Delilah's Diary #1

A Sexy Journey

Rate this book
I've always been a good girl. I grew up in a small town, dated my high school sweetheart all the way through college, and married him. I even waited until our wedding night for my first time. Yeah, that kind of good girl. Finding my husband in bed with the church secretary came as quite a shock, needless to say. Finding out he'd slept with just about every female in town was an even bigger shock.

Discovering those dirty little secrets is what sent me on a journey that I will never forget.

** This erotic romance novella is for adults only! Contains super hot, one-on-one sex between two great characters.**

So. Many. Issues.

I really, really, REALLY wanted to love this book. The cover is cute; the premise is interesting- the heroine finds out her husband is a cheat, so she does some self-discovery- and there's seemingly tons of hot sex. However, I couldn't enjoy this book; I won't be purchasing the others in the series. You have no idea how much it pains me to only read one book in a series; that's how much I hated this book. First, the editing is sloppy and there are grammatical errors that are distracting and take away from being immersed in the story. The main character, Delilah (of course!) is a holier-than-thou Christian who has only been with one man (her cheating husband), doesn't masturbate, finds it hard to swear, and has seemingly never heard of anal sex, bisexuals, traveler's checks or tequila. Just because you are from a small town, doesn't mean you are a narrow-minded moron that judges everyone, are too stupid to figure out a way to NOT carry $20,000 in cash around and are so trusting that you leave said cash sitting beside you in a backpack in a foreign country. Jasinda Wilder makes me cringe. I am from a small town; however, I know how to use the Internet (since I'm not Amish, as apparently Delilah is) and I read books and watch the news. Thank you for perpetuating the myth that anyone not born and bred in a big city is a complete idiot. Delilah goes from throwing a stiletto at her husband (who is overweight, an a##hole and NOT good in bed...yet, every woman- - to saying how sheltered she is, because she's such a Bible-reading Christian woman who would never sin. Then she calls the woman her husband is cheating with a . I can buy the never masturbated, doesn't swear, kind of naïve bit. But not when in the next breath she is talking about reading erotic novels and discussing anal sex with an absolute stranger. She says, "Harry was always gentle with me. Treated me right. Took care of me." I find it hard to believe that a man that will screw the entire town, including his soon-to-be sister-in-law, is a caring individual. And if he took such great care of her, why was she complaining in the third paragraph that he wouldn't even buy her a decent-fitting bra. Because even though she has a job, she would rather spend money on Michael Kors sheets and bitch about her husband being a tightwad than taking care of herself.

Another thing that bothers me is that she has $20,000 and acts like it's a million. Of course, she runs into people that are just throwing their services at her, so who has to worry about a little thing like money? Especially when you end up finding someone who knows one of the top divorce attorneys (who, by the way, made a HORRIBLE deal) who can magically bend time and get a divorce finalized in three days.

My next gripe is that I understand what it is like to have low self-esteem. To not feel attractive, or to stay with someone that you pretend loves you. DO NOT blame this person for your thoughts, words, and actions, though. Delilah is a whiny, self-righteous snob half the time that just isn't likeable. I finished this story, hoping that she would redeem herself. No such luck. She swears like a sailor in one breath and in the next says, "good gravy!" She is so trusting of a guy, even after her world has come crashing down around her not a week before.

I know this is fluff, meant to be entertaining. I have a hard time enjoying something with a character that is downright stupid, however. I like smart storylines with things that could actually happen (What? The billionaire down the street wants to take me on his private jet to an island in the middle of nowhere that he owns? I'll be right there....) and characters that make me think, not shake my head in disgust.

Why did I do this to myself? Oh yeah I remember! I just wanted to finish the box set it was part of so I can finally get rid of it. Think of every possible cliché about small town girl who married her high school sweetheart only to realize a few years later that he's a cheating jerk and you'll have this book. Do yourself a favor and don't read it.

Delilah's Diary started with a bang - literally!! Our sexy full figured heroine catches her husband in bed with the preacher's wife!! What ensues is pure hilarity. I love the fact that Delilah did not let her insecurities dictate her actions, but left with her head held high. However, once she struck out on her own the story dragged a bit. Due to Delilah's lack of experience, in pretty much everything, the book turned into a how to guide; how to dress, how to date, how to have sex - albeit amazing sex. Nonetheless, I'm still intrigued by Delilah's journey and can't wait to see what happens next.

