Rate this book
A trial by combat...A fight to the death...A test of the heart...

The third in the Highlands Trilogy, HIGHLAND MAGIC begins where HIGHLAND GRACE ended, giving you Branwenn and Callum’s story.

Set in the turn of the 13th century Scottish Highlands. After fleeing her wedding to her Norman betrothed and being swept into the Irish Sea during a storm, Branwenn Maclean finds herself once more in the land of the Highland Scots. Little does she know, however, that the maimed man who drops through the ceiling of her hiding place is none other than Callum MacGregor, the man who both vexes and beguiles her.

Callum awakens in a darkened sea cave believing he’s being nursed by a sea nymph. Little does he know, however, that the fey creature is in actuality none other than his massive warrior Maclean cousins’ foster sister, Branwenn, the lass that has taunted and haunted him since his first encounter with her one year past.

She has two cats, a 24-year-old cockatiel, a funny, supportive husband, and a garden that's been fried by the recent drought. When she isn't in her writer's cave writing, you can find her puttering in her organic vegetable garden or in her kitchen trying out a new recipe. An animal (and bug) lover since before she could speak, she made pets of all kinds of critters when she was a kid growing up. Her mother even swears that she made a pet of a cockroach one time (but K.E. doesn't believe her). She likes to write funny, sexy romances.

Highland Magic was the third book in the Highland Trilogy by K.E Saxon.

I love me a good Scottish Romance and that is just what I got from this series times three. The story was very interesting and kept me turning the pages and not wanting to set the book down. This story takes off right where book 2 Highland Grace leaves off. Branwenn the heroine is set to wed Gaiallard de Montfort. This arrangement was made by their prince and was not a love match at all. Gaiallard is a greedy man and only wants to wed Branwenn to get his hands on a demesne that he's been wanting. Branwenn can tell that Gaiallard is not happy with having to wed her and at one point she walk's in on Gaiallard while he is doing something very vile which make's Branwenn flee from Cambria with the help from her brother.

Branwenn boarded a ship dressed as a boy to get away. A storm occurs and she is swept over board and ends up in a cave not knowing that she is back in Scotland. While in the cave she come's across Callum, her foster brothers cousin. These two had been highly attracted to each other but kept their feelings hidden behind actions throughout book's one and two.

It's not long before Branwenn and Callum's attraction starts to sizzle and the spicy scenes start to take place. The family join forces to get these two together. Finally a wedding day has been planned but before they have a chance to say their vow's with the priest, Gaiallard show's up and has reason's for the wedding not to take place. Voices are raised and Callum challenges Gaiallard to fight to the death.

Sounds good right? Well this is where my review ends because I don't want to give the whole story away. As a matter of fact I've not revealed quite a bit of the story line but just enough to get you interested in this REALLY good series. But I do want you to know that at the end of this book, K.E. Saxon does give us a FANTASTIC epilogue that includes all of the characters from all three book's and it's a VERY HEA ending.

I'm so glad that I decided to give this series a try. I was only 30% into book 1, Highland Venegeance when I knew I was going to be reading book 2 Highland Grace right away. I was so caught up in this story and the characters that after book 2, YEP, I moved right into book 3 Highland Magic, which the author was kind enough to gift me :-) That was a big surprise for me and it made my day. So THANK YOU K.E. SAXON for sharing your wonderful series with me. I look forwards to reading more book's by K.E. Saxon in the future.

I recommend this whole series to anyone who loves a really good Scottish romance.

Ok I read this book in a day! I was up till 3:30 am, I think that should say enough about how I felt about this book! love love love...

This was Callum's and Branwenn story, and again it continues right where book two left off. Branwenn agreed to marry Gaiallard de Montfort to end the war between her cousin the Prince Llwelyn and her brothers Bao and Daniel. Branwenn learns awful disgusting things about the man she is about to marry and with the aid of her brother Reys she escapes aboard a ship. The ship ends up boarded by pirates and she is swept away by the sea and grabs hold of a plank until she ends up on land. while living in a cave Callum ends up in the same cave extremely ill from being poisoned. Now Callum and Branwenn were already attracted to each other and so their attraction grows. The sex scenes between these two were hot! I could definitely feel the passion between them and the deep feelings. I also loved the secondary characters in this book, it really is a series about family.

Callum has deep feeling for Branwenn early on, but doesn't want to admit to himself or anyone else. His family however can see how he feels and sets up "situations" to make him realize his feelings. For the most part this works, but it also brings out Callum's jealously and insecurity regarding Branwenn. In book 2 Callum was married to Lara (she was a b*tch), who cheated on him repeatedly, so I understand his feelings. But damn Callum pissed me off! I honestly felt bad for Callum most of the time because he was his own worst enemy. Well these two finally get to the church and are about to married when something happens....you guessed it..Gaiallard de Montfort shows up and stops the wedding and challenges Callum to a fight to the death. Ok at this point I was thinking these two love birds would just have to survive this duel and then off to the church again. Damn i was wrong wrong wrong.....

I couldn't put this book down, i would look at the clock and then think ok just a little bit more. But i couldn't go to sleep without knowing what would happen next with these two. And the epilogue wrapped up the series nicely.

I thoroughly enjoyed this last book of the Highland Trilogy by K. E. Saxon. I became entwined with the characters ongoing saga in the first book, Highland Vengeance. The saga continued with the second book Highland Grace and did not disappoint. Highland Magic the third book in the series was just as entertaining as the two previous books. The story lines were ongoing to the point you could read each as a stand alone book but, you will receive so much more from the series if you read them in the order written.

This was the love story of Callum and Branwenn. It was rocky to say the least. There were times when reading this story I actually wanted to do physical harm to Callum!! That is the mark of a truly great read! When you become so involved with the characters in a story that it evokes such a response you know the author has done a wonderful job. To say this story will evoke anger at injustice is an understatement but, it has so much more!

I would recommend this series to anyone who has a fondness for Highland adventures! I hope you will enjoy these books as much as I did. Happy Reading!

Outstanding end to the trilogy

Boy talk about dense! The story kept you on the edge to see if Callum would get his act together. Branwen ever sweet and nieve plus forgiving still held it together. She is a strong but in a gentle sort of way with mouthy comebacks every once in awhile. I really enjoyed the writing of Ms Saxon will definitely read more of her books
