Really?

You have a story about a girl who thinks she’s going crazy and has a guy who’s completely in love with her and THIS is all you could come up with?

 photo 1212pn.gif

You daredevil, you.

 photo tumblrma3xxoh0xz1rvt8d8.gif

Dear Ella,

When you have a guy like Micha who’s gorgeous, loyal, and completely DEVOTED to you… and you can’t make up your mind as to whether you want to be with him, so you keep having sex with him and then keep telling him that you and he are just strictly friends… and then confess that you love him the next day… and then just repeat everything that I just describe?

Yes, sweetheart… you can stop questioning whether or not you’re crazy.

Sincerely,

Ash ~ The Book Snob.

I mean, SERIOUSLY!

That’s all this book was!

Ella running away.
Micha chasing her.

Frustratingly Fascinating!!

I can tell you nearly every star is for the most patient, forgiving man on the planet, named Micha. Not to mention sexy as all get out and every girl’s dream boyfriend!

I truly grew to love Ella in the novella and the first book of this series, but this girl just gave me pure whiplash and a major headache. I mean ... for crying out loud ... make up your mind already!

Just when Micha and Ella finally seem to get on the same page on where their relationship is heading, Ella throws Micha a curve ball, abruptly ending their romance.

Let me elaborate ... She ends their dating relationship only wanting to be friends, until the next day she changes her mind, followed by the next day of changing her mind again, and again.

Ella is a young woman who is broken and depressed, and is doing her best to “fix” herself. She was never really loved as a child and doesn’t trust herself to love others, nor to love herself. Ella honestly, just wants to be everything Micha deserves.

So the back and forth craziness begins. Honestly it is no wonder Micha has a drinking problem!

Okay, so maybe his drinking isn’t ALL Ella’s fault. He does have demons of his own he is trying to slay.

Thank the stars, Ella totally redeems herself by the end, but still no official HEA. There are two more books to go in this series, so who knows what she’ll do next to drive me batty ;) Guess I will find out shortly.

This is a train wreck I am totally addicted to!

Ella and Micha have been through a lot. Both individually and together. Neither one has had an easy life, but they’ve always had each other. After all they have over come, they are finally together. Not just friends, but actually with one another. Things should be great for them, easy, they deserve it. But distance makes things difficult for these two.

 photo 3f14fd73-92fa-4af0-86b2-53559c107b4b_zps25b95773.jpg
Ella is it for me. The way I feel about her is never going to change. I will love her forever.

Micha is touring with his band. He just got a great opportunity, so he is in New York, across the country from his girlfriend Ella. Ella is more than a girlfriend to Micha. She is his best friend, his soulmate. Someone he knows he will spend the rest of his life with. He knows all about Ella’s family problems, guilt etc. and all he wants is to be there for her.
I’ll always be with you, inside and out, through hard times and helpless ones, through love, through doubt.

 photo c41de5ea-604d-4a06-a0a0-60d8051010f2_zps9e311baf.jpg
He was the one thing that brought me back out of my dark place. If he leaves me, I’m not sure I can hold on to the light.

Ella is still in Vegas, going to college. She feels the same way about Micha as he does about her. She loves him more than anything, but things with Ella are complicated. The distance is hard on her. Not only that, but her head is a mess. She feels broken. Not good enough for Micha. She isn’t in a good place and she doesn’t want to drag him with her, so she tries to let him go. She really feels like it is best for him.
God, why does my head have to be broken?

 photo 7f0a66db-9018-4dac-ba37-a23ef24064ae_zps1e6335d1.jpg
I understood some of what Ella was going through, and I did sympathize with her. At the same time, it drove me crazy. She just couldn’t stop pushing Micha away. She never wanted to hurt him, but she felt like thats the only way she could get her self together.
People never mean to do things that are hurtful, yet sometimes it just happens, through an intense moment, through brief rationalization, or by simply speaking words that only belong insides on head.
Or simply by giving up for a second.
People hurt each other all the time.

Micha realizes exactly what Ella is doing, and he won’t let her go that eaisly. She can’t be with him, but she is trying to still be his friend and going to therapy to get herself together.
I need to become a person we can both love; otherwise we’ll never make it.

Luckily, through all this drama Ella and Micha had their best friends to help them. Did I mention how much I loved Lila and Ethan in this book? YES! They were both fantastic and I am now more excited than ever to get their book! Lila is eventually able to talk some sense into Ella.
“Ella, when are you going to realize that you two belong together? Everyone who lays eyes on you can see it and is envious of it because that kind of love isn’t supposed to exist.”