I really enjoyed this read. I love the theme of a woman discovering how sexy and desirable she is even if her cheating husband didn't get it. These types of stories offer such power to woman who can easily find themselves in situations where they doubt themselves too much.

Delilah is on a journey of a new life, a fresh start - figuring out who she wants to be. Leaving her husband and starting over she will travel and experience life for the first time.

This was just the right touch of sexy, but a great feel-good read. I am looking forward to continuing on with Delilah as she discovers all the things about herself that she never let shine before.

Series Rating 4.25 Stars. Caution: this review is for all 3 Delilah's Diary books

"It ain't the end of the world, you know. Just the end of what you knew."

I downloaded Delilah's Diary 1: A Sexy Journey by Jasinda Wilder from Amazon as a freebie. Let me warn you now, just go ahead and grab all three: Delilah's Diary 2: La Vita Sexy and Delilah's Diary 3: Sexy Surrender. This is really one book split into three parts, but luckily they are all out, so there is no cliffhanger to worry about. Let me start by saying these are erotic books, in other words, they tend to be on the "lady porn" side of things, but honestly, I'm not complaining. (Though if my husband had Jasinda's number, he might call and thank her.) Though there was a LOT of sex, there was a great story, and I wish there was more. The stories are each pretty short (about 60 pages each) but the three together are a wonderful, complete journey with a great ending.

Delilah unexpectedly came home to find her husband of 8 years in bed with the pastor's "skinny" wife. (I don't get the impression that Delilah is plus sized, just a little curvy, like a size 12). When she runs to her sister's for comfort, she finds out that her sister, and half the town has slept with him as well. Harry is the only man Delilah had ever even kissed, and her only knowledge sexually is: "I'd roll to my back, and he'd put it in, and then he'd finish, and that's it." Delilah takes her belongings, empties the joint account and heads to Chicago. On the way, she gets 2 great pieces of advice.

"My advice? Just love life, do things. Have an adventure. Meet a man and don't hold back. It doesn't have to be love, you know. It can just feel good too."

"Get a Makeover. Change how you look. Go wild, girl. Who you used to be is gone. Be someone new."

Delilah takes that advice, and starts with a makeover. When the woman at the salon hooks her up with 2 gay guys, George and José, for a makeover and shopping spree (such fun!), Delilah is transformed. She even finds the nerve to touch herself and give herself her first big O at the age of 29. While on this journey of self discovery, Delilah decides to travel the world and picks up a netbook to journal her experiences. Hence the names of these books. These are written as a diary...kind of. George gives Delilah some more good advice for moving on:

"Just be true to who you want to be. Don't let anything hold you back."

Off Delilah goes to Rome--with a one way ticket, and only her new clothes, cash and netbook. Free and happy, and ready to finally experience life, she is doing just that when fate interrupted, and she meets Luca. Tall, dark, Italian and gorgeous, Luca rescues her and takes care of her. There is an immediate connection. After dining and spending some time together, they are alone, and Delilah realizes she is truly desired for the first time, but is afraid...she doesn't know what she is doing.

"This Harry was only a selfish pig of a man who did not deserve you. You need to be taught what true pleasure is, I think."..."If you are sure you want this, with me, tonight, I will be as slow an educator in the arts of love as you could wish. If not, there is always another night..."

After some amazingly hot sexy times, Delilah's heart gets caught up...and her inner voice keeps saying "Run. Run. Run." Luca and Delilah eventually head back to his hometown of Firenze, where she meets his big, loud, warm, loving family, and she realizes she has never had any of that in her life...but it's too much, too soon. "Run. Run. Run." her inner voice says, while it's fighting the other voice, saying "Love. Love. Love." I have to stop here and quote Luca after his compliments made Delilah cry because she had spent her whole life not feeling good enough for other people's standards.

"You do not always see your own worth, I think. You are not so skinny as I think the American ideal of perfection is believed to be."..."I like you as you are...I would not like you so much if you were skinny, all sticks and skin. You have curves, you have a body to touch and hold...I am Italian, and we have different ideals of beauty. And you, amore, are my ideal of beauty."

I don't want to give away anymore, even though I have tons of great quotes highlighted, so I'll just say, read it!

