Alphonse sets out to paint Easter eggs the color of spring. One by one, he uses all the basic colors to try to paint his eggs, but each time success seems to be wihin reach, something happens. Finally, all the colors but one have been tried. Determined to the last, Alphonse finally
manages the perfect purple egg. As he and the mouse admire it, it cracks open and a baby chick emerges and hops away.

Another great tale from the Alphonse Knows set. This one I have used to talk about Spring, Easter, and colours. I have also used it to create talk about caring for others, ways you can show it, and how big gifts and small gifts can all matter equally. I am hoping they come back into print, so I can buy the full set.
