আত্মজীবনীমূলক বইগুলো পড়তে সবসময়েই অন্যধরনের ভাল লাগা কাজ করে আমার। একটা মানুষের ভেতরের আমিকে, তার রহস্যময়তা, ভাল লাগা- না লাগা কিছুটা হলেও জানার মতো একটা ব্যাপার।
আর ভিত্তিহীনতা কিংবা তথ্যগত অসংলগ্নতার কারণে বিকৃত ও বিতর্কিত বইটই সিম্পলি অরুচি তৈরি করে।
এই বইটা সে গোত্রের।
রঞ্জন বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সম্ভবত রগরগে গল্পের ভক্ত। সেই সুড়সুড়িতেই লেখার বিষয় হিসেবে তিনি রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের প্রেমকে বেছে নিয়েছেন খুব ওয়াইজলি, কারণটা সোজা-- পাবলিক খাবে।
এর আগেরও একই গোত্রের আরো কিছু লেখা আছে তার-- 'গোপনচারিণী',লেডি রাণু চট্টোপাধ্যায়কে নিয়ে ফাঁদা চটি 'রবি ও রাণুর আদরের দাগ', ভিক্টোরিয়া ওকাম্পোকে নিয়ে 'প্লাতা নদীর তীরে' ইত্যাদি।
নোংরামোয় নিখাদ এক তারা।
আর ভিত্তিহীনতা কিংবা তথ্যগত অসংলগ্নতার কারণে বিকৃত ও বিতর্কিত বইটই সিম্পলি অরুচি তৈরি করে।

পাঠকরা পড়ার সময় খেয়াল রাখবেন, এটি সম্পূর্ণই বানানো একটি লেখা। উর্বর মস্তিকের কল্পনাপ্রসুত ফিকশান। কাদম্বরী দেবীর সুইসাইড নোট বলে যা প্রচার চালানো হয় সেই লেখার কোন অংশই অক্ষত অবস্হায় পাওয়া যায়নি। দেবেন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের প্রবল প্রতাপে শুধু সুইসাইড নোট কেন পরবর্তীতে কাদম্বরী দেবীর সকল স্মৃতিই ঠাকুর বাড়ি থেকে মুছে ফেলা হয়। শুধুমাত্র কাটতি বাড়ানোর জন্যই এসব বানোয়াট লেখা বাজারে ছাড়া হয়।

অনেক দিন পরে একটা বই পড়ে এরকম হতাশ লাগলো।
কাদম্বরীর দেবীকে আমি এডমায়ার করি অনেক দিন ধরে। রবি ঠাকুরের এত লেখার যিনি ইন্সপিরেশান তার জন্য আগ্রহ তো হবেই। সুনীল গঙ্গোপাধ্যায়ের "প্রথম আলো" পড়ে কাদম্বরীর জন্য ভালোবাসা আরো বেশি গাঢ় হলো। ইতিহাস, জানা সত্য, তবু তার মৃত্যুর কথা পড়ে বই বন্ধ করে বিষন্ন মনে বসে থেকেছিলাম অনেকক্ষণ জলভরা চোখে।
রঞ্জন বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের এই বইটির কথা পত্রিকায় জেনেছিলাম মনে হয় অনেক আগে। পড়ার খুব আগ্রহ ছিলো। প্রায় বছর দুয়েক পড়ে সুযোগ পেলাম পড়ার। গুডরিডসে কিছু রিভিউ দেখে অবাক হচ্ছিলাম। তবু শুরু করলাম। কয়েক পাতা পড়েই বুঝে গেলাম বাকি পাঠকদের হতাশার কারণ। একটা বিষন্ন বিষয়কে কি করে দারুণ দক্ষতার সাথে খেলো, হাস্যকর, চরম বিরক্তিকর করে তোলা যায় তার চমতকার উদাহরণ লেখক রঞ্জন বাবু। যেসব ভাষা এই বইতে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, লেখকের কল্পনা যেমন অদ্ভুত বিচ্ছিরি স্টাইলে ডানা মেলেছে তার কোন সৎ উদ্দেশ্য থাকতে পারে না। পাঠক হিসেবে বইয়ের নাম পড়ে আমি ভেবেছিলাম কাদম্বরী দেবীর শেষ চিঠি এবং আনুসঙ্গিক ঘটনা নিয়ে কিছু গবেষণা, ইতিহাস এবং গল্পের প্রয়োজনে কিছু কল্পনা নিয়ে কাহিনী এগুবে। অথচ এখানে একটা চিঠিকে টেনে একই কথা ঘুরিয়ে ফিরিয়ে চৌদ্দবার বলে অকারণে লম্বা করা হয়েছে। তাও সেই চিঠির কি ভাষা! পাঠককে রীতিমত সুড়সুড়ি দেবার চেষ্টা! তা সেরকম যদি লিখতেই হয় তো আর চরিত্র ছিলো না পৃথিবীতে? কেন কাদম্বরী আর রবি ঠাকুরকেই বেছে নেয়া হলো? বইয়ের কাটতি বাড়ানোর জন্য লেখক কোন পর্যায়ে নেমে যেতে পারে বাবা!

