Project Superpowers #1 2008. Regular Alex Ross cover. Jim Krueger Story. a comic book limited series published by Dynamite Entertainment beginning January 2008. It was co-plotted by Jim Krueger and Alex Ross, with scripts by Jim Krueger, covers by Alex Ross. The story is set in a present-day world that is different from our own; it is implied that the absence of the world’s heroes allowed the United States to become a virtual dictatorship, with the Dynamic Forces corporation manipulating world events for the sake of order and profit.
Interesting... Even though the Superheroes look like Dc and Marvel knock-offs, and have crazy names, the artwork is dynamic, detailed and just plain awesome. The storyline is an intriguing mix (Superheroes meets A Christmas Carol)
The artwork is superb, the story is okay, but the subtle disrespect to Christianity while extolling Buddhism is, for lack of a better word, wicked. I don't know if this agenda was purposeful or just the result of the writers' biases but it marred the story for me... hence, the 2 rating.
