't forget easily. A real page turner that i didn't want to put down. Truly Excellent.

A definite page turner..., June 30, 2013

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Crush (Kindle Edition)

I knew when I read this book's synopsis it would be something I'd enjoy and would be hard to put down.

And I was right, I couldn't stop reading no matter how late it was, with believable plot and a great element of mystery, I prepared myself to stay up to the wee hours of the morning. Even when I was so sure I had Hunter ( aka Dylan ) pegged for what he truly is, I was still filled with doubts, he would do things that throws me off and gets me so intrigued.

For a naive inexperienced seventeen year old, Cami is an extra ordinary girl with a good sense of right and wrong. She's beautiful and smart, focused on maintaining excellent grades and has a great plan to become a musical theater major. To achieve that dream, she has avoided getting involve with any boys and has been successful up until he met the cool and handsome Hunter. Knowing he's a bad boy, Cami is drawn to him like a moth to flame.

Like Cami, Hunter avoids getting involve with any girl, does not want or need a girlfriend not at this time of his life. All that changed the moment he set eyes on the beautiful alluring Cami.

The attraction is so palpable between Hunter and Cami, when they are together things gets so heated up. They get so insanely intense and frenzied I think even inanimate objects were getting turned on by the intensity of heat rolling off the two of them...whew, Lordy!

I really liked this book, although it was not a cliff hanger ( which I like ) I can't wait to get started with the next book, Smitten, Cami and Hunter's story continues and it promises to be a good one if not even better.

Yeah, at least I got this story after I bump into a few YA that make me feel uninterested...

First: NO SEX SCENE. This is pure YA romance.

Second: The story is so flowing, I spend 2 hours of my sleep hours to finished it, after being scolded by my mom.

Third: A bit about the drugs and about your childhood friends since you are 5 years old can become unexpected person.

Mixing romance, school life, and a bit of thriller inside... You'll guess and guess and you got a surprise in this story.

Recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hunter:
“What’re you doing?” she asked, leaning to look.
“No peeking,” I teased, shielding it with my other hand while I continued. When I was finished I peeled off the top paper and stuck it on the front of her notebook.
“Do you like me? Check a box, yes or no. I can’t make it any simpler.”

Cami:
My gaze trailed over his gorgeous face, and I longed to touch him. “I don’t want you to risk everything for me. I’m not worth it.” I brushed back the lock of hair that hung over his forehead.

Hunter:
“You are worth it. I’ve had a near miss with death and it showed me there’s only one thing worth living for and that’s love. I love you. Please give me another chance.”

So let me start by saying this book isn't good...as far as literary standards go, its border-line terrible. Why the 4 stars then, you ask. Because, you see, sometimes I get in these moods where I don't want to have to think as I read a book. Sometimes, I want a cute, cheesy chick-lit book with unbelievable plot lines and unoriginal bad-boy/good-girl characters. I was in one of those moods today and this book delivered. There were times where I would literally laugh out loud because of the ridiculous dialogue and scenes. It was bad...but in a completely great, just-what-I-wanted way. So I loved it and hated it. I wasn't expecting great literature from this book and I didn't get it, so I wasn't disappointed. I might go back and change my rating some day...but if you want corny, high school romance, this book is perfect.

P.S. If you want a love story that's VERY similar but actually well-written and slightly more realistic, check out Katie Klein's Cross My Heart :)

3.5 stars - deducting 0.5 stars for the lack of smut.
This started as a sweet, very YA tale of first love set in a High School that became something a little darker by the end.
Miss Marple here (*waves*) sussed the secret that our hot bad boy Hunter is hiding pretty early on so what followed wasn't the big shocker moment it was perhaps meant to be. Despite that I still enjoyed seeing the story unfold and reading between the lines to figure out what was really going on. It was actually a fairly original plot so that made for a pleasant change.
Without wanting to sound like the resident horn dog around here, I could've done with a lil smut. The kisses were fine but PG; we never got any more action than first base...:-/
There's more in this series but there's no cliffhanger.