Likes:

-I loved watching Delilah's journey, and seeing love sneak up on her.
-I enjoyed watching her self-esteem increase as well.
-It was a unique way of presenting the story, via journal entries.
-The sex was HOT, and didn't need a ton of kink to make it that way.
-I absolutely LOVED the way it ended.
-George and José were great, I wish I had more of them.
-Luca was totally awesome.
-I loved Luca's family!

Dislikes:

-I don't like books that are split like this. I don't mind "episodes" but a full novel split into 3 short novellas, to me should just be released as one book.
-Jasinda uses sexual expressions that I make fun of most writers for (and yes, I plan on making fun of her too). Luckily the story was good enough to overlook 3 of my biggest "no-no" expressions: "Throbbing manhood" (at least she didn't say "turgid"), "dew of my essence", "spearing the flower of my pussy".
-While I'm busy teasing Jasinda for her sex expressions, I have to say, she loves to mention "hot wet seed, spurting against my walls" (mentioned in the Big Girls books as well) Is it me? I never feel the squirt!?!?
-The journal entries seem like journal entries sometimes, and then other times it seems like Delilah would never write, nor would she know to write about the "sensitive patch of rough skin" (her G-spot), but this is explained by the fact that she reads a lot of erotic novels (though if she did that, why was she so uncomfortable at first?) But this can explain some of the wording used.

Rating: 4.25 stars, 4.5 Heat

Despite my not liking the split novella format and some of the sexual expressions, I really, really loved these books. I enjoyed watching Delilah's journey to love, not only for Luca, but for herself as well. I love that it took place in Europe, with a sexy Italian man. Luca was very much in control in the bedroom but was as thoughtful and wonderful as possible. There is a lot of sex, but the sex had heart, and I loved it. The end was just perfect, and I'm so glad the author ended it with Delilah moving forward, not stepping back.

This book was read for the Back to School reading Challenge – Read a book with an item used in school. “Diary” was my choice.

This book has an awesome beginning. Delilah’s world as she knows it is turned upside down and she does like most of us would – she runs.
As the story progresses, we follow Delilah as she meets a couple of awesome gays who give her the fashion and makeup advice she needs. (Most girls has a go to gay, and a gay best friend is not a new premise, so why is Delilah so confused by them? I can’t buy that she’s never come across gay men like these!)

My only issue with this book – the book is a diary that Delilah is writing. She is in Rome and manages to type in what I guess to be perfect Italian, a few sentence shared I anger and fear between two characters. However on the next page, she doesn’t know the exact meaning of ‘Mia Bella’. I can speak a lot of French and I understand it, but I would not be able to type word for word an exchange between two people in French that I had heard hours earlier. I admit, this is the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed the book and have no reason other than current time and planned reading, not to read the next in the short series.

I recommend this book to everyone who likes quick reads, simple romances and sex.

>>I stumbled upon this first book when I was surfing the free books on the Amazon site… probably one of my favorite past times!... I was unsure of what to expect, other than a sexy, short read. I knew that I was going to have to purchase the next few books, but I figured I would give this one a go, and see how I felt when I was done.

I was so excited to find a character that I could really connect with! Delilah is a curvy girl with a lifetime of self-esteem issues… surely anything a woman with any extra bulk can connect with. The ideal of beauty today is so hard to keep up with, so to read about someone who so truly loves herself anyway was a welcomed change.

We meet Delilah having just found her husband sleeping with the PASTOR’S WIFE! Obviously she is heartbroken, she gave him everything and he has, as we find out, been sleeping with everyone, including her sister. This is the starting point of Delilah’s story and what sends her out of the US with a one-way ticket to Rome.

Here she meets Luca, the epitome of sexy Italian men. He has a huge heart and is introduced when she saves her bag from a mugger, and becomes her “Knight in Shining Armor”. Their relationship sizzles… and I mean sizzles… so sexy! Their feelings grow for each other, quickly I might add, and it scares Delilah… sending her fleeing…and into book 2.

“After I found my husband boffing the church secretary, I got on a plane with a mission to get away from it all and figure out my life. Instead, I fell into the arms of sexy Italian wine-seller Luca, who rocked my world, and now I'm all kinds of confused.

I can't get enough of him, but the intensity of our connection scares me. The incredible things he does to my body scares me, if only because I like them so very much.”

