Riptide Ascension
It's about a abused kid who's a genius who gets into a fight with this other kid named Fred. The keep attacking each other and the blows keep escalating until Fred tries to kill George, but instead puts him in a coma. George wakes up and finds out that Fred has become a congressman and sets out for revenge.
As he takes revenge, more and more is taken from him, as his friends and remaining family are taken from him in a direct response to his vengeance. George gets his revenge on Fred, but ends up deciding to spare most of the other people who put him into the coma and killed his mother.
He's later forced into a unique situation by law enforcement and he chooses to kill himself rather then throw some of his friends under the bus, (one of those was even one of his attackers).
