This was one of the more difficult reads add among the manga I've encountered. The story of a little girl trapped in dreamland, as a step preceding either her salvation or her death, was comprehensible. But Iwaoka also builds a comprehensive dreamland, at times filled with of creatures whose goals are difficult to grasp. Overall, I did not like the story. I enjoyed several of the questions--- about meaning, damnation, etc.--- but did not feel much about the answers--- which I guess are aimed at a younger add audience. I did like some of the graphical part.
The highlight of this manga was for me the seeing of scenes. Iwaoka uses several difficult techniques, such as a pointillist approach to drawing lost souls and a fisheye one- and two-point view for several of the crowded scenes. I also loved the child-like characters, who seem to gain in substance at the right--- intense--- moments.

You'll think this is just a sweet book about a girl and her dreams. The answer is: NO! It's a sad and emotional book about death, memories and about to have the courage to face and move on in life. An amazing manga that will leave you breathless and lot's of tears, so don't forget to have some tissues nearby.

Sweet and melancholic. There are still a few kanji in this book that I can't read, so I'm looking forward to returning to it in the future.

The Depths of Dreams is a warm-hearted and moving story about a girl who falls asleep so deeply one night that she ends up in the place where dreams come from. She doesn't know how to get home but is offered a job in a small supermarket that has appeared out of nowhere. A shop, where feelings that could not be expressed are preserved in jars, and which is visited by lost souls who cannot leave the world of dreams. source: https://www.bokus.com/bok/97891852690...
This manga series is hard to fins in english, but i translated so it's easier to understand the plot. I came into this manga novel to be heartfelt, which it was but sloely we saw a raw message that i could realate to. Love how Iwaoka could put this into middle-grade manga novel.
The journey the girl goes trhough is such an interesting one, but there felt like there were some plot holes that i can not exactly remember. But i found this novel to be interesting to keep me reading, and the world was interesting and brought another way to see dreams in. I recommend it for people trying to an easy read and deep message.

The first manga I ever finished.
I like animes, and I didn't really know about manga. It's a completely different style than the coloured comics I'm used to. I kinda of was missing the colouring... Apart from that, it's a beautiful, echanting story, somewhat comforting and really, really sweet and soft :)
