Whether you're pro-life or pro-choice, you probably agree on one abortion hurts women, both mentally and physically. Unfortunately, both sides are guilty of ignoring the individual in favor of the higher moral ground. No more. This book is designed to help people heal from their abortions on an individual level, and to finally be able to put guilt, shame, fear, doubt and other negative feelings behind them forever. Jennifer O'Neill's approach to healing is Christ-centered, showing post-abortive women that God still loves them, and that they should therefore love themselves. She should know--she felt guilt and shame over her own abortion for years. And she is not alone in that pain. This presents the symptoms of post-abortion syndrome (experienced by 80 percent of post-abortive women) incorporates a step-by-step, faith-based process for healing that incorporates Scripture provides true stories of women and men who have struggled with the affects of abortion includes resources for help and support Not just for the woman herself, this book is the perfect comfort and guide for people with friends, daughters or loved ones struggling with the after-effects of abortion, whether recent or long in the past. Typical book blaming women and calling a medical procedure a sin. I hope every woman will turn from this book and seek truth; while the procedure can be hard to deal with, it is not a "murderous sin"!! Try a book like https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/19074382-abortion for real help and support.
Very moving and powerful, this book guides postabortion women through their grief without condoning or supporting abortion. It's a compassionate book, though I would recommend it only to people who are Christian or considering becoming Christian. It includes stories of various women who had versions and how they found healing. I wish there were more postabortion resources for non-Christian women. I think this book could potentially help a woman grieve and go on with her life.
My heart was touched by You’re Not Alone. Though I’ve talked with, cried with, and written about women who’ve had abortions, I found Jennifer O’Neill’s story and insights to be fresh and compelling, a lifeline to those longing for hope and release (and those around them who need to understand). This book gently opens a window to what’s usually shrouded in darkness. The light that shines through is the grace of Jesus. Jennifer O’Neill portrays God as a compassionate healer, the divine Father and Husband who offers forgiveness to every woman who has suffered from abortion. I highly recommend this book