“What kind of love are you talking about?”

“The kind of love that owns you. The kinds where you know the other person inside and out. Where you can go through hell and back and still make it out okay.”

Ella does get herself together. She even gets some closure with her family situation. Ella realizes how much she wants and needs Micha in her life. He is it for her.
I want someone to be mine forever- I want Micha.

And all I wanted to do was scream... ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!

I enjoyed this book. I did. It was frustrating at times, but over all I was happy to get more Ella and Micha... well, mostly more Micha. Micha is the BEST kind of guy. He is sweet, sexy, kind, understanding and just all around perfect for Ella. His life hasn’t been peachy either, but he really tries to make the best of things. Micha will straight up steal your heart! Ella was such a wonderful heroine in the first book. I loved her to pieces... I know she is damaged, she has issues. I get it, I really do. So many times I just wanted to yell at her. Especially when . I forgive her though, and by the end, I loved her again. I was happy with the conclusion of the story- Jessica Sorensen’s writing is amazing. My wish is that we would have gotten an longer epilogue, or gotten to see a little further into their future. But who knows- maybe in The Temptation of Lila and Ethan we will get a glimpse further into their future ;) Although I didn’t love this one as much as the first, it was still a good read for me!

1 1/2–BIG WASTE OF TIME–Stars

description

I'm not going to waste my time writing a review for a book that I did NOT like! I will say that this sequel is a good example of authors not knowing when to leave a good thing alone!
Luckily, the author somewhat made up for this mess of a story with book three, which reads more like an extended epilogue.

"That's All" Ash summed up my feeling perfectly in her review of this book.

MICHA SCOTT Look at those eyes, that lip ring...Oh Micha ❤❤❤❤singer, song-writer, guitar player .... Swoon ❤

I don't even want to explain how it hurts my book heart to not give this book 5 stars. Although, Ella in most parts of this book was an EPIC FAIL to me......Micha ❤definitely delivered. It cut me deep to see less than magnanimous reviews of this book about their FOREVER as I loved "The Secret of Ella and Micha" with all my heart. Seriously all of it. Micha ❤has been my reining book boyfriend for the longest time.....since like November 2012. You know since I'm fickle. This is HUGE!

MICHA ❤His level of GREATNESS can not even be expressed. He was perfect.

His weakness :

ELLA DANIELS

and boy did she bring him low..on a repetitive daily basis..It made me want to

cut-a-bitch

..She loved breaking his heart into little pieces.....taking mine with it.....

So the story opens up with Ella having these recurrent dreams:

Every night I have the same dream. Micha and I are standing on opposite ends of the bridge. Micha extends his hand and I walk toward him, but he slips away from me until he lands up on the railing of the bridge. He teeters in the wind and I want to save him, but my feet won't budge. A gust of wind slams into him and he falls backward, vanishing into the darkness. I wake up screaming full of guilt

It feels like we're slipping away from each other, and he was the one thing that brought me back out of my dark place. If he leaves me, I'm not sure I can hold onto the light

Micha is touring with his band and it leads him to New York. Ella is in Vegas. I get it people, distance sucks but COME ON.....you've been each others rock since you were children. A little distance....Its a bridge you can handle. This is the beginning of when things went all wrong for me with Ella. I totally wanted to understand where she was coming from...depression, guilt, fear...but some decisions she made...I was not a fan! She broke the cardinal rule !!! No recovery !!!

uggggggggg WHY ? Why would you just obliterate a genuine heart ? And then go from this intense love....to ...."let's just be friends"...

WTF????? NO NO NO NO NO NO

I'm letting him go. Cutting the strings. Because I love him that much

I need to become a person we both can love; otherwise we'll never make it

I want him to hate me, just as mush as I hate myself. That way I can't bring him down with me

SCREAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she SLICED OPEN Micha's heart!!!!

See because Micah believes in this...LOVE....
THE KIND OF LOVE THAT OWNS YOU. THE KIND WHERE YOU KNOW THE OTHER PERSON INSIDE AND OUT. WHERE YOU CAN GO THROUGH HELL AND BACK AND STILL MAKE IT OUT OK

Ella is it for me. The way I feel about her is never going to change. I will love her forever, but I need her closer to me, not thousands of miles away. How am I supposed to tell her, though, that I'm ready to begin her future, when I know she has no clue what her future is yet?