Well I bought the final two books because I had to know how the story ended! (and let’s face it I deserved it after cleaning the house)

>>After an emotional exploration into the side of love and sex that sends Delilah running, we are relieved to see Luca come after her. He once again saves her life. It is during this book that their relationship really takes a turn towards the serious side of things. She heads home with him to Florence to stay with his family, which only furthers her concerns that she is getting in too deep too quickly with this gorgeously sexy man.

The relationship they have is one every girl wants. Luca utterly worships Delilah and everything about her. He has laid his heart on the line for this woman, that he has only known a few months, and knows she is his “one” but is trying to get her to understand it…. Which leads to her running… again… and into book 3.

“I called, and Luca came. And then he came again, and I came with him. The problem isn't sex. The problem is love, and If I'm ready for it again so soon. “

>>The final part of this story is absolutely wonderful. The last line of the previous book shows Delilah calling Luca from Paris… knowing she had made a terrible mistake running from him again. When he comes to her side he tells her he will not follow her again, if she runs this is over. This is really the moment that Delilah realizes, that while it has happened so fast, she needs Luca just like he needs her.

Their relationship continues to be utterly sexy and slightly enviable. Thankfully, after some deep soul searching, Delilah finally does realize she loves Luca and races, by train, to the vineyard he is checking in on to tell him that. It is on this trip, Luca finally asks to spend the rest of their lives together. It is completed with an absolutely wonderful wedding and happy ending.

>>I had hoped that there would be an additional book added to this series to give us an insight into how they are doing over there in Italy… maybe someday! I absolutely loved every part of these books. While they are very short they are oh so sexy and so enjoyable!

**warning...this review may be considered sort of spoilerish**

This was an enjoyable story. I liked Delilah and found the start to her story (this is the beginning of a serial so be warned that this ends in a cliffy)) to be interesting and kind of fun. This is the first thing I've read by this author and based off this I may try more of her work in the future.

Delilah is the editor in chief of her town's paper and has been married to her husband for going on a decade. Their relationship was rather lack-luster but still, Delilah was shocked when, upon coming home unexpectedly, she finds her husband having sex with the pastor's wife in their bed. She's shocked and horrified and basically just packs up and leaves. She goes to the bank where her sister works, only to find out her sister is one of the many, many women in town that Delilah's husband has slept with. Delilah withdraws all the money they have in the bank ($20K) and grabs a bus for Chicago.

Delilah gets to Chicago and decides to get a makeover to bring out a whole new person inside. She goes for haircut and color and lucks in to a stylist that hooks her up with a couple of gay guys that take her under their wings on the wardrobe. She also meets with a lawyer and sets up a quick divorce where her husband keeps the cars and everything else and she keeps the $20K she took. She spends a bit of time in Chicago and then flies to Rome. She's not there long when a boy steals her bag and she goes running after him. This brings her to meet Luca. He's a handsome Italian from Florence who is taken with Delilah from the beginning. They spend the rest of the day together and on in to the night and Delilah finds out just how bad a lover her Ex had been. The story ends in a cliffy as she's realizing that Luca touched feelings in her that scare her and she had to figure out if she's going to go with him back to Florence or run away.

Overall I liked Delilah and I enjoyed her story up to this point. Luca seems to have great potential at being a really good hero and I like what I've seen of him so far. That being said, I started this not realizing it was a serial and I hate serials so I'm undecided at this point about whether I'll spend the money to read the rest of Delilah's story. :)

For people that like spoilers for info, here's a couple of thing that bothered me...

Despite the somewhat cheesy title and zero cost, I expected this story to be the most boring short story ever. I was extremely impressed and surprised to discover that I couldn’t turn off my Kindle until I read the last page…..and then I wanted to purchase the next one immediately!

Delilah’s Diary is about a young, inexperienced married woman who walks into her house unexpectedly one morning, to find her husband in bed with another woman. It sounds very cliché, I know, but what unfolds after that is truly intriguing. Delilah is met by rather interesting characters on her journey back to the single life. After filing for divorce, she proceeds to get a makeover, go out on a night on the town with new friends, and then she begins travelling.

When I thought all the excitement of the story was over, I realized it was only just beginning. From the lady on the bus, to the two homosexuals she met along the way, Delilah’s Diary was a very enjoyable read from beginning to end.

Here are a few excerpts from the story I wanted to share:

“It ain’t the end of the world, you know. Just the end of the world you knew.”