Another Garbage by Ranjan Banerjee. This a shame for both the author and the publisher. They could have better published porn stories.
This book is an ideal example of garbage.
The author had put cosiderable amount of effort to build such a trash! Ranjan Banerjee is supposed to be a wise man, so says the blurb of the book but unfortunately throughout his life he could not manage to go beyond the mere somatic affairs. Its pity that for whole of his life he has written and translated things related to SEX but not a single word of them could be remembered by us, also the readers of Lolita or Anais Nin.
Anybody who has even little love or respect or even no feelings at all for Rabindranath Tagore should not go for this book. Of course if any one finds a delight in cheap porn fiction, thats also imagined about Rabindranath, he/she will buy it.
This book is a product of wild and filthy imagination by the author. The publisher also has not mentioned a single word about the authenticity of the book on the cover. So it appears that it is the original suicide note! Obviously it is just to lure the buyers.
Rabindranath was a human being so he did have desires and lust like every other people. So personally I don't bother about all that. It was his own choice whom he would love or hate or he will sleep with. why we should be bothered about that? Even that topic can be of academic interest but can not be a subject matter of PORNOGRAPHY BOOKS because that lacs truth. Love of course does mean sex and that realization is beyond the authors capacity. What it hurts more that the book was written without any reference or research. THE WHOLE BOOK IS BASED ON THE AUTHORS IMAGINATION AND THERE IS NOT A SINGLE STRAND OF TRUTH!!!!
In this book WITHOUT ANY REFERENCE author has taken the flight of imagination to build up sexual relationship between Rabindranath and Kadamvari Devi or Gyanadanandini devi and Satyandranath. Perhaps if author could, he would have mentioned even the coital scenes of the cats and dogs of Tagore's house. Who told the author all this craps? Does love is equivalent to sex? Probably the author himself is confused about the feelings. Nobody still knows why Kadambari commited suicide. Even the post mortem report could not be found. Moreover, in this ‘IMAGINED NOVEL’ Kadamvari Devi wrote those poetry lines in her letter which will be written by Rabindranath long after her death! Author has taken different lines from Rabindranth's poem, simplified them as to serve his purpose and then he had put them on kadambari devi's letter. How amazing! Shame on that Publishing house who published it!
I personally would like to request to the author to not to write up such things. It may help him to heighten his erotic desires in morning bathroom but there are some DUMB people who will easily be mislead.
Finally, as we already know KNOWLEDGE AND RABINDRANTH IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.