OH MY GOD...my book heart was not happy...I had so many things Ella said highlighted but then when i re-read....

still induced the same....eye-rolling and wanting to vomit blood....

I cant even go into how much redemption she needed to make good with me!!! I tried to be compassionate because of the situation but....time after time....I just screamed

GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER PRETTY GIRL

ok my rant is done. I am no longer going to rehash bad memories. I am going to end this with some big Micha ❤love because that is what he deserves....Mental images...to eradicate the nerve-triggering moments

finally never too late for some Ella redemption....she put that RING on .....

Wow I needed those pictures....I needed to leave this page with a case of the FEEL GOODS

Micha's still got it......he was all-around perfect. Luckily....he got his Forever

4 Forever and ever and ever, but I needed 5 magnanimous Micha Stars !!!

“You left me, ripped out my heart, and then came back acting like a robot, and you know what? We made it through. You and I, good or bad, belong together. We make each other whole.”

I love the way this book is written in alternate POV’s. The only reason why I couldn’t give this 5 stars was because of the Ending. I needed more.. it felt rushed and unfinished somehow…

This Book picks up from The Secret of Ella and Micha, where Ella is back at school and Micha is touring the country with his band.
They are thousands of miles apart and miss each other terribly and they are both miserable without each other.

Ella wont tell Micha to give up his dream and nor will Micha tell Ella to leave school. When they find ways to meet each other everything is perfect.

Micha...

"Ella is it for me. The way I feel about her is never going to change. I will love her forever, but I need her closer to me, not thousands of miles away."

Ella...

Their chemistry is electrifying!

“When his lips return to mine, it's not just about lust or desire - it's about making us whole.”

But all good things must come to an end… and Ella must go back to school and Micha will continue his touring.

"It isn’t as important to feel great about all the things we do,” I say softly. “But how we feel toward the end when we look back at everything we’ve done.”

When Ella gets a call to say her father is out of rehab, she goes into panic! Only this time she doesn’t want to call Micha to help her because she needs to do these things on her own--- finding a way home to go back to her drunken father.

"I hate to say this Ella, but your father is fucking weak. He can’t blame what he does on anyone but himself. And I’m not him and you’re not your mom. Just because their story ended badly doesn’t mean our will.”"

Ella is struggling within herself with her ghosts of her past, what happened that night…
She feels alone… and the only one she wants by her side is Micha.
Again she refuses to call him with her problems and drag him down so she feels like she needs to set him fre

Free of her problems and her messed up head.
She needs Micha to be happy. She loves him that much to let him go..

"I’m letting him go. Cutting the strings. Because I love him that much."

So she lies to Micha and breaks his heart and breaks hers too in the process…

“Ella, when are you going to realize that you two belong together? Everyone who lays eyes on you can see it and is envious of it because that kind of love isn't supposed to exist."

"What kind of love are you talking about?"

"The kind of love that owns you. The kind where you know the other person inside and out. Where you can go through hell and back and still make it out ok.”

Ella goes through a deep depression, has an emotional breakdown and suffers a lot with her mental issues. She sees a therapist through it all and every answer to anything leads to Micha…
Her Rock..

Micha is so heart broken, he cannot believe what Ella told him and still then he loves her…

"When she’s ready, she’ll tell… at least I hope. But what if she doesn’t? What if I’ve spent my life chasing a ghost?"

We get glimpses into the past of Ella and Micha as kids and even before they got together they probably loved each other.

“That's because you loved me. You just didn't know it yet."

"You didn't know it either. You were just as blind as me.”

The rest of the book we see Micha and Ella working through their problems… Both of them have problems with their pasts and families.

There is a lot of back and forth with Ella and it is frustrating at times because we know how deep the love she has for Micha is.

"I’m sorry, pretty girl, but you really don’t get to choose what I want, what I do, or who I get to be with. So unless you want me to leave you because you don’t love me anymore, I’m not going anywhere."

It got a bit irritating that Ella is running and Micha is the one running after her most of the time.

"I love him so much there are no words to describe it. I’m extremely lucky to have him. I make a promise to myself that I will work on giving him what he wants and try to make him happy."

But that’s just how Micha is… and how he feels… these two have such a deep bond and connection and can read each others mind like no other.

"For the rest of my life?” His voice softens. “Do you want that, Ella May? Do you want me eternally, infinitely, forever, till death do us part?”"

