A pretty basic, generic story about an undead Nazi madscientist sent back to Earth with supernatural powers to circumvent the Apocalypse. Lots of Hellboy vibes. The treat is Tony Harris doing sequential art, making good use of his photo ref style for the flashback sequences as well as his more energetic, cartoony style for the present (future) day portions.
Here's another one that doesn't quite hold up to my memories. The story feels really rushed, and probably could have used another issue or two to breathe. As a result, the characters feel underdeveloped, and the relationships between them are never quite convincing. Furthermore, while I'm usually a big fan of Tony Harris' artwork, it feels like he's off his game here. His art is veering into this weird cartoonish territory in this book, and it really clashes with the dark tone of the story. Still, it's an interesting read, and one the really could have been something special if it had been more strongly developed.
To be honest, I don't really get this story. I followed it, for sure, and I get the ending too. But, the plotline seemed haphazard, and some things weren't really tied up for me. On the other hand, this is a beautifully drawn book. The art masterfully compliments the story...as it is.
Ya agregué la edición española de Norma (Publicado en el #52 de la colección "Made in Hell"), que es la que poseo. Cuando la lea, ganará su correspondiente reseña.
Nice piece of artwork but TERRIBLE/RETARDED story. Shame they didn't explore the original idea proposed - of brutal nazi human experiments during the second world war.