আজ হঠাৎ আবিষ্কার করলাম, বছরনয়েক আগে বইটা পড়ে সেটার একতারা বাজালেও রিভিউ হিসেবে কিছু লিখিনি। কেন লিখিনি? এটা কি এতই খারাপ বই যে পড়ে আমার একেবারে "বাক্যি হরে গেছিল", যাকে বলে ডাম্বফাউন্ডেড অবস্থা?
আজ্ঞে না। আসলে এত গালাগাল আঙুলের ডগায় এসে পড়েছিল যে নিজেকে সামলাতে পারার গ্যারান্টি দিতে পারছিলাম না। এখন বয়স হয়েছে। রক্ত আগের তুলনায় ঠান্ডা হয়ে গেছে। তাই বইটা নিয়ে যা ভাবি তা লিখতে সচেষ্ট হলাম।
বইটা পড়ে এত খেপে গেছিলাম কেন, জানেন? কারণ ঊনবিংশ শতাব্দীর সত্যিকারের অলোকসামান্যা এক নারীর রীতিমতো সাহিত্যিক শ্লীলতাহানি করা হয়েছে এই বইয়ে। সেই সঙ্গে ভয়ানকভাবে স্ল্যান্ডার্ড হয়েছেন স্বয়ং রবীন্দ্রনাথ।
কাদম্বরী দেবীর তথাকথিত আত্মহত্যা নিয়ে ব্যবসা আজকের কথা নয়; প্রায় পৌনে এক শতাব্দী ধরে এ-জিনিস হয়ে আসছে। সুনীল গঙ্গোপাধ্যায়ের "প্রথম আলো"-র যে পর্বে এই আত্মহত্যা ও সেটিকে ধামাচাপা দেওয়ার বিবরণ ছিল, 'দেশ'-এর সেই সংখ্যাটা অত্যন্ত দ্রুত বাজার থেকে উড়ে গেছিল। মধু আর মল গুলিয়ে ফেলা পাঠকেরা "সেই ট্র্যাডিশন সমানে চলেছে" স্টাইলে মৌমাছির বদলে মাছি হতে চেয়ে এই বইকে বেস্টসেলার বানিয়েছেন। ফেসবুকে থাকাকালীন অনেক পাঠকই সগর্বে "সংগ্রহ করলাম" পোস্ট দিয়ে জানাতেন, তাঁরা নাকি রবীন্দ্রনাথ সম্বন্ধে জানতে চেয়ে এই বইটি কিনেছেন। অথচ 'কবিমানসী' আজ সম্পূর্ণ বিস্মৃত। রবিজীবনী খুঁটিয়ে পড়ার বিন্দুমাত্র বাসনা দেখি না এইসব 'জিজ্ঞাসু' (?) পাঠকদের মধ্যে। নিত্যপ্রিয় ঘোষ বা অমিতাভ চৌধুরীর গবেষণা বাদ দিচ্ছি; এমনকি 'চিঠিপত্র' আর 'ছিন্নপত্রাবলী' পড়ার ইচ্ছেও দেখি না তাঁদের মধ্যে। কিন্তু এই বইটা কেনার ব্যাপারে তাঁদের আগ্রহ অপরিসীম।
আসল ব্যাপার এইটাই। এইরকম পাঠকদের প্রাচুর্য থাকলে, আর তাঁদের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী মাল জোগানোর মতো প্রকাশক থাকলে, লেখককে গালি দিয়ে কী লাভ? এই সার সত্যটি আমি এতদিনে উপলব্ধি করেছি। তাই সংযত হয়েই মনের কথাগুলো লিখলাম।
তবে রেটিং বদলাবে না, যেহেতু শূন্য বা নেগেটিভ দেওয়ার উপায় নেই।