Susan brushed a lock of my waist-length mouse-brown hair out of my eye. It was a grandmother’s gesture, and it made me feel better.

I couldn’t figure out how to handle them, if I should treat them like men, or women, or both, or neither…they seemed to be a complex amalgam of both genders, somehow, and it made my head spin.

“You’re the new you.”

“Why is everyone looking at me?” I whispered.

George answered. “Number one, because you look fabulous. And number two, because you’re with us, and we’re fabulous.”

“Shouldn’t we, like, mingle or something?” I asked.

George laughed. “No way, honey. We let them come to us.”

George scanned the crowd again, and this time pointed out a different man, taller, harder looking, with looser and more casual clothes.

“Now look at him,” George said, pointing discreetly with one finger from around his drink. “See the way his clothes are a little big? His jeans don’t hug his ass, which is a nice one, by the way. And his nails are cut, but roughly. He’s dreamy, but completely straight. Look at his stance. Feet apart, about shoulder width, one hand in his pocket and the other holding his beer.”

I lowered my hands down the ridges of his spine and the hard creases of muscle along his back. Now I was touching him just above the waistband of his jeans.

Dare I?

Oh yes, I dared.

His body was chiselled from flesh-covered granite.

I can’t wait to read the second book in this series! Hopefully my heart can take it….lol!

Read my full review here on my blog

This is something I picked from my Kindle library because of its short length. It seems most of the short books on my Kindle are erotic. I found that this book made a great bedtime read because of this. The plot is easy to follow, it's easy to read, and quick to finish.

I'm not sure if this plot is typical in erotica or chick-lit, so I can't comment on its freshness. The background or beginning of the story seems a little bizarre. A man stays with the same woman for years despite having no sexual desire for her, but cheats with numerous other women. Then they get married and he still has no desire for her. On the other blame hand, the female character is apparently a good little Christian girl who doesn't know better. I don't find the religious part convincing at all - I just didn't feel the cheating exposure would magically make a woman, who has followed a strict morality the whole of her life, to magically forget or disregard it. Surely she would be more worried about sinning and going to hell? But I think that's a little too deep for erotic, so I let that slide.

I find a lot of things difficult to believe in this book. Regardless of all the issues, this book was all right for a quick read and, to be honest, I really wasn't expecting much when I started to read it. The frank writing style sometimes felt inconsistent with the character herself, but it was somewhat amusing.

This was part of a box-set I bought, and even thought it's the last book of the box-set I read it first. I wanted quick, easy, make you go awh book to read before bed. This is not that book.

It started off very well and made me laugh in parts, but by the time I finished reading it I was like oh my word I need a mind scrub.

The main character is apparently a small town girl who in 8 years of marriage has never had an orgasm, touched her husbands penis or drank tequila. Because you know they don't have shots in small towns, no that you only find in Chicago apparently.

There are some many issues with this book. The first big one is that is a part one of three, so it's not really a full book or novella should I say. I don't mind short books but don't let it end unfinished so I have to buy your other two. That just drives me bonkers and no, I will not be reading the other two. The others are: her sister sleeps with her husband, she doesn't know how to treat gay or bisexual people because it makes her head spin; gets a divorce in three days and leaves him the house, stocks and investments because she cleared out their bank account that had 20 grand in it. Lets see a house vs 20 grand?? I mean really. Tells this guy she met it's like I'm a virgin anyway because my sex life has been so bad. Believes him when he says he's clean I'm tested regularly, nothing to worry about - I'd ask why is he tested regularly?

It's so bad. I didn't feel anything about the two characters.

Well, that wasn't what I was expecting. Generally, these freebie romances on Amazon are just all about the sex. And you'd think that something called "A Sexy Journey" would be chock full of it. But shockingly, the book actually spent time developing the main character, following her as she slowly comes out of her sheltered lifestyle, and gradually builds up to a sex scene at the end.

It's just...I'm not used to so much character development in these sorts of books. Or any at all, really.

Delilah's a woman from a small town, and after finding out that pretty much every woman her age has slept with her husband at some point, while she's been the perfect little wife, she just snaps. She grabs everything she owns, empties her bank account, and takes off.

She meets an older woman on the bus to Chicago, who advises her to go out and live, especially since Delilah's never even kissed a man who wasn't her husband. Delilah takes the woman's words to heart, gets a complete makeover, and decides that she's going to have fun for once in her life.

