Even Better than I Expected: Uplifting, Inspiring, Emotional & Humorous
This book was recommended by a mutual friend of the author. I'd heard a few of Mark's songs and told my old friend I liked what I heard. "Oh, you should read his book, I think you'd like it. We also share a common bond beyond our music, both having wives named Adela. Mark has an incredible story to tell." Well, he was right. I thoroughly enjoyed the read, becoming emotionally involved with this true life story and the journey the author and his family had to take to each reconcile the tragedy they faced. Through it all, God's hand is evident, and He is unapologetically recognized for the redemptive work He accomplishes in all involved.
Honesty, self-deprecating humor, and a happy ending when it could have turned so much worse.

I finished the book in one night because I could not stop reading it. This is a story about hope and hard work and perseverance told by a musician who is a real joy for the world! He tells his story with raw emotion and depth...and his writing style is just like his music style...little bit of fun, little bit of love, little bit of grit, and a whole lot of soul!!!! His attitude and music make you hope he will stick around and play a few more tunes!!! And write a few more stories about hanging in there!

I could not put this book down. Mark is an amazing person with a really unique perspective on life. Am happy to see how everything turned out, and really excited to see him perform this weekend! This book will make you look for the light in your life and it will make you want to book a trip to the Mexican Riviera.