"It will, and you want to know why?” I ask and she nods. “Because most people go into this blind. They don’t know the bad side of the person they’re with. But we know each other’s flaws and cracks—we know what we’re getting into and that makes us stronger"

"Like how I know that right now you want to leave. Not because you don’t love me, but because you’re scared. Scared you can’t do it. Scared you’ll hurt me. Scared you’ll actually be happy about what I’m going to ask you.”

This is an unforgettable love story filled with many emotions… acceptance… recovery…hope… and FOREVER

ROUNDING UP TO 2.5 STARS.

The Forever of Ella and Micha is the 2nd book in The Secret trilogy, and to be honest i'm a little disappointed with it since i thought the first book was really good, and this one didn't exactly reach my expectations. So yeah, i was let down.

When Ella and Micha are together everything seems possible, but now they are miles apart.

Ella has be through a lot and is still trying to overcome her past for a chance of a better future. Will she succeed?

Micha is busy touring the country with his band, but instead of fully enjoying himself doing what he loves, missing Ella is tearing him apart. He wants her with him, but will not ask her to leave collage and everyone behind for him.

Sacrifices have to be made to get them the 'forever' they want.... but is there such thing as an everlasting love?

"What kind of love are you talking about?"
"The kind of love that owns you. The kind where you know the other person inside and out. Where you can go through hell and back and still make it out ok.”

Let me start from Micha.
About 20% through the book i'm thinking "Who the FUCK are you, and what have you done to my Micha?"
I did not even recognize him and thought he changed quite a lot.
I swear all he nearly thought about was sex, and to be honest that's really all that happened between him and Ella. I liked that there was more 'action' between them, but seriously, after a while it gets annoying. We get enough guys that think and act like Micha in the real world, thank you very much.

Ella
...ermm... lets just say at times i really did think she was a little bit crazy (you know, just a tiny bit *cough*). And omg, i HATED with all my heart the therapy sessions she went to.
NOT a big fan of therapists, just reading about them makes me want to punch the wall and destroy everything.
At times i did indeed like Ella.
I think she is the kind of protagonist most readers have a love/hate relationship with

The ending was cute and i liked it.
It was heartwarming to see how Ella and her family slowly fix their relationship. But i admit i kind of hate her brother - what an asshole.

Having the paperback version i was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of Lila and Ethan's story, which I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT! It's going to be amazing, i can tell ;)

Overall, this was a nice love story about moving on, forgiving, and perhaps second chances. The 3rd book (The Ever After of Ella and Micha) is coming out 3rd Dec 2013, and i'm definitely in for the ride!

3.5 Micha Stars!!!

I absolutely loved and adored The secret of Ella and Micha, it left me with a real book hangover and I've been counting down the months for it to come out I was like......

 photo laughinggif_zps61257f48.gif

However I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped!!

We begin there story pretty much where we left from, Ella is struggling her guilt with her past and all that she has to deal with her father.

 photo foreverellaandmicha_zps7b6bc7fb.jpg

Ella and Micha have been best friends since they were kids, they know each other inside and out, and they make each other whole.

"The kind where you know the other person inside and out. Where you can go through hell and back and still make it out okay."

Ella goes back to study in Vegas and Micha is on the road with his band, they struggle with there separation and Ella is struggling with her past/depression/anxiety, she's seeing a counsellor which is helping but there's a whole lot of ups and downs in this one!!

 photo Ella-and-Micah_zps3b60445f.jpg

Whenever they get together though, I still felt their love shine through and I also still felt connected to them as a couple..

There is a fair amount of steam.

 photo kisingincar_zps735baa74.gif

and also a lot of hardship and upset.

 photo hugginggif_zps65db869a.gif

And a good amount of romance.

 photo ellaandmicha2_zps171e431c.jpg

Ok so let's get to the review!! as I say when I read the secret of Ella and Micha I stayed awake all night, I couldn't put it down, I didn't get frustrated and I loved it from start to finish. I still enjoyed this one I just didn't love it, Why? because I really didn't expect this story to go down the path it went on, the book is called the forever Ella and Micha so I expected a lot of happy times and when you finished the last book I thought it ended pretty well, In this story there's a whole lot of Ella pushing Micha away and there is a lot of back and forth, I do understand at times why Ella felt the way she did but I also know when you got something good stick with it and lean on it!! Micha in my mind was AWESOME, he was what Ella needed him to be at every step of the way and very very patient.

I did love them, they do have a strong connection, throughout the book I still Adored Micha he made it for me, pulled them through it, helped Ella see what they have and why they should fight and stay together and be strong.

