When Thomas Thomas Thomas (yes, that’s his real name) goes camping with a group of guys from his high school, his eccentric childhood friend, Bruno, gets lost in the woods. While searching for Bruno, Thomas stumbles upon the magical prison of a powerful entity that has taken Bruno captive.

What follows is an exciting and hilarious journey through a haunted forest infested with giant spiders, up an enchanted volcano, and over a cursed desert to a remote island and a ruined temple. There Thomas must make an agonizing choice between his own desires and fulfilling his destiny.

This is fun, slightly goofy adventure story perfect for kids 10 and up. It’s also great if you’re trying to get your young boys to read. It’s got a big of a Percy Jackson vibe and a bit of a Monsters Vs. Aliens vibe. Basically, it’s up to the universe’s biggest losers to save the world.

There are a lot of typos here — a total lack of comma knowledge, mostly, and some weird formatting, like a page number occasionally in a different font. I think I have the most recent edition.

I think I won this in a drawing, and I have met Jason King a couple times.

If you are someone that likes books such as Fablehaven or Janitors, you need to pick up a copy of Thomas Destiny! Thomas Destiny is one of those fun books that you can pick up and finish within a few hours or a long car ride. The action picks up right away and you will find yourself laughing along the ride. Especially if you ever participated in any scouting activity. The main character is a twelve year old boy that accidentally releases an evil demon while on a scout camp.

I never remember my scout camps being that interesting. However after the demon is released all sorts of trouble begins and it's up to Thomas to stop him.

The characters are really well written and memorable. You soon will find yourself picking out who your favorite character is and wanting to know more! You may even find yourself yelling Jackpot for no explainable reason. I certainly did. The great thing about this book is that it's a book I feel comfortable with letting my kids read.

Thomas Destiny is the first book in a trilogy that is definitely one that I will be reading again and again. Jason King and Jon Grundvig really have something amazing happening within the pages of his book. I look forward to the next chapter in the series.

Thomas Destiny is an absurdly funny and entertaining adventure. The story should appeal to fans of the Percy Jackson series and is appropriate for teens and adults as well as younger kids that are not easily scared. The book contains some violence and plenty of scary moments. The narrator (of the audiobook) does an excellent job bringing the story to life.

If you like books like Fablehaven or Janitors, check this book out! It's a simple, fast read, but it keeps you enthralled throughout the whole thing! I read it in four hours, but I couldn't put it down. And the times I had to, I was back to it as soon as possible! Great read, memorable characters, wonderful storyline, good plot, and an engaging story! Thomas Destiny, being the first of a trilogy, is definitely one that I'll be reading again and again. Can't wait for the next book! Jason King has a good thing going here and I look forward to reading more of his books!

This was a freebie for review, I got it in audio book form and my first issue was the volume. I could only listen in the car because even though I normally listen to audibles at half to two thirds volume, I could not hear this one when turned all the way up. Even in the car it was not very loud at max volume and even though I wasn't enjoying it (up to the first 1/4) I finally bought the book so I could read it and provide a review. I tried, but could not finish it. It was completely unenjoyable to me, the attempts at humour are complete fails especially the offensive "retard" jokes. I know, the boy is not mentally handicapped, he is an alien that ages differently than humans and has the mental compacity of a 5 year old even though he is 14, but they are still retard jokes and in bad taste. The poorly written humour combind with a story that I didn't enjoy just made it impossible to finish. Sorry people who gave me a free copy for review, at least I purchased the book if that is any consultation for me hating it.
