I am a huge fan of the Forbidden Bond Series, so I've been anxiously awaiting this release! I have to say that I was definitely not disappointed! This novella is the perfect prequel to Unbound and Unforgiven! It tells the story of Dani's parents, Tessa and Griffin.

What I loved most about this story is the fact that we got to see a side of a few of the characters that we have never seen before in Unbound and Unafraid. It's refreshing to get to know them a little better and see the other sides to their personalities. For me, it explained more of the other two books and really tied them all together. It helped me understand why they are the way they are and why they act the way they act.

I really loved this book. As usual, Cat created a fascinating world with fascinating characters, and showed me their past in a way that made me fall in love with them all over again.

Ever want something that’s really quick to read and paranormal? This novella might be just the thing. And if you like vampires and romance, you are in for a treat.

Tessa is a waitress that has been making her own way for years, with no family or anyone to help her. Consequently, she lives in a dump, and has no way to make her life better. She does, however, have a supernatural talent. She has prophetic dreams. One night she dreams that she meets a gorgeous vampire while in an alley. She then continues to dream about him, until when the circumstances surrounding the meeting come true, she is more then ready to meet him. Scared, but very ready. The only reason Griffin is in the alley is for his next meal. This is the story of that meeting and what happens afterwards. Needless to say, Tessa is a surprise to him.

I really liked Tessa’s character. She is a strong character, but falls hopelessly in love with Griffin even though she can tell he is keeping secrets from her. Griffin wasn’t quite as likable, because he was pretty maddening at times. However, there is a reason for his behavior, and I am sure that is why he acted the way he does. So while I understood his actions, I didn’t necessarily like it.

The falling in love part was pretty fast, but then this is a novella, and it’s to be expected. I’ve learned to forgive a lot of things in a novella since it all has to happen quickly. The sex scenes are extremely hot, bordering on erotica, but not quite. Not a fan of that, but for some reason, it didn’t bother me. I think maybe because it was well done, as this author does know how to write a good story.

I had downloaded the sample of this easily over a year ago, maybe longer. So it was really past time for me to read it. After reading the sample, I had to purchase the novella, because I was really wanting to know more about Tessa and Griffin’s romance. From what I can tell, the first two books of this series were released first, and due to popular demand from the author’s fans, this novella was written. It can stand alone, but I bet if you enjoy it, you are going to want to read the next one, just as I do. (RabidReads.com)

Unafraid (A Forbidden Bond Series Prequel Novella)
This prequel to The Forbidden Bond Series can be read as a stand-alone novella.

Those that have read and fallen in love with Unbound and Unforgiven will not want to miss this, those that haven’t, read this and you’ll soon be drawn into the series.

In this novella, we learn more of how Tessa and Griffin met, and fell in love. The reader is given a completely different perspective of the characters, and if you didn’t feel for them before you will now. As with all her writing, Cat draws you in, and describes everything in such detail that your imagination will just take over.

Next to wait patiently for Unmerciful………..

This had a lot of potential, but my biggest issue was the lack of conversation vs just telling. There was a lot of telling vs showing, but especially in conversation. I know it's a novella, so I wasn't expecting it to be long, but telling me they had a conversation or she was asking something alot doesn't have the same impact as actually reading it. Also, don't tell me how he was acting instead of showing me with body language. He's being secretive, show it.

A lot of writing without showing left me a little disappointed, but I love how these plots sound that I'm giving the next one a shot. Hopefully, it was just a novella thing.

"They say when you fall in love with someone that person becomes like a drug, an addiction you don’t want to live without."
Cat Miller has written a beautiful love story that will captivate you.
Tessa is a human and strong woman who speaks her mind and doesn't take crap from Griffin. She is unafraid of the vampire who has her heart.
Griffin is an alpha and caveman vampire. He is being trained to serve on the vampire Council and his marriage to a mate has been arranged. Mating with a human could cause him ruin and possibly his death.
Their love is like Romeo and Juliet. Will Tessa become Griffin's downfall?
The Forbidden Series is so addicting! I would strongly recommend this series!

Love strong characters but poor conclusion

Loved the fact that both main characters were very strong willed. Both having power over the other making them equals and that much more drawn to one another. I found the ending, or the conclusion lacking but this is a prequel so I will check out the next book and hope it tells me how they worked out their "problems" .

Love Griffin and Tess!

I really love the storyline of Griffin and Tess! Without giving away spoilers of the other books, this novella makes me want to punch Griffin in his junk!! I hope Tessa gets everything she wants and more! She deserves it!❤

Short & Sweet

If you have read the series, you most definitely want a little more on how Griffin and Tessa came about .

Griffin wasn’t always so - hmm - stuffy. With this short little story I can see more into how Tessa fell for him.

Great story

I really liked this book. Tessa and Griffin had an interesting start. It's a shame the way their romance ended.