After finishing the last page i understood a lot of things that made me mum for a while....this book sets an interesting insight of a woman who has been neglected, humiliated, avoided, insulted by everyone whom she had considered her "family" within the courtyard of her in-laws....her only lifeline was her love for the young poet,her brother-in-law,rabi..with whom she grew up together...i felt that the then society had bowed her head under the feet of men,that is she got married in the age of 9(barely a child stepping towards adolescent) to an educated, matured man(yes,i would say him man) of 19....think about that & she was expected to become nearly perfect for her husband...i felt her suppressed tears, her shyness, humiliation about her father's status as just a mere servant....yes she was beautiful to me, why? because of her mind & heart...her way of seeing the world and the world becoming RABI, only pierced through my own heart & i wanted to tell her-'go, go, be with the man you love most'...but "babamoshai"s words wrere law to them, what could they do? trapped inside the hollow,snobbishness & showiness of thakurbari that she forgot her own living life....then another issue rised upon to me, was her husband impotent/ he couldn't ejected because he didn't loved her?? i think he was impotent,it was she, who had to carry the burden of "banja"(barren woman) all through her life of 25 yrs....though i must say that kabiguru had the courage to tell the world of his passionate love towards her through his poetry, but in the end, he too was shunned up....aha! the famous "mejothakuron", how should i start about her? she was an spitting image of any vamps who used to eat up all 'good' men(if they were 'good',then why would they fall either??),anyways, according to the society they were gentlemen, so kadombori's husband was a puppy for mejbouthan,why? because she was educated from London..whoa! what a bloody reason!! at that time it was damn good for any women who had been touchy touchy with European culture(well, we all love the rich culture of Europe but it doesn't mean that we have to SHOW-OFF), but she did & that made him sulk around her like a slave...i believe he was spineless, unworthy to marry kadambari....i did appreciated kadambari's love for the poet but not the suicide, if i were her i would have fight to live, she had great talents which she could have utilized despite the hindrances that she got from her in-laws....over all,it's a good read...i really liked it..special thanks to my music-teacher who offered me the book to read....

ফেসবুকে পাঠকদের একটা গ্রুপ থেকে বইটার নাম পাই। এর পরে আর আগাপাশতলা বিচার না করে গোগ্রাশে গলধকরন। যে ‘শ্রীমতী হে’র জন্য বিশ্বকবির কত অনন্যসাধারন সৃষ্টি তার সুইসাইড নোট বলে কথা। পরা শেষ করে মাথা হ্যাং (এর থেকে ভালো শব্দ পাচ্ছি না)। সুনীলের ‘প্রথম আলো’ পড়েছিলাম অনেক আগে। যুবক রবীন্দ্রনাথকে তথ্য আর লেখনী দিয়ে এই বইতে এঁকেছিলেন সুনীল। বইটা আবার শুরু করলাম আর এই “নোটের” সাথে মেলাতে শুরু করলাম। অনেক ঘটনাই মেলে। তবে মুল সুরটা মেলে না। স্বর্গীয় ভালোবাসার ঘাড় ধরে নাক ঘষে দেয়া হয়েছে নর্দমাতে।
এটা যে একটা সম্পুর্ণ কল্পনাপ্রসুত রচনা তা বইটার উপরেই ছাপা উচিত ছিল (আমার মতো বেকুব পাঠকদের জন্য)। এতটা প্রতারিত আর কোন বই পড়ে হই নি। বটমলাইন: টাইম ওয়েইস্টেড, নেগেটিভ রেটিং করতে চাই।

