Chief instigator of the Lead Change Group, Mike Henry Sr. tell us three principles of the Character-Based Leader: 1) Leadership is influence, 2) Influence is given, and 3) People give influence based on competence, trust and purpose. With these key ideas, the members of the Lead Change Group worked to develop a platform of leadership as a force for positive good. I believe that the group has hit the mark, and advocated for leadership dedicated to serving positive change. The Lead Change group has offered a valuable addition to understanding of leadership behavior in a time of increased upheaval. This book could have been improved - substantially - by including qualitative and quantitative research that supports the opinions in this effort. Perhaps others will use the Character Based Leadership approach as the basis for research inquiry, and practice will be added to knowledge, which may help us improve our world.

Love this book, the main point is: leadership gives by competence, trust, purpose. Not by title
