The same old Rubbish Town, the same old waffles. Arty is getting a little bit bored of the daily grind. He fancies a change.
Yes, Arty has made up his mind, he is leaving Rubbish Town! He's only going to pack the essentials - a toothbrush, a kite, some waffles, the kitchen sink...
Will Arty really say his goodbyes to Rubbish Town? Read 'The Move' and find out.
I think to say that I am a little bit obsessed with Matthew Ryan’s books about Patrick and his pals is a fair statement. As always, the colors and drawings fully captivated my attention though I am sure I am not exactly the target audience. This story is one that I am sure resonates with some children. Sometimes, the same old everything we know can seem so boring. But, once you look at what you have, you realize you wouldn’t have it any other way. Arty grows tired of Rubbish Town and decides to move away. However, as he packs his bag we see that there isn’t really anything Arty would want to leave. He has his friends and his waffles. What else could a little monster need? These stories are all so delightfully simple, that you can breathe your own life into it every time you settle down to read it to your kiddos. I personally would love to keep Ryan’s books in my class to inspire my kids to be colorful and creative.