Love you more than life itself, more than the sun and the air. You own my soul, Ella May. Micha

Micha was definitely the strength, kept loving Ella at every obstacle and every turn he stole my heart 100% throughout the whole book.

"You and I, good and bad, belong together. We make each other whole."

I loved Ethan and Lila as well, so comical kept the spirit up and kept nudging them in the right direction.Really great friends and some real fun times drinking, singing, car racing etc. So I will keep reading this series because I love Jessica's writing it flows nicely, she's easy to understand, she's passionate about the characters in the story but I just wanted more!!

I would of bumped the star to up if the epilogue was longer as I felt like it ended abruptly, therefore I really hope in Ethan and Lila's story we see a happy Ella and Micha and a complete story leaving me feeling like I did at the end of the secret of Ella and Micha. There is a HEA at the end but In my mind it isn't COMPLETE!!!

 photo 66bc9cfa-69d3-4643-a025-2165a8b6e9a8_zps73d0243c.jpg

 photo a9956246-86dd-411d-aa34-ffcbd09bbdf7_zps4f7f8711.jpg

So if your wanting an Intense love story, that's also passionate and pretty fast pasted even if it's just for Micha go read, I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoyed thoughless and effortless!!! which I also adored by the way.....

"Micha, I love you, "I murmur between breaths and relize that this is what I want. Forever.

3 1/5 STARS

description

Ella and Micha's story continues in this second book of the series. Best friends since their childhood and now lovers, they will both have to face the problems that having a romantic relationship brings. Distance is going to be one of their first enemies when they both try to make their love story work and at the same time fulfill their dreams. The future and the past are hunting Ella and Micha, and they have to decide which one are willing to let go. Trust issues. jelousy, lack of honesty, fear and the shadow of their past will make them doubt if they are really meant to be together, forever.

I really didn't know what to expect from this book. I enjoyed the first one, but didn't love it, for some reason I never got close to either Ella or Micha. I wanted to try and give these two a chance in this second book, and even if I enjoyed it and I really got closer to them, it wasn't enough. But I got to read some really sweet moments and that's the reason I finally gave this book 4 stars instead of 3 (actually 3 1/5).

Best parts of the story:

- Ella and Micha's Friendship:

description

- Micha:
description

Worst part of the story:

- The constant break-up/make-up:

I get that both Ella and Micha have a lot of baggage, but some of their fights were ridiculous and they really pissed me off. But well, I guess you sometimes hurt the person you love the most.

In this second book Ella and Micha are trying to get past their problems while trying to make a long-distance-relationship work.
Micha is having some family issues, he always on the road with the band, misses Ella like crazy and somehow alcohol seems a pretty good way to deal with the problems.
Ella is taking the distance pretty bad and her depressions is worst again, so she’s slowing falling again to the dark place that made her run the first time.
So they find that forever is a really hard thing to achieve and sometimes things are more complicated that they seem in the beginning.

description

I really liked the first book. For real. The premise was great, the main characters were great together, the supporting characters were pretty good.
All of that was again in this book, including the great premise, but somehow was just meh.
Now I feel like I've waited months for nothing, I'm kind of disappointed.
I spent most of the book wanting to pull my own hair and doing something like this:

description

I got a little annoyed with Micha, but Ella took the prize home. Really, she have a great boyfriend, who would do anything for her and knows all her problems and STILL loves her… and all she do is basically wonder if she is going mental one day.
THIS HAPPENS THROUGH THE WHOLE BOOK.
Ella thinks she’s crazy and Micha is too good for her - Ella makes something to send him away - he chases her anyway – he does something stupid
No, really, the WHOLE book. It’s frustrating. Most of the book I just wanted to slap some sense into them.

description
But even with all the craziness and frustration, I liked the book and was nice to see the ending to their story.

The epilogue was pretty good... but it should have been way longer.
If you liked the first one, you really should read this. ;)
(But don’t fool yourselves, the first was way better!)

This book….*sigh* I think I have been rendered speechless. I’ve read quite a lot of books, but I don’t think I’ve ever felt an emotional connection to characters as much as I have with Ella and Micha. If you loved book one, THE FOREVER OF ELLA AND MICHA will blow you away. It’s more angsty, darker, sexier, bigger and better! Sorensen gives it her all and it’s such a magical thing!

Ella and Micha have been through a lot already, both individually and as a couple. Their love has been tested and tried before, but when Micha goes on tour with his band, they are separated for months at a time and that takes a serious strain on their relationship.

