Seduce Me!

Rate this book
The art of seduction is an extremely powerful one when used by someone who understands it. A single kiss can leave someone desperate for more, just like the softest touch can make someone yours forever. The question is, who's seducing who?

Emlia, a beautiful yet unaware student finds herself in the midst of more than a love triangle! When events, as well as men from outside of school, become entangled within her education, she struggles to choose where her heart truly lies.

She captures the eye of her new drama teacher and the sexual tension between them fails to subside. Though the both of them know that this type of prescriptive relationship is forbidden, they can't help but consider the possibilities such a liason would bring.

Throw in some other obstacles such as a psycho ex boyfriend, a drug dealing crush and an admirer in the form of a girl, Emlia really is drowning in the deep end - but who does she truly love and will the art of seduction alter this?

2.5 stars! Seduce me, book 1 of 1 – a debut by Jessica Lambert. Teacher-student love story (with potential), but too much other drama.

I really wanted to like this book because I liked the premise of the story. Unfortunately I am afraid it had too many issues with the writing for me to give it a high ranking. Since this is a debut novel I thought I should write a review with some constructive feedback.

Hero/heroine:
Story was told from hero’s and heroin’s POV, which is a concept I love as it can give good insight… (see more further below)

Caiden Bronte (early 20’s/teacher-recent college grad/black hair/dark brown eyes) is a (financially) struggling drama teacher who only believes in one-night stands. He meets rich girl Emlie Mae Fermonfurd, “Em” (15 years/student/auburn hair/brown eyes) in a club and they end up having a one-night stand, followed by a fall out when Caiden tries is usual “morning after seduction technique”, which did not work on Em. Imagine both of their chocks when they discover that Caiden is going to be her new drama teacher. The story takes off from there.

Let me address the elephant in the room – Em’s age. She snuck in to a club and when Caiden spotted her he assumed her to be 18-19 years old (he is in his early twenties). All he planned on was a one-night stand, but something happened for him where he found himself thinking about Em afterwards. When they meet again at school he tries to stay away….

I did find Caiden sexy, handsome and oh so cocky. OK, so I am a sucker for the tall, dark and handsome hero. And this is why I kept on reading, hoping he could carry the story. Em is feisty and witty. She comes from a privileged upbringing and between her and her friends there is enough drama for soap opera.

Storyline/plot:
Book is described as a teacher student love story, which to me is always interesting, then add to it additional drama of ex-lovers etc.- could work…!
Description was correct, but for me it was just too much happening. I would have preferred story streamlined. I found myself skipping, because I was curious about Caiden’s story.
As mentioned, story was told from hero’s and heroin’s POV, but then all of a sudden POV’s of 2nd characters (I can recall at least 6 other) started to appear, which was too much and unnecessary. When the story shifted between H/h POV the conversation was repeated. I found myself scanning the repeat conversations.
I am not a writer, but I am thinking if all those other POV’s were eliminated, the story might/could work. Plus it wouldn’t be so long-winded.
In addition, there are edits needed (did not bother me that much) and the chapter breaks are not set-up correctly in Kindle.

I 100% loved this book.... It was a lot going on... But still awesome. When it was at the end it was totally confusing. She kept getting hurt that made me mad cause she missed a lot og things. Overall it was great!!

Why oh why oh why did I finish this? I skimmed some parts. WAYYYY too many POV's that meant nothing. Love crazed 15 year old, who's a selfish, rich, bitch. UGH. Don't waste your time. Thankfully it only cost .99.
