I found this book to be well written and a good read. It kept me interested throughout the book and I really liked the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who is into Adult Paranormal Romance. by Amanda F. of www.FaeBooks.co.uk
I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. I need a bigger fan even with the air conditioning on high! I received this book free from Goodreads First Reads Giveaway. When the Bad Guys are just as hunky and appealing as the Good Guys, the fact that they have jobs with difficult bosses and women troubles only makes this a "have to read it in one sitting" book. Please listen to the voices, get dragonspeech to increase your writing speed, and hurry up with the next book. There are cold, desperate women out here waiting for some heat!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I started it last night, and couldn't put it down until it was finished at 5am! Fantastic characters, strong personalities, and a great story to back them all up! I'll be looking at more books from Michel Prince now! Love the easy, well-flowing writing style with humor and character (not all stuffy conversations). ~Review by Kendra of www.FaeBooks.co.uk
This was a great paranormal romance! The book follows two different groups and a young woman. Each group being part of a hidden paranormal society unknown to the human world, until after death. The two groups were the demons sent from hell, and the Frozen. The Frozen are a group of humans that were selected after their death to protect the world from demons, but no random human is selected only certain people who commit suicide are chosen by the angel Gabriel. After they have chosen to end their lives Gabriel gives them the choice, either to go straight to hell where they were headed anyway, or to have the chance to earn their way to heaven by saving the world from demons for a certain amount of years. If they agree they hold the fate of their soul, literally by holding their soul in their weapons. There are only 12 areas in the world called Hell's Mouths that spit out newborn demons. They are released every 12 hours at noon and midnight. The Frozen are there to try and kill the demons before the trackers of the demon group can collect them and bring them back to their home to help them grow and mature and send them out into the world. Nye is the central character of the Frozen, he ended his life in the 1800s after loosing his love and no longer wanting to be a slave. He only has seven more years before his sentence is up, which has been extended many times due to insubordination to Gabriel. While out on a noon hunt in the outskirts of town Nye and his partner Dilana catch the demon with her paralyzing arrows, but one missed, after the kill Nye noticed a human was lying not far away, she had been struck by the rogue arrow. The only way she would survive is if they brought her back to their compound which was dangerous in itself since they were not supposed to even fight around humans so they wouldn't know of them, Gabriel's rules. For whatever reason Nye felt like he needed to save her no matter the cost, there was just something about her. Kiriana had no idea that a relaxing run outside of town would lead to an arrow in the leg and fighting for her life while feeling like she was being kidnapped. After the pain started to subside she started to realize that she was feeling quite an attraction for her kidnapper/savior. This book was very intriguing to me from all different aspects. I really liked how parts of the Bible, angels and demons were brought into this story. Also I liked all the different love stories. There were passionate, erotic, hateful, and innocent love lines. I really liked the relationship tension between Nye and Kiriana developed since he had a very traditional and old school look on a relationship, since his last one was in the 1800s, and he's used to whites and blacks not even being able to look at each other. The romance mashed up with the paranormal was a great blend and I definitely recommend this book.
One thing that I enjoy about the paranormal genre is that it’s always changing! If you have the idea to write a book about anything not “normal” then you can do that in paranormal. You can create this complete world; characters, places and it can end up being a great story.
That is the case with this book. There are the “normal” aspects to it, but there is also that paranormal twist as well. When you have The Frozen, something that could actually be true, but can’t be proven, it adds to the story in a large amount. The rest of the book has the normal parts to it, it takes place in a regular world, where demons just happen to reside.
One of my complaints about this book is that in the beginning, the switching between the different characters was very confusing. Even during the later parts of the book, some of the times when the POV would change, it would catch me off guard and I would have to re-read to understand what was going on. Who was saying what exactly.
Also, it would have been nice to find out why the Frozen were created in the first place. We found out why Nye became one of the Frozen, but overall the reason why they were created, I didn’t know. The ending of the book was also confusing, but I did enjoy the twist that was thrown in there!
The different characters were written in a way that you could understand each of them. Yet it left more to wonder about during the course of the story. I really enjoy when not everything is given at once time, it helps to keep the story running. Each of the characters had a different, yet important, role in the course of the story. This story left a lot open for future books in the series. It would be interesting to learn about how the other couples met, and what will happen in their future.
