When journalist Helene La Borde overhears a chance conversation on a train, she becomes implicated in one of the great cover-ups in history.

Chased from her home, her first clue about the people trying to kill her is at a drug-fumed house among the surfers of Hawaii’s North Shore. Her second clue is revealed by a Shinto priest in Japan, and the third clue – or possibly a dangerous red herring – by an IT and security specialist in Bahrain.

When she lands in the bizarre twilight world of conspiracy-theorist super-hackers on America’s West Coast, the danger is chillingly real.

Along for the ride is ex-mercenary Charlie Paget. But Helene begins to wonder if he is protecting her or using her.

When government agents do more than threaten, Helene is forced to tell everything she knows, or thinks she knows. A final chase through New York’s Holland Tunnel gets Helene to her publishing agent, and the chance to tell her story – if she dares. Helene’s personal cost is high.

Set against the backdrop of international finance, government debt and the murky world of computer hackers, ‘Exposure’ is a fast-paced, intelligent thriller that will appeal to readers of crime, as well as action adventure fiction.

A thriller that will appeal to readers of ‘The Ghost’.

What a roller coaster ride! I had no idea where this book was going from start to finish. It's fantastic thriller that starts when a journalist overhears a conversation on a train. Helene was a kick-ass lead. For one, she's closing in on fifty, with no family and her career has been her life. I loved the author wrote a strong, interesting lead like this and she had not "missed" out on life by not having kids or a successful marriage. She wasn't broken or empty waiting for love. She was too busy living her life and career. There was a ton of threads that the author eventually tied all together but I never guessed a thing! It was that well done. This author. I can not rave enough about her. Every story I've read of hers has been entirely different from any others. I'm making my way through all her books. She's one of my favs and once again this story proved why! The ending was totally not what I expected to happen. I wanted it to go a different way, but it was totally clever and very fitting of the story and for days I've been wondering about Charlie. Sigh. I'll never fully know. Great entertaining read!