Unfortunately I didn’t read the book to the end but what I did read to me was like fifty shades of gray just supernatural. Not my cup of tea.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. For all of you fans out there that have been following the series, you're questions about Tessa and Griffin's past are answred. This book is about how they met and the progression of their relationship. Tessa was precognative since childhood, her dreams were premonitions of things to come just as her mothers and grandmothers had. After the death of her father, she learned to keep her premonitions to herself. Being called a witch and a demon was too stressful. Once her mother and stepfather are killer, she is on her own. Working as a waitress and living in a hovel of a flat, she dreams of a vampire coming to claim her as his mate. When Griffin comes, she is waiting, which confuses the crap out of him. Over a very short period of time they fall in love. due to Griffins obligations to his family and community, this is unacceptable, and when a jealous lover comes into play, all hell breaks loose. Read to find out the intricate details in this short story dedicated to Soliel's parents, Tessa and Griffin, and their story. I love this series, can't get enough. Waiting, waiting impatiently for the next one in the series. Coming Soon!! WaAr

There is something very special that Ms. Miller brings to life that reaches out and doesn't let go, it stays with you even when you come to the end. This is the pre-quel to the first two stories Unbound/Unforgiven. The story is focused on Tessa and Griffin and their initial coming together. I don't do spoilers, I would hate to take away from the journey your in for. This is some of Ms. Millers best yet, i can't wait to see what comes next! A very talented author that is easily comparable to the giants of paranormal romance such as Kelley Armstrong, Laurell Hamilton and Felicity Heaton. I am hooked on the superb and dynamic writing that makes the story take on a life of it's own, along with the characters that hold deapth and emotion that would be hard pushed to be compared and combine this with the unique quality of "The forbidden bond series" it is surely one to watch out for. I urge you, read this book if this is your genre and take the chance...your in for a treat. x

I really liked to read about Tessa and Griffin. You get intrigued with their story in the beginning of the Forbidden Bond Series, but you get few details. This goes into extensive details of Tessa and Griffin's story before Dani. The only thing I wish to be different is that towards the end of the book it says "Two Years Later...." I wish we could read about those two years and how they lived without being detected by the vampires. All in all it was a great novella and a wonderful story. It was more than worth the amount I paid for it. The whole series is great! I really want the next two to come out. They are called Unmerciful and Unmasked, but I have no clue when they come out. When trying to find information on these books I get nothing from Amazon, Goodreads, or Cat Miller's website. I really want more of this great story. I don't want to have to wait either!

Well, I have begun this series back to front, but I do not care. I can easily separate Tessa and Griffin's origins to that of the entire series. Because this story is a prequel to The Forbidden Bond Series.
Cat Miller delivers a deliciously hot novella that had me enthralled from page 1, right through to page 79. It is short, but sometimes good things comes in small packages, right? Unafraid is on of those little gems.
Unafraid is a great story, with hidden messages meshed throughout the pages. Ms.Miller is a gifted writer, and vividly portrays these messages in a way that simply does not let the reader go.
Yes, I am hooked, yes I will now read the first two novels of The Forbidden Bond Series, and yes I thoroughly recommend this read to everyone who loves vampires, interesting plots & beautiful writing. Don't miss out. Get your copy today.

I loved this novella. I was so excited when I heard this book was being written and not just because it has a vampire named Delphina in it ;). I was excited because I really had to know more about Tess and Griffin. I was very mad at Griffin at the end of Unforgiven and knew this book would shed some insight on his behavior. Yes, I was mad at a fictitious character. The characters are that well developed that I feel I know them. This book really did give the insight I was looking for and also helped me understand Tess Better. I think you could easily read this book without having read the other books in the series and if you are considering this series and do not want to commit to a full length novel, this might be just the ticket for you.

This author is on fire! Not only does she hook you with her writing style and descriptions of the characters, but she makes you love/hate/wanna kill them so well that you honestly would if you could! I've loved getting to know some of the characters better in this novella. One in particular is more on my "love" side now, which is amazing to me since I absolutely hated him in the first two books. The love between the two main characters in this installment is amazing. This is definitely a welcomed addition to the series. I can't wait to see what else the author comes out with :)

This is the prequel to Unbound. This is just my opinion, but I found it a better read after reading the first two than reading it first. This is just the back story of Danielle's parent's falling in love...leading up to the birth of Danielle/Soliel's birth. Though I do recommend reading it, just I would reserve it until after the first two.

Predictable to the extreme, and at the end felt like a freaking rip off of Twilight. Bad typo in one of the many poorly written sex scenes (he messages her breasts.)

Unimpressed and definitely have no interest in future books in this series especially seeing that the next one starts where this one ended.

I love this prequel so much! I want more Tessa & Griffin! I can't wait to see where they go from here & how their story plays out in the future books. It's a great read! I read this before Unforgiven/Unbound, but I know the author suggests to read it after. I have a bias opinion & love them so much because I read it first, but either reading order is ok.

Wow, this is a great read.
I like vampire books, especially with an alpha vampire man in it.
Throw in the mess of a woman being a clairvoyant and seeing she will be his mate while this is forbidden and you have an amazing read.

I would like to read more of her books.

Don't know why I waited so long to read this. I really liked it. I feel in like with the characters almost immediately. I dunno maybe it's because I haven't read PNR in a while. Looking forward to the next one.
