When 17 year old Janey wakes up with a headache she knows that it's going to be a bad day, but nothing could prepare her for HOW bad... Within 24 hours she has died and reanimated; one of the countless victims of a plague that is sweeping the globe and threatening the entire human race. The living are calling them "zombies" but Janey knows better. She is still alive, trapped within, but unable to control a body whose only desire is to feed.
Just read this book... really enjoyed it! I love YA and am big into zombies at the moment... It's not as in depth as WWZ (my favorite zombie novel of all time) but it's cool to think that the zombies might still be "alive inside". I hope that there is a sequel because this left me wondering what will happen next...
Michael I gave this a 4, but really I want to give it a 3.5 because it's not as good as Day by Day (which I gave a 4 to) but 3 seems too low. The concept made me kind of re-think all of the other zombie books I've read. I liked it.
This was a really interesting and engaging book. I really enjoyed the unique perspective of the book following the inner monologue of the zombie before, during and after transition. I would definitely recommend this book to someone looking for a light read and a unique take on the zombie genre.
