Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan, DBE (née Miller) was an English writer known for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, particularly those revolving around fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She also wrote the world's longest-running play, the murder mystery The Mousetrap, which has been performed in the West End of London since 1952. A writer during the "Golden Age of Detective Fiction", Christie has been called the "Queen of Crime". She also wrote six novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott. In 1971, she was made a Dame (DBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions to literature. Guinness World Records lists Christie as the best-selling fiction writer of all time, her novels having sold more than two billion copies.

This best-selling author of all time wrote 66 crime novels and story collections, fourteen plays, and six novels under a pseudonym in romance. Her books sold more than a billion copies in the English language and a billion in translation. According to Index Translationum, people translated her works into 103 languages at least, the most for an individual author. Of the most enduring figures in crime literature, she created Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple. She atuhored The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in the history of modern theater.

Another masterpiece by Agatha, a story told by someone in "locked-in" state, pretty impressive and the flow of storyline from one character to another is unique.
My only take on it is the translation, felt like many things got lost there and the fact that the crime didn't happen till the end of the book,or so I thought .

ترى ابنها معلق بالحبل في سقف العلية ، فتصاب بصدمة تشل من حركتها ، وتقعدها عن الكلام ، وصدمة اخرى تجعلها تشفى !

ترى مالذي حدث لكي يشنق ابنها نفسه ؟! احداث تدور في بيت السيدة نورا. رغم شللها فإنها تساعد في الكشف عن مؤامرة لقتلها ، فمن هو الذي يود ان يرى السيدة نورا ميتة ؟! ولماذا ؟

كعادة أجاثا أبدعت كثيرا في وصف حالة المرأة المشلولة ونقل أحاسيسها ومعاناتها وخوفها من القاتل الذي يتربص بها
وكالعادة دائما مايكون القاتل غير متوقع بالمرة

رواية قصيرة ممتعة ، تظهر معاناة المشلول كيف انه يريد ان يعبر عما يجول في خاطره ولا يستطيع ، تصلح للقراءة في السفر لانها قصيرة وشخصياتها محدودة كما انها مسلية

"الجريمة تدقُّ الباب" للأديبة الإنكليزيّة أجاثا كريستي
يتألّف الكتاب من 129 صفحةً، وهو عبارةٌ عن اجتماعِ عددٍ من الأصدقاء عند الآنسة "ماربل" ويدورُ بينهم حديثٌ حولَ القضايا الجنائيّة والجرائم التي أتعبَتْ رجالَ الشّرطة، فيقترحُ أحدُهم عقدَ ندوةٍ أسبوعيّة، يطرحُ فيها كلُّ عضوٍ قضيّةً يعرفُها، ويعرفُ حلَّها، ويدَعُ الفرصةَ لبقيّة الأعضاء للتّفكيرِ في حلِّها، ثمّ يكشفُ عقدَتَها في النّهايةِ لهم.
يبدأ الأصدقاء بالاجتماعاتِ الدّوريّة، فنستمعُ إلى 10 قصصٍ يكتنفها الغموضُ، ويظهرُ فيها دهاءُ المجرمِ ومهارتهُ في إبعادِ الشّبهاتِ عنه، لكنّه سيقعُ أخيراً بيدِ العدالةِ، ويُكتشَفُ أمرُهُ.
قصصُ الكتابِ محكمةُ السّبكِ كما عوّدتنا أجاثا، والمجرمُ هو أكثرُ النّاسِ بُعداً عن الشّبهات، والقصّةُ الواحدةُ بحدودِ الصّفحاتِ العشرةِ، أو أكثرَ قليلاً.

بدايتها و نصفها ايضا ممل...عادة في روايات اغاثا كريستي اشعر بالتحمس منذ البدايه....لكن لكي لا اظلم الروايه ...الصفحات الاربع الاخيره اعجبتني .كثيرا.....بها انكشف كل شي...و الذي كان يقول اتوسل اليكم انقذوها ..انها كل ما تبقى لي من دنياي ...كان هو القاتل....لابنها...و الذي حاول قتلها ...
ساعطيها ثلاث نجمات لان هناك الكثير من الروايات لاغاثا كرستي اجمل واكثر تشويق منها ....

الجريمة التي تدق باب حجرة السيدة مانسون ، فالرجل الذي كان يصرخ ساعدوها أتوسل إليكم، إنها كل ما تبقى لي من دنياي، هو الرجل الذي اقتحم غرفتها ليقتلها... الدنيا غدارة.

الرواية جميلة ومشوقة، نهايتها جيدة، نهاية الاحداث كانت بالنسبة لي جدا مخيفة .. وهي تصور الغدر الذي قام به الشخص الذي كانت تثق به السيدة ليقوم بمحاولات قتلها ليحصل على ممتلكاتها...