Just not too much fun.

As she sees more of the world, Delilah starts to shed off the outdated prejudices she was raised to believe, and starts letting people and situations speak for themselves.

I would also like to congratulate the book for only using the phrase "down there" once.

Picked up while free on Kindle.

Much longer than expected at 260 pages; strangely the other two books follow Jasinda Wilder's normal marketing scheme of 99 cents and 2.99 - each about 50 pages (first book free). So even if you buy the other two - you would have purchased over 350 pages for just about $4 - a reasonable price to repay the author for the story she takes you on.

The author's has a format of three erotica books, with the woman POV in first person. Each of her (series) women comes from a unique history, but her language is repetitive therefore reading a lot of her books on the same day gets boring. (Only so many bulge behind the zipper I can take.)

Delilah's back history is filled in wonderfully with the full 260 pages, allowing more than the erotica meetup most of Ms. Wilder's book have. Still I found Delilah to be rather a bland person. And the story became even more bland once we moved from her transformation journey(a small-town jilted wife leaving everything behind) to her sexual exploration. Strangely the sex scene to me was boring. I usually do not have this reaction to Ms. Wilder's manuscripts.

If you like Ms. Wilder's type of story's, you should see if "A Sexy Journey" is one you want to take. After all, the first one is free. I am stopping at the end of book one for this journey.

When Delilah finds her husband in bed with the pastor’s wife, and finds out that he’s bedded everyone in the small town including her sister, she decides that she needs an adventure; a chance to discover herself. So she packs her bags, gets a makeover and heads overseas.
***
Hmmm… I’ve read a few Wilder books and she can write so this one is a bit of a mystery. Early stuff? Maybe.
Our heroine is supposed to be small town Christian, doesn’t masturbate, or swear or know what a bisexual is. She’s also supposed to be the editor-in-chief of the local newspaper but she seems pretty unintelligent.
*hand wobble*
And then she does and says things that just don’t fit with that. And there are other inconsistencies.
The gays who swoop in like fairy godmothers and do the makeover for free… it’s almost offensive, the way she described them.
She freaks when a sexy architect kisses her, and rushes off to Italy to pick up a random guy she met in the street.
*makes pained expression* it’s fantasy - I know, but… and it’s a serial, so it ends at an odd place.

I am so enjoying Delilah's journey to finding herself.

Though she's been married for 8 years, she really is very inexperienced. Her marriage and sex life, was everything but exciting, sexy, and hot. Her husband never made her feel pretty, or wanted, but she knew no other way.

After she finds out that her husband has slept with half of the town, she decides to leave him and find herself.

She gives herself a new look, and that helps her self esteem. She had never felt sexy, or beautiful, but her new transformation, is a start. I does still take time for her to feel sexy and beautiful, but I think she will find the confidence she needs.

She goes to Rome, to find herself, and in her new adventure she finds Luca, who I feel will make her feel like a beautiful, sexy woman for the first time of her life.

I guess I'll have to read La Vita Sexy, and find out. I think I'll go do that right now.

This was the first Jasinda Wilder book that i've read and in the last week i've read like one book per day and loved them all!
This book has a great start...the going apeshit (love the word and everything it intitles) and the Michael Kors sheets...such a woman thing! And it made me laugh so much...
Love the mane Delilah for a book character, for me is a mane that speaks of sinful delights :)
This book reminded me of how much i loved Rome and how if you're single or even if you're not Rome is the City to see beautiful, smelling very good men... LMAO
Love the new gay friends...every woman should have them ir they're life. We sometimes tend to overthink and they put things in perpective!
I think this book to be a message of hope...meaning, sometimes in live you have to have something kindda awfull happening to you to see your life and youself from a different perpective.
Like the music says 'dust yourself up and try again'... :)

Delilah's Diary is exciting, so far.

I was expecting a journey and it seemed promising. I laughed through her naivete and related to her. I spent several moments reading and double taking the words during the sex scene; sexy and tasteful writing. I just didn't want her to get all hooked on the first guy though. But, hey, when it that amazing, it's amazing. I just wanted her to ...not be a slut, bumping every guy she met, but I don't think it's fair for her to fall for the first guy she met on a road to self discovery after a 8 year marriage. It's her second chance at exploring what she never had a chance to and I was thinking she would experience more before meeting Mr. Perfect. I still love the story so far, but reading the descriptions of the next two books, it seems like she hadn't much time of freedom. But, what the hell. I love the way Jasinda Wilder thinks. Definitely gonna purchase the next two parts.

