Recent college grad Leila Montgomery has her sights set on Whitmore and Creighton, a PR agency for the rich and famous. While she's interviewing for a position she's overqualified for, she's determined to get her foot in the door by any means necessary--but she didn't count on accidentally mouthing off to the enigmatic billionaire at the helm of the company, Jacob Whitmore.
After a hot tryst in the stairwell, he makes Leila a proposition--be his personal assistant and private submissive. Saying no could cost her dream job and a place among the wealthy and elite. But saying yes could cost so much more...
The Billionaire's Contract is part one of the His Submissive series.
Ava Claire is a sucker for Alpha males and happily ever afters. When not putting pen to paper or glued to her Kindle, Ava likes road tripping, karaoke, and vintage fashion.
I bought the all in one set of this series.. so I'm reading the entire set.. this first installment was a little strange.. how they met, how quickly he let her know she was gonna be his sub.... just.. felt odd. I'll stick with it for now though and see how it goes.
Well isn't this a little gem. Every girls dream, except with the addition of the Dom/sub contract being offered to a new employee on her first day.
Meeting a handsome billionaire & getting dream job with all the perks, is definitely what all of us dream about. Just the first meeting between Leila (interviewee) & Jacob (hot billionaire), was so off centre. Next time someone male bumps into me, I'm gonna give him a closer look, ha.
Would seem as to most people that work at this PR company she could almost be invisible. But yet the big boss, sees her & really sees what she can be. Now can she do & be what he wants. Chemistry a pleanty in this the first instalment. What an offer.
A short story that will link together. The author has done well to bring the characters out & instill a connection with me the reader. I have a good undrstanding with romance novels on all levels, I have read quite a vast range & enjoy being able to instantly connect & care & focus on what is happening.
I like the originality of the content so far. I'm a romantic, but a sceptic of true life sometimes, so I enjoy my fantasy reading to be over the top sometimes. Now for the 2nd in this series, can't wait.
What the heck did I just read? She bumps into him, he dragged her upstairs and tells her that she is curious and has not earned sex and tells her to call him Jacob and then goes and talks with the original person who is suppose to interview her and tells her she is overly qualified and is being so cold towards her and then tells her to call him Mr. Whitemore.
Next day she is taken to his office and he is throwing out so many damn, stupid commands, trying to get her to do a million things at once. Read this contract, touch yourself, looking under the chair, this, that and the other. Will you calm the hell down!
Gosh!
What in the world was the author trying to accomplish? Yes it was too short but I would rather the author take her time and start a build up rather than this mess she published. How the heck are you going to tell someone they are curious about something and you only met them two seconds ago? I would understand him saying that after some chapters and they have had their incidents of bumping into each other or her walking in on him or something.
But no. With this, the author probably has a hard time with first chapters and just wanted to get it out of the way for the sake of just getting to the story. That was a hot mess.

I would have given it no stars if that was possible. All I had in mind when I read this was sexual assault, sexual harassment, and sheer stupidity. The only redeeming aspect of the book was the writing, which flowed well. Just that the content was improbable, if not impossible. It's like a terrible version of Bared to you, or FSOG. Except the circumstance is even more impossible. The story is nowhere near as good.
Guess that's why it was free. And it was a "part 1" of many, which means it's a cheap trick to get you to pay for more books.
nothing different, story that has been hashed out so much. You know the blurb - Ive got another 11 episodes to read so lets see it this does have anything different to add to the other parts.
Ok not a bad start but the start was borderline sexual assault. But it's ok as he's a hunk? Made me feel uncomfortable but I will continue on for now. Read up to part 5. Can't say it gets any better. A chapter a book is basically what you getting. Not going to continue further...
Part 1 of the series and roughly about 32 pages long.
Not bad, in 32 pages she sets up the characters, has an intresting "interview", and then the contract to sign. I look forward to the next part.
So Leila Montgomery just graduated from college and shows up for an interview for a researcher position. She get knocked into by a guy, then after having words he practically drags her into a stairwell followed up by an orgasm. So anyway she goes to the intrview and makes an impression by stating she will start at the bottom and work herself to the top. She gets hired. The first day she is running around like a gopher, getting this fetching that when dun dun dunnn the boss walks up. He takes her to his office and offers her a postion as his personal assistant and its comes with a contract to be his submissive. It ends with him telling her they are traving overseas.
My take is: A good story so far. Unrealistic to me but I'm sure its real in someones world just not mine. I wish I had intrviews go so well but ce la' vie.

I really don't know how to put this; and don't ask me how I felt this, but here it is..
I think the author has a lot of love for the BDSM idea and you can feel from the writing, which was good.. however, you feel like there's something abrupt/rushed about this story.
I mean, it's like this is a crash course on how to breeze through a BDSM novel!
This could have gone way better than this, even though it's a novella, I think this could have had a high potential.
I purchased the entire series and read it as one book (to read them one by one would have seriously annoyed me). I thoroughly enjoyed the series especially the fact that the BDSM was low-key and there was a story and other characters to it (a lot of the books lately are just soft-core porn). Thank you very much for a very enjoyable book that I couldn't put down until I finished the last page, Ava. You did yourself proud. xxx
I read this book on iBooks and I could not put it down. I think that Claire put a great book together especially for someone like me who had no idea about the dominant and submissive type relationships.
It's kinda of "same story different characters" for me so far. The female mc's is not likeable (typical mom is a bitch and no girls like her because she is soooo smart & beautiful). We haven't met any secondary characters that might make us warm up to her. You know, like a bestie that tells her to pull her head out of her ass once in awhile. The story itself is very far fetched and maybe moving too fast to be believed. That's one reason I don't enjoy a shorter story, the author is forced to a pace that makes me feel like I missed a prequel. I do like a story where the male mc's is filthy rich and crosses the line, for that reason alone I will read book 2 and pray for the best.
This Novella is basically the start of fifty shades. You have the extremely handsome billionaire and the post uni girl trying to pay her rent. She's over quilified for the job in his firm but is desperate to work their so takes what is given. Its the first part of 12 definitely a to be continued. This is what it is nothing more nothing less I really don't like stories broke up into bite size pieces I don't see the point and if you were to pay for all 12 parts well save the money and borrow a copy of fifty shades from the library if you haven't already got a copy
Did i just skip some pages or something ?? or the story is kindda weird? ? TOTAL waste of my pre-fucking-cious time, what the hell was it, i still dont understand. The heroine was the dumbest heroine in the history of books. I didn't even like the hero, he was so fucking pathetic. IF u are a fan of love stories with bold-fearless heroine nd insanely-handsome-alpha heroes with some awesome story, then please dont even think of reading this one, because trust me this one will definitely ruine your mood.
I read this book in less than an hour. While it was good and kept me on the edge of my seat it was over way too quickly. It felt like a 15 page novelette. Disappointed at the length of the “part 1” in the series but happy with the story line.