আত্মজীবনীর প্রতি বরাবরই কৌতুহল একটু বেশি আমার।বইটার নাম দেখে মনে ধরলেও পড়ার পর যথেষ্ট বিরক্তি এসেছে।রঞ্জন বন্দোপাধ্যায় মনগড়া এক বানানো গল্প পাঠকের সামনে তুলে ধরেছেন।শুরুর দিকে পড়ে কেও আবার ঠাকুর মশাইয়ের চরিত্র নিয়ে নানা কথা তুলতে পারেন।ধারণা ৮০% পাঠকেরই তাই হয়েছে।তবে পুরোটা পড়লে সে ধারণা বদলে যাবে।নোংরামিকে এতোটা অতিরঞ্জিত করা শোভা পায় না লিখায়।আর কাদম্বরীর সুইসাইড নোট কোথাও পাওয়া যায় নি অক্ষত অবস্থায়। এমনকি দেবেন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর তার স্মৃতির ছিটেফোটাও রাখেনি ঠাকুরবাড়িতে।ভিত্তিহীনতা এবং তথ্যগত অসংলগ্নতার কারণে বিকৃত ও বিতর্কিত বই অরুচি তৈরি করে।এই বইটা সেই গোত্রের।পাঠককে রীতিমতো সুড়সুড়ি দেবার জন্যই রঞ্জনবাবু বেছে নিয়েছেন এখানে রবি ঠাকুরকে।এতো অসাধারণ দুটো চরিত্রকে এমন হাইস্যকর আর চরম বিরক্তিকর বানাতে পারেন কিভাবে তা কল্পনা করতে পারছি না।মাইনাস রেটিং বলে কিছু আছে? তাহলে হয়তো সেটাই দিতাম।সময় নষ্ট😣যারা পড়েননি তাদের পড়ার দরকার নেই।তবে যদি সস্তা বিনোদন পেতে চান তাহলে রেকমেন্ড করব।কিছু কিছু উপমা ভালো লেগেছে এজন্য ১ তারা।

বইটা পড়ার ইচ্ছে ছিল খুব। কিন্তু পড়ে ভীষণরকম হতাশ হলাম। রীতিমত অখাদ্য। রবীন্দ্রনাথ কে বেঁচে এখনো অনেক লেখক বেঁচে আছে। যেমন আমাদের এখানে ইদানিং হুমায়ুন আহমেদ কে বেঁচে অনেকের উনুন জ্বলছে। হুমায়ুন আহমেদ এর মৃত্যুর পর তাকে নিয়ে যেন বই প্রকাশের হিড়িক উঠেছে। তেমনি ওপার বাংলায় মাঝেমাঝেই চল ওঠে রবি বাবুকে বেচার। একটা উদ্ভট ঘটনাকে (যেটাকে কাদম্বরী দেবীর সুইসাইড নোট বলে চালিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে) টেনে টুনে অযথাই লম্বা করা হয়েছে, একি ঘটনা ঘুরিয়ে ফিরিয়ে আনা হয়েছে যেন শিয়াল কুমীরের ছানা দেখাচ্ছে। সেই সাথে লেখকের প্রানন্ত চেষ্টা পুরো ব্যাপারটাতে একটা রগরগে ভাব দেওয়ার।

অনেক দিন থেকেই ভাবছিলাম পড়বো অবশেষে পড়ে ফেললাম এই উপন্যাস,এতো কষ্ট, দুঃখ, কাদম্বরী দেবীর সুইসাইড নোট এ এই উপন্যাস পড়ে ভীষন মন খারাপ হয়েছে , মনের গভীরে দাগ কাটে এই উপন্যাস !!

একদমই ভালো লাগেনি। টাকা-সময় দুইয়েরই অপচয়। যারা এখনো পড়েন নি বইটা, পড়ার কোনো দরকার নেই। কারণ এতে বানোয়াট যা কাহিনী লেখা হয়েছে তা নিতান্তই অস্বস্তিকর এবং বিরক্তিকর। যারা পড়ে ফেলেছেন, তাদের জন্য আন্তরিক সমবেদনা।

১ তারা কমিয়ে নিলাম। কাদম্বরীকে নিয়ে আমার আগ্রহ থেকেই বইটাকে রেটিং দিয়েছিলাম, লেখকের জন্য নয়। উনার কাজ শুধু রগরগে বিশ্রী বর্ণনা দেয়া এবং একটা বিষন্ন বিষয়কে সস্তা লেখায় প্রকাশ করা।
এসব শব্দ ব্যবহার করতে চাচ্ছিলাম না, খারাপ শোনায়। তবে লেখকের লেখা যে ঠিক কতটা নিম্নমানের সেটা বোঝানোর মতো উপযুক্ত আর কোনো শব্দও পাচ্ছিলাম না।

জঘন্য। প্রথম আলো পড়ার পর এই বই পড়তে গিয়ে আমার শুধু রাগ উঠছিলো।এত অসাধারণ দুটো চরিত্র নিয়ে একজন লেখক কিভাবে এমন গার্বেজ লিখতে পারেন সেটা আমি আসলে কল্পনাই করতে পারছিনা। শুধু সময়টা নষ্ট হলো আর মেজাজ সপ্তমে চড়লো!

