Waitress Lucy West is down on her luck at the diner. A fan of late-night television reruns, she’s always dreamed of a nineteen-fifties style happily ever after. Little does she know that Christmastime—and Santa—have other plans in store...

Bachelor dad William Kinkaid has his hands full with a young teenage son and a five-year-old daughter. Since losing his wife to cancer three years before, William’s worked hard to keep things as upbeat and normal for the family as possible. In THE HOLIDAY BRIDE, a young girl asks Santa for a new Mommy and one shows up on the couch downstairs, complete with amnesia. This clean novella length romance was short and not too complicated. I have read several other Christmas books by Ginny Baird (the others were all Hallmark books) and I probably enjoyed those a bit more. This was fine for what it was but none of the characters had much depth. I would probably put this somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. 4/5 stars.

2 1/2 "Blue Berry Pancakes and Chocolate Syrup" Stars!

Better than book 1 for sure. This one was a little bit sweet, but a little too cheesy for me. Not horrible though. It made me smile at times, but I'm giving up on this series. Happy reading!

My second book from this author and quite definitely the last, as I really do not care much for it. Neither the way it is written, nor any of the characters and certainly not the unrealistic love story.
Once more I had the feeling the heroine was so insecure that she was ready to settle for a real looser not caring one bit for her. And then bam, she found love with a widower in like 2 hours, while this poor widower had not looked at any other woman since his wife died. I did not really believe their story would last.
And last thing, for such a short novella taking place over such a short period of time, such as Christmas and New Year's Eve, there was a humongous timeline error. The heroine disappeared on Dec 24th, was found amnesiac on Dec 25th morning, was not seen by her previous fiance for 6 days, then the fiance realized she was not there, found her and they still have a few days ahead of their wedding which was to take place on Dec 31st... This was the last straw.

I was looking for a Christmas read for the season. I've been looking to expand my range of reading themes and book types etc
Very short read without much development The Holiday Bride brings a sweet read to the table.
Unfortunately it was a tad too under developed for me. Still, if you're looking for something quick without much thought to it this is an easy book to get done.

Lucy West had plans to be The Holiday Bride to Mitch, a guy she is settling for but finds less than ideal husband material. The big problem is that he doesn't want children and she really does. On Christmas Eve after she gets off work in the diner, she stops by the real estate office where Mitch works and he is too busy to spend this special night with her. He asks her to deliver some packages for a client on her way home, she slips in the heavy snow hits her head and the magic of Christmas takes over.

Lucy wakes up on a sofa in a home of strangers on Christmas morning and doesn't know her name. Carmella the young daughter of the house has wished for a new mother for Christmas and finds Lucy a perfect fit for her family. Lucy has the client's packages with the name Bridget on them so they call her that until she sees a real estate advertisement with Mitch's picture.

This tale is pure fantasy with the web page Justin built, hundreds of potential grooms, secret passage doors and all the Christmas celebrating. Lucy's visit to a home with a happy family, even without the mother makes her realize what she wants but you will have to read this for yourself to find out if she gets her happy family or a marriage to Mitch where she settles...

What a very touching fun read so far the best of the boxset. I can’t tell you how many times I have laughed out loud at all that goes on. The humor is outstanding as well as this short story of lost love, unsure love, and family love.

The narrator did a wonderful job pulling the listener in putting so much emotion into the stories from laughter to fun that you can hear the emotions. I really enjoyed her child voice as well as he male and female ones. She truly brought the story to life. There are no background noises, no repeating of wording, no volume changes. Her performance was outstanding and given with power, confidence. A true pleasure to listen to her work and easy to believe what you are hearing. I had no trouble picturing the scenes and loving the story being pulled in from the start.

This is a wonderful holiday story filled with love, laughs and fun that I totally enjoyed. The plot is great as well as the characters. I truly loved everything about these characters and how the story is land out. At times my heart broke for both main characters. It was truly a delightful romance giving me many hours of enjoyment. The author gives a few surprises that truly leaves you with your mouth open and smiling all the way. I can’t wait to listen to the next one in this series.

Such a great romantic Christmas Story!!!! This is what I call an escape romance.... You know, where you suspend reality on the fact this all takes place in a week, you just sit down and enjoy the romance with the comedic bits placed in just the right places. Lucy is a hard working waitress engaged to Mitch. Mitch is one of those men who are always working and not paying attention to what's important. He's always worried about making money. On Christmas Eve, Lucy is helping h by taking some presents a client of his wants delivered. On her way, she suffers a concussion and wakes up in the Kincaid family's home with no memory. William Kincaid is a grieving father. He and his two children lost their wife/mom 3 years ago to cancer and haven't been able to get past it. They take care of Bridgette (Lucy) until she regains her memories and Mitch comes to get her. Is that how the story ends though? Does Mitch and Lucy wed? Does William realizes he and the children love Lucy? one click your copy today and read for yourself. Now I will have to one click the rest of the series, just to find out if they ate as good as this story :)

At this time of year, Christmas stories abound and I just in the mood to be entertained by something silly!

Lucy, about to be married an idiot who doesn't care about her in the slightest, slips, hits her head and ends up in a strange house with no memory of who she is and how she got there. William is amazed and feels guilty because he is supposed to be attached to the memory of his late wife. Justin at 12 is disgusted and doesn't want the woman around, but Carmella is delighted because she wished for a mum for Christmas.

What happens over the next few days is a riot and I enjoyed it. Pure fantasy, good-natured, parental love (from William's parents as well)and slightly naughty thoughts, but no unnecessary sex scenes - what's not to enjoy?

A great, funny, fast read which will leave you in a good mood!

If you don’t believe in Santa Clause, you may just want to reconsider after reading this short, but oh so cute, tale of love. Even though her wedding is only a week away, Lucy finds herself in a bit of a funk. Her fiancé can’t seem to follow through with his promises, constantly putting work before her, and even getting her to “run his errands”, hand delivering gifts for a “client” on Christmas Eve. But when the weather gets really bad, and a car appears to be heading towards her head on, accidents tend to happen. Waking up in a strangers house Christmas morning with no memory is a whole new experience…for everyone. What starts as a little girls Christmas wish just may turn the lives of everyone involved upside down. So cute and full of love, you won’t want to miss this one. Absolutely guaranteed that you’ll fall in love all over again!

William and Lucy. She has amnesia and is staying in William's house (because she grew up in that house and remembers it). She gets called by two names throughout most of the book, her own, and the name that they "think" might belong to her. William's son? He needs to be taken under control! The thing that bothered me most about the book was once she got her memory back, was in love with William, knowing she wasn't in love with her fiancé, she was still standing there, ready to marry the guy.

I borrowed this book from Amazon Prime, but it's well worth the Kindle price of $0.99. This was exactly what I was looking for in a Christmas novella. The characters feel like real people, it felt truly Christmasy, and the ending wasn't rushed! And it's clean (there are a few innuendos but that didn't bother me.) I'll be reading more books by this author.

She is engaging to get married to an idiot. He loses his wife to cancer. She bangs her head and loses her memory and finds her way into her childhood home. He's afraid of falling in love again. New Year's has new beginnings.

A Light Holiday Novella

Lucy is a hardworking waitress soon to be married to easily distracted boyfriend Mitch, who she only seems to tolerate. Through a mishap, she ends up on William’s couch Christmas morning with no idea how she got there or who she is. But William’s daughter is sure Santa came through on her wish.
Although this seemed a bit expensive for a novella, this is a sweet holiday romance with a few fun twists due to William’s son’s hijinks and I enjoyed reading it. You won’t find any deep meaning in this story but it was just right for a light holiday read.