Ella continues to have her problems and to be honest, they feel more prominent and all-consuming in this serving. Sorensen definitely doesn’t shy away from the darkness. She meets it front and center and for Ella, it’s a damn scary thing. As a reader, it pulls on your heartstrings to witness this, but also I love the way that Ella has manned up to her problems. She calls herself “a brat with mental problems” and though she jokes about it, her even saying that shows that she is already coming to understand herself on a different level. She is healing and she is looking for help. Her therapist, Anna was interesting to me because I studied Psychology in university and it just fit all my interests. I wanted to see Ella get better and I am thrilled to see her happy. As I said, I felt a kinship with her character and have come to love her despite her flaws.

Micha…oh Micha. Could a guy be more perfect? In the last book, Sorensen lays the foundation to Micha’s problems but she doesn’t really explore it. In this book, we get it in full throttle. Micha has a dark side and though not too damaging, you still feel for him. His relationship with his father is so flawed that it begins to take a toll on him. Resentment builds and when Micha’s father asks for a favor that seems too much, Micha doesn’t know how to handle it.

Lila and Ethan also have their own problems and although they aren’t explored fully in this book, you get a sense of them. I cannot wait to read THE TEMPTATION OF LILA AND ETHAN to hear more about their problems. I sense it has to do with their parents. And also, how about Ethan’s answer to the “What are you thankful for?” question? Red lacy bras? And what about Lila’s answer? Candy canes? I NEED TO KNOW! You can be sure I will get this book the second it comes out. I’ve become so invested into these characters, it’s almost a scary thing.

I also have to mention the smexy times in this book because even though that shower scene in book one was smokin’ hot. FOREVER has soo many amazing sex scenes, I couldn’t keep track of which one was my favorite. The car scene and possibly the poker scene were amongst my top faves though. Oh wait! And the wedding scene too. Basically any scene where Micha talks dirty is my favorite.

THE FOREVER OF ELLA AND MICHA feels like a true NA book. It’s more reckless than the first, more darker, more intense and more heartbreaking, but every second is worth the ride. Like first true love, I fell in love alongside Ella and Micha again, remembering the intense emotions of figuring out what you want and who you want to be.

On the surface, THE FOREVER OF ELLA AND MICHA is a fun, sexy, unforgettable story of first love. But at its core, it’s also an emotional story about acceptance, recovery and hope.

Sorensen is hands down my favorite New Adult author. Blending the sweet, the reckless, and the heartbreaking together into an enticing mix, her books will drown you until all you can think about are her characters. Clear your keeper shelf, because this book deserves its own covet spot!

The would have been a 5 star read for me if it wasn't for the ending. I love Micha and Ella. LOVE. Ella is not an annoying heroin. She's the most giving one. Ella has always had the brunt of her families issues to carry. She was responsible for watching over her mom. Making sure she took her meds. When her mom died, she was blamed. At 17 years old. How wrong is that? Her dad and her brother made her feel like it was her fault. Then she was responsible for her drunk dad, paying the bills, keeping house, cooking and whatever else came her way. Dean took off as soon as he could because he's a selfish prick. She's never had anyone take care of her. Except Micha. To me Micha is the only person who ever considered her feelings. He genuinely cared for her and her happiness. And he was also undeniably in love with her. Ella tried to push him away. To her, he would be better off without her and her issues. She convinced herself she was sick like her mom. Micha wanted to be a musician, but at what cost? These two grew up in this book. Or should I say they finally saw the bigger picture. Ethan gave some great advice. Lila was a terrific friend. I loved those two. Ella's therapist really got this girl to see her and her life growing up for what it was. And taught her to heal and move on. Dean is still a first class prick, right alongside Micha's dad. Ella's dad finally stepped into his parental shoes, after much anguish and sobriety. The only thing I didn't like so much was the ending. I felt like there was a good flow to the book until about 90%. Then it was over and the epilogue was only 6 months into the future and it didn't give me any real insight to their lives moving forward. After reading this is spent about an hour pissed off. I just needed more.

The Secret of Ella and Micha is where this story all started. Ella and Micha have known each other since...forever.

Ella is the girl next door whose mother committed suicide and whose father is an alcoholic. Ella went off to college and comes home looking completely different. Gone is the wild child and in her place is a girl Micha doesn't recognize. She is preppy and she is a rule follower. The Ellie Mae Micha knows is rebel, a fighter and a racer.