Overall I did enjoy reading this book; the different twist that was taken on the paranormal world was very well done. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to the rest of the series!
Michel Prince has brought us a new paranormal series and I was fortunate enough to receive a copy to review for The Library. It brings in a new twist on the old good against evil fight-- these aren't angels fighting demons. Instead we are introduced to a new group: the Frozen -- a new twist on purgatory. Age-frozen in time at the of their deaths, Gabriel (yes, that Gabriel) offers them a chance of redemption by fighting demons. Everything is fine--until Kiriana happens across Nye and his partner as they are out hunting demons one day and she is accidentally shot with a poisoned arrow meant for the demon.
The attraction between Nye and Kiriana is well played out. I particularly appreciate the struggle that Nye goes through fighting that attraction-- he was a slave when he ended his life and the mentality of "black/white don't mix" is still very strong in him.
The story switches between Nye and Kiri's story and what's happening at the demon coven camp. There's a lot going on there too which makes for a very intense read. Damarion is fighting to work his way back to Hell and to his love that waits there.
Ms. Prince's use of the word Yahweh in describing the leader of the demon horde, though, threw me every time-- the first time she used it, I had to go back and reread because I was afraid I had misunderstood who the good guys were. But, that's a small enough quibble in the overall scheme of the book.
All in all, I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series and discovering what is going to happen in the future.

Independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock. I don't know if it was because I am reading in my second language (my first is german) or if it was the book. It took me ages to get into the book and I think that some of it was lost on me, however after the 3 chapter or so I managed to find a flow and enjoyed the book. I have enjoyed the storyline with Kiri and Nye, also Damarion story has you feeling for him. All together once I got it I have enjoyed the book. I will this book a 4 star review.
I had the privilege of reading the book The Frozen by Michel Prince. It was a truly fascinating read that pulled you into the story of angels, demons, normals, and most of the entire love story that unfolded in the middle of a violent struggle between good and evil. Michel has well developed characters that you easily fall in love with as their back-story unfolds. It's a very real world story where one of the main characters is HIV positive and her strength in fighting against her weakness to get what she loves is amazing. I thought that putting the glossary in the beginning of the book was awesome because it really helped you to understand the beings in the books. The love scenes in the book were super hot and let you in on the action! At the end I became a little confused but then as The action played out things became clear. I easily fell in love with Kiri and Nye, the two main characters they were so relatable and well written. The story has an amazing start an action filled middle and a beautiful ending. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it! Reviewed by Lee Ryder of Fae Books.
When Kiri is caught in the crossfire during a demon hunt, Nye's frozen heart begins to thaw. His partner tells him to leave Kiri behind, but Nye can't do that. Even after he saves her life, he can't leave her. Kiri has never been with a man who truly makes her feel. Even though she barely knows Nye, she can't imagine a life without him. Their irresistible attraction to each other creates a heartstopping, romantic story.
Shared redemption is an edgy, fast-paced, erotic, interracial romance. Not only did I fall for the beautiful relationship between Nye and Kiri, I found a special place in my heart for the bad guy (Damarion) as well. Prince is a pro at crafting well-rounded characters the reader can sympathize with and root for. With humor, twists and turns in the plot, and swoon-worthy romantic scenes, this story was worth every moment spent reading it. This isn't the first time I've lost sleep staying up way too late to read a Michel Prince novel! And, let me tell you--it was worth staying up for.
I. Loved. This. Book. Need I say more? Omgosh, Michel has completely blown my mind here on this one. This is my first read from her and you know, I've read from some other people that she's one of their favorites, I'd have to agree! Hands down! Her writing style kind of reminds me of J.R. Ward! I was never disappointed with this book. I laughed, I cried, my heart broke. It was tragic, it was funny... it was everything that you could expect in a book. I honestly hope that this is part of a series and she doesn't leave us hanging where it left off. Can't wait for the next book!!!!! Reviewed by Ashley E. of www.faebooks.co.uk
It was okay. Not my favorite. I loved Nye and his back story but DJ and Kiri just got on my nerves. I skipped almost all of D's chapters and skimmed when Kiri was talking. Honestly just not my kind of book.