Quick read! Took about an hour to complete reading the first part. And highly recommended to those whom have suffered a bastard husband who slept with every female in a small town. In this setting, taking place in Illinois. Or needing to recovery inner- you with increased confidence, both emotionally and physically. Regardless of reason to want to read this ebook, Delilah catches her husband, Harry in bed with the pastors wife. Later discovering, Harry also sleeping with Delilah's sibling and other women in the small town. Finally gathering courage, Delilah waltz on a journey. Which meeting two gay men named George and Jose. And vacationing out to Italy, meets Luca but will Delilah feel safe enough to meet Luca's parents? And to make matters more complicated, Delilah's has never even been with another man besides her first love. This all begins with a trip to Chicago!

So, Delilah catchers her husband in bed with the pastor's wife and she does the sensible thing, she cleans out their bank account and takes off to see the world. She meets some wonderful people who help to make her over. Her journey really starts in Italy, where she meets Luca.

The story really begins where it leaves off. This is a short novella. I'm not a huge fan of novella's especially when you first get into them and then bam they end. Which is what happens here. She meets Luca, he invites her to come with him to his home and meet his family. He gives her a lesson in the art of love and Delilah is torn. Should she run again or should she stay and see where this is going?

This was just okay for me. Its not something I'm excited to continue with.

Delilah was the hometown good girl. She did everything right was faithful, loyal, and never did or said one bad thing. One day she had to go home unexpectedly and found something life altering. Her husband in bed with the church secretary...then learning things a little further. She decided to leave her small town and small town life to explore bigger and better things.

This is a short novella in a series of three. It's a cute story short and sweet and hopefully the next two are as well. I applaud Delilah in her choice to move on and discover who she really is outside of her small town and her husband, who happens to be the only man she has been with. I will definitely be reading more from Jasinda Wilder.

Tiny Novellas cost $4 for the trilogy or stop after book 1 to a cliffhangar.

There were parts I really enjoyed and some I didn't.

For starters, this "series" are novellas. These are more like 5 chapters followed by a cliffhangar
And hate to tell you, its the same cliffhangar in books 1 and 2. Her "innocence" is too much and became boring. The characters that were introduced could have provided more to the story and were never seen again after book 1.

The writing was ok, but her "freakouts" were annoying.

Good enough to carry on to book 2 though, which luckily was only 99 cents. I should have looked ahead, book 3 is $2.99 which I think is too much for a novella. If I hadn't already read Book 2, I wouldn't have continued on at that price.

This ebook was sexy and a bit funny. How would you feel if you saved yourself for your husband and he was the only man you had ever been with your entire life, and then you come home and find him in bed with the pastor's wife and in fact, the entire town! I think you'd probably lose it too. Though, I think I probably would've reacted far worse than Delilah did!! Anyway, she ends up leaving town and meeting friends along the way that help her discover a more fulfilling life! The only bad thing I can say about this book is it was over WAY too soon. It left me begging for more! Though I will warn those that can't handle adult words about body parts or adult acts, this isn't the book for ya sweetie.

Sweet Jesus, Jasinda!

If orgasms could be put into words, they would be written by Jasinda Wilder. I mean, seriously!

The only reason I didn't give this book five stars was because it wasn't long enough (that's what she said). Otherwise? Delicious! (**EDIT**: I realized there are sequels, so I'm changing my rating!)

As an avid reader, I rarely read every word of a book. I skim, infer and draw conclusions. But with this one, I devoured every single letter bite-by-bite. Such beautiful, erotic flavor Luca gives us. I could nearly hear each syllable he said with his Italian accent.

Now...you just need to finish Delilah's story, Jasinda!

Really way too quick of an ending.
The author has written 3 stories in this series which would be better off an one whole book rather than individual short stories.

I did enjoy it though and felt empathy for Delilah. It is a great introduction for the following parts which is written well.

I love when she starts to think differently and says dirty words out loud and masturbates for the first time. It is a symbol for modern women to take their own sexuality into their own hands, about time she realised her body was there for her to enjoy and not her cheating no good husband who never deserved her.