Micha Scott is not the same boy he was before either. He is going after what he has always known he wanted, and that is Ella. Micha is in for the long haul. His career is taking off and Micha is on the road with his band. The strain of separation is difficult but they have a deeper relationship than most. They have a shared history that goes back for what seems like... forever.

"Snorting a laugh, I press my palm to his and I swear the earth stops, because this moment is the beginning of forever." -Ella

Ella is struggling with her family, her past and the guilt that eats away at her every day about her mother's suicide. Ella finds herself sinking and she is not sure if she will find her way out. Ella and Micha must choose to fight for their relationship when things get tough. But neither knows if it will be enough.

They both fall back on old habits and when things get tough, they try and escape. Unhealthy coping could tear them apart forever.

Ella and Micha are the sweetest couple on the planet. I absolutely LOVE all of their broken pieces. I LOVE that together they are stronger than they are apart. I LOVE that they know every detail about one another and can read each other like an open book. I LOVE Ella's journey and the revelations that happen. I LOVE that Micha doesn't compromise and he doesn't give in. I LOVE this book!

“Micha, I love you,” I murmur between breaths and realize that this is what I want. Forever.- Ella

This book left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. I was really afraid to read this because there were a few reviews that were not complimentary. I loved the first one so much! This one was just as good in my ever so humble opinion. I really want there to be another one...does that make me a bad person...I don't think so.

I was SO excited for this sequel... And then...

description
description

The Secret of Ella and Micha was angst-ridden, highly emotional, and red-HOT-spicy. The sequel... not so much. Yeah, there was an abundance of "sexy" scenes littered throughout the book - no complaints there - BUT, it just lacked substance. (pleasedontshootme?)

Not to mention... Ella and Micha's issues this time around, started getting BEYOND repetitive; I found myself skimming through A LOT. And, I usually NEVER just skim through stuff. So yeah. Not good.

In short (not in any particular order):
1. I was bored. And annoyed.
2. Issues were repetitive
3. STUPID HEROINE ALERT
4. Mediocre (at best) execution, and ending. (Totally predictable, cheese-ball ending.)
5. Sex scenes were lacking *oomph* & that little something called: CHEMISTRY.
6. All around flat characters
7. Boring plot

But honestly, I lost interest after

OK, so let me elaborate a bit further on my #3 and #6. Basically, the emotional, broken, yet vulnerable, and extremely complex Ella from the first book just disappeared. This time around, her character just fell completely FLAT.

Suddenly, she transformed into the most pitiful, self-deprecating "non-heroine" ever. She frustrated the living daylights out of me. I wanted to hide. On the same note, MICHA acted totally out-of-character, or maybe played into the whole "bad boy cliche" too easily (refer to spoiler above). I couldn't help feel a pang of disappointment. But, in the end, he was just...OK (hence, my 2 star rating).

Maybe the series just lost its steam, because I had to wait SO long for its release? Then again, maybe it's just me. I realized, my taste in books are shifting. There just has to be some SUBSTANCE though, backing up all the "passionate" sex. Otherwise, it just grosses me out. Blegh.

One thing is for sure: The Forever of Ella and Micha might have put me in a perpetual NA funk. *please don't let this be the case*

If you were a fan of The Secret of Ella and Micha, you’ll find yourself in love with the sequel, The Forever of Ella and Micha. There’s a powerhouse of emotion on every page with these two incredible characters that Jessica Sorensen has created with Ella and Micha. When the reading community at large talks about the best books in New Adult, right away these two books come to mind. Jessica has a great knack for writing very dimensional and “real” characters and situations.

The Forever of Ella and Micha is written in the same vein as The Secret and Ella and Micha. These two have come very far since the events in the first book, but unfortunately for Ella, she still has deep issues and isn’t sure she can be everything Micha wants her to be. Ella is smart though, and is in therapy and wants to work out her issues and stemming from her mother’s suicide, her alcoholic father and her cold and distant older brother who's getting married. Micha is there for Ella through it all, although he's touring with his band. He has a good shot of hitting it big on the music scene. But he worries about Ella and their future, including his own issues with his father who walked out on Micha and his mother and ended up marrying and creating a new family.

Ella is everything to Micha but she still keeps him at arm’s length in some cases, thinking it’s best if they cool things down. Micha isn’t open to that and tries his best to show Ella he can help her heal. There are also some outside sources that may corrode Ella and Micha’s relationship such as jealously, manly from Micha regarding some male attention Ella receives at college and the fact that both have different lifestyles that could put up more walls between them. Micha refuses to give up on Ella and what they have, because Ella is Micha's forever. He just has to prove to Ella that it’s better for them to be together than apart.

