Eirik Holte was always destined to be a Moon Muse, charged with the care of the magical realm of Noren and its inhabitance. However, when he is betrayed and his life is plunged into chaos he finds he must now work with three new Muses in order to save his sacred charge. Among them is a shy woman named Ellette Hughes. Eirik has hardly noticed her in all the years they have known each other through the Coven that supports him and his duty. At first she seems unremarkable. Yet, as he instructs the three in the crisis that has befallen Noren, Eirik notices he cannot seem to ignore her. After they are forced to spend nearly every moment together Eirik begins to understand why she and the other two have been chosen by Noren.

The realm of Noren has always known the grace of the Muses. The two worlds are symbiotically joined together. Elven Lord Ashfaren has been one of the few to hear the Muses’ voice through the ages. They were present when he met the lovely Elemental, Tsukiha, and his life began to change. Yet, when the hallow bond with the Muses is corrupted Ashfaren and Tsukiha are forced down a path that leads to a gifted young Sage, Vwynsent Bloom. The three begin a new relationship with the Muses that has never existed before and is the only way Noren will survive the double edged treachery that threatens its very existence.

“Noren~ Scar of Trees,” is a beautifully articulated novel that captures the reader and pulls them away into an imaginative new world both riveting and allusive in its fantastical, mythical realm. It introduces a world both new and archetypal with a fresh twist on what I think of as a modern myth with the idea of a third lover. The author’s presentation of the utility of art combined with a philosophical source, belief, or depiction of life is bold, bright, and artistic. The novel poetically illustrates a scenic portrayal of life’s themes of love, passion, fear, survival, vocation, and production. The novel reads as lucidly and expressively as the images it presents where fantasy begets philosophy, art, entertainment and transformation. It is a lovely and remarkable read!

Lively and supremely entertaining, the first book in the Noren series, Noren Scar of Trees, is a story of commitment, betrayal, hope, magic and love. Three friends, Ellette, Bernadette and Willaminna are called to Lunar Tree Manor where they are informed by the handsome and mysterious Moon Muse Eirik that they are to serve as the new Muses responsible for a magical realm this is the spiritual heart of their own world. As they learn the history of Noren and begin to understand their new responsibilities they discover a terrible secret about their predecessors that threatens their own lives and the future of the magical realm for which they are responsible. Beautiful imagery and a unique plot keep you turning the pages as the story unfolds with touches of humor, passionate romance and heart-wrenching choices for a cast of characters you come to love. I highly recommend Noren Scar of Trees.