This book is supposed to be the suicide note/last letter of Kadomboridevi, Rabindranath's sister-in-law which she addresses to Rabindranath. However in the prologue,throughout the book,or in the epilogue (there isn't one) there is not a single mention of any credible(or incredible) source, no reference is cited whatsoever. So I treated this book as a historical fiction. There lies the beauty of this book. If it is a fiction then except the poetry lines of Kabiguru, which the author uses sparsely throughout the book, one can assume that the writing is the author's own words and not a memoir, and the same writings excellently portray the woes of a girl from a small family hailing from a despicable place married off at a tender age to a rich family with rich tradition and repute, the author through his words display the difficult situation she finds herself in, not accepted by in-laws, not supported by a husband conspicuous by his absence, in love with a person who is destined to move away one day as he does. The pace of the book is brilliantly set with the protagonist telling her journey from her marriage to her imminent death, somewhat incoherently given her present condition. All in a all a very good book. However I dont understand why such a world-famous literary figure was chosen for this setting if all this was pure fiction. So I gave it 4/5, docking one rating. Truth is had it not been the case I would not have picked up this book. Glad that I did.

স্রেফ অখাদ্য, লেখক এসব চেষ্টা না করে রসময় গুপ্তদার লাইনে গেলে কিছু নাম করতেন। রবীন্দ্রনাথ বা যে কাউকে নিয়ে কল্পনা বা মিথ্যা কল্পনা করে সাহিত্য রচনা করায় আমার আপত্তি নাই, চটি রচনায়ও আপত্তি নাই, তবে চটিকে সাহিত্য হিসাবে চালাইতে চাওয়ার অপচেষ্টায় আপত্তি আছে। রঞ্জন সাহেব সেই আপত্তিকর কাজটিই করেছেন। রঞ্জন বন্ধোপাধ্যায় সাহেব নাম বদলিয়ে রঞ্জন গুপ্ত রাখলে ভাল করবেন।

নীলক্ষেতের মোস্তফা মামার পরামর্শে বইটা কিনেছিলাম, উনি বলেছিলেন, বইটা নাকি বাজারে খুব চলতেছে। কয়েক মাস আগে কাদম্বরী মুভিটা দেখেছিলাম, তার আগে সুনীল গঙ্গোপাধ্যায় এর 'প্রথম আলো' পড়েছিলাম। বইটাতে আর মুভিটাতে নতুন বউঠানের জীবনের অনেকগুলো কাহিনী উঠে আসে। রবীন্দ্রনাথের সাথে তার সখ্যতা, ঠাকুর বাড়িতে তার মূল্যায়ন , রবীন্দ্রনাথের সাহিত্যে তার প্রভাব, সবকিছুই উঠে আসে। এই বইটাতে লেখক মূলত কাদম্বরীর লেখা সর্বশেষ চিঠিটা, যা উনি রবি ঠাকুরের উদ্দেশ্যে লিখেছিলেন, তারই প্রতিচ্ছবি উঠে আসে। প্রায় ১২৭ বছর পরে ইতিহাসের গহ্বর থেকে কিছু লুপ্ত কাহিনী পড়তে মন্দ লাগে নি। তবে মূল চরিত্রের কণ্ঠে, পুরো বই জুরে ঝড়তেছিল বেদনাদায়ক অভিব্যক্তি, যা পাঠক হৃদয়কেও সিক্ত করে...