The Forever of Ella and Micha is like a warm blanket you want to wrap yourself in. Micha really shines here and there are so many aww worthy moments from him. When Ella decides to slow things down, Micha may not be happy but he respects her wishes and does something so lovely such as simply snuggling in bed with Ella and singing to her. Ella tries to remain strong, not only for herself, but for Micha. She doesn’t want to use him as a crutch to get better emotionally. Micha wants Ella to use him in every way from a shoulder to cry on, as a friend and also as a lover.

The Forever of Ella and Micha is one of the best books I’ve read this year. Micha and Ella are each other's yin and yang. They are perfect harmony together. The love scenes her are much hotter than the first book, but they fit and aren't thrown in just to titillate. Micha's reactions to Ella when he wants to be intimate is exactly how a guy his age acts. Ella can barely deny Micha, and he knows it, but he never pushes or lays on the guilt.

The emo angst isn't over the top and the overall trust and friendship and love is so strong here. I really can’t find any negatives about his book. I’m happy to say this is one of the few books I read this year where I want to have babies with it. You know a book is a true winner when I invoke that phrase. The Forever of Ella and Micha is indeed that and more.

When I found out I was approved by Netgalley for this book I think I literally squealed, because it had been a long and torturous wait for more of the beautiful characters I fell in love with in the first book of this series! I adore both Ella and Micha, and I was so anxious to see them find the forever happiness that they had more than earned. Jessica Sorensen has wowed me yet again with this perfect conclusion to their story, and I enjoyed every moment!! Even when she was ripping my heart out with the painful roadblocks that Ella and Micha had to make it through, it was all well worth it. Ella was growing up and learning that life was not always going to be perfect, and that it was okay to let Micha see her flaws and have him love her just the same. And Micha was absolutely amazing as the rock that she could turn to, the man that loved her from the depths of his soul even when she was pushing him away. I love this boy!!! Thank you Netgalley for putting me out of my misery by cutting my wait short, and thank you Jessica for giving us such incredible characters to curl up and fall in love with!!

~Love you more than life itself, more than the sun and the air. You own my soul, Ella May. ~Micha, Loc 2295

"But Ella, we can wait around, wasting years, hoping we'll reach perfection in our lives. But it doesn't exist. We'll always have problems, but as long as we work through them together, I think we'll be okay." ~Micha, Loc2976

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, since I felt like Ella and Micha's story came to a good conclusion in the first book. But Jessica Sorensen gave us an insight into their relationship and solidified what I already knew about the two of them...they were meant to be together.

At the end of The Secret of Ella and Micha, Ella was back in Las Vegas at school and Micha was out touring with the band. They were trying to make the long distance "thing" work while they both worked through issues with their respective fathers. But the stress of dealing with the issues by themselves took their toll on not only each of them, but their relationship.

I have to give a lot of credit to both characters. Ella knew she had issues and was already seeing a therapist. But when she hit bottom, she knew it was important to work on trying to get herself back together and not push forward with a sexual relationship with Micha, not matter how much she wanted it. She was trying to make sure that she didn't go down the same path as her mother and drag those she loved down with her. But the big difference between Ella and her mother was Micha.

Micha knew he was meant for Ella and no matter what demons she needed to face he was always going to be there for her. He would give Ella the space she needed, even if it killed him and he always made sure she knew that not matter what she could count on him. Ella's issues tended to overshadow what was happening with Micha, but when he needed her she was there for him.

Most of Micha and Ella's issues came from a lack of communication. They both held in what they were feeling when it came to what hurt them most. Once they finally started talking, really talking, with each other, their relationship was able to get onto more solid footing and left me feeling like they were really going to make it.

I look forward to Lila and Ethan's story. The foursome need each other and it's very clear these two are meant for each other as well.

God, why does my head have to be broken?

In this continuation of Ella and Micha's story, it gets deep into Ella's problems and her mental issues. It really sad at times. But mental illness is sad and just sucks. It's an emotional story where Ella finally starts to come to terms with her past and trying to move on with her future.

Then there's Micha who steals your heart and has you swooning all over again....

I love you Ella May and nothing will ever change that. You can push me away- run away- and I will still love you.

He is Ella's rock and although he has his issues with his past and crappy father, he's there for her all the time. They have such a deep connection and bond and you just want a happy ending for these two.

I liked the moments of their past memories and reminded me of the couple I fell in love with initially.
