The Fetish Box: Open All Night is a short read. It's about a young girl, Mary, who was raised by her grandmother. She did not know her mother, and her father wasn't around that much. After finding out her mother had passed, she was left multiple things in her Will, including The Fetish Box....a sex store.
The intro was great, I loved being inside Mary's mind and hearing about her past. I loved the description of her mums house and her plans. Then it all started going a little different, when she meets John and Max. John: He is an ex-military soldier. After and IED accident in Afghanistan he is left with a few burn scars on his face....but that does not make him any-less attractive, more interesting though. He lives above The Fetish Box Store. Max: He's straight forward, knows what he wants and goes for it. He is from Ireland and has a sexy accent. He owns the other half of the bar in which Mary inherited.
Just as the story starts to get good, you're left hanging... :(
The overall story line is good, I did like the characters, you can feel yourself in the scene which is hard to achieve so that's why I gave it a little higher rating. It is just a bit all over the place, but I will definitely read the next novel, just to see what happens next!
When I saw this book on NetGalley I thought that it sounded like a fun, hot read. It was not. Not even a little bit.
The book is about a 22 year old virgin who inherits her estranged mom's sex shop when she dies. From the get go, the book came across as poorly written but I decided to go with it with the idea that hot sex and good chemistry would follow. Instead, the book was almost comically bad with the strangest initial sexual encounter that I have ever read. Get this: She walks into the house that she just inherited from her mom and finds a strange man inside. Instead of screaming and running away, she is captivated by his stunning masculinity and begins a conversation. GOD I wish I could quote this book but I can't because it is an ARC. The man, Max Jobman, talks like a drunken pirate but he is supposed to be Irish I think. Within their first 20 minutes of meeting, he tells her that she has nice tits and that he wants to SUCK ON THEM. Out of the blue, while they are drinking coffee. And, like the good virgin she is, she just agrees!! WTF!!!! Then he tucks her shirt under her armpits from below (gross), pops down her bra, and goes to town. Hello, not even the most pro-sex people I know would go for this strange situation, much less a virgin. How the F did she hold onto her virginity for 22 years, the hottie that she is supposed to be, if she just lets any man grope her who decides that he wants to.
I don't mind sexually free books, not at all. If the character was a girl who was up for anything sexually. But this story with a virgin... just didn't work for me. I know I'm focusing on this initial encounter but this set the stage for the book and it didn't get much better after that. I won't be continuing with the series.

This book is fraud in my opinion. When you see the cover and read the name you have certain expectations... It feels like the author is trying realllly hard to write an erotica, but clear that she herself has never experienced any such thing. Everything was so forced!
Okay, we also need to address the need to publish this in installments... 200 pages hardly constitutes one book, installment or otherwise. Nothing actually happened! It was an entire book on premise! We got to know our protagonist and meet the other characters.... that was it.
Well that and she masturbated with a dildo she found in her dead mom's house. I couldn't help but notice that she couldn't do it in the house because of what her mom had done there, but she can do it outside? On a patio? Where I am sure other people can fully see? Riiiight. That made total sense.
Wow. This book is ridiculous. Upon meeting Max, one of her mother's practically adopted children, (all grown up of course), he just dive bomb kisses her after only speaking maybe 2 sentences. After that he just eyes her up and says, "You have nice tits. I want to suck on them..." Seriously? If thats not bad enough she just lets him. Does she even know his last name? The girl went from virgin to slut in no time!
When Mary calls her old friend her response to Mary meeting two attractive men, she asks, "Okay, so who are you going to sleep with?" This author has so much to learn. No one speaks like that! So much of this book was ridiculous.
Did I mention this book had no actual sex in it? Ironic right? A book about a soon-to-be dominatrix who now owns a fetish sex shop... It ended with her about to have sex with one of the guys.
I have the Part II of this book, but I think I am going to wait a little bit to read it. I mean come one! They just jump all over her regardless of the fact that her mother was practically theirs as well. Fairly incestuous, don't you think. Not by blood, but that's like sleeping with a step-brother. In that department, I am yankee through and through! Hhaha! Ugh, gross...
Okay I nearly stopped reading this book at 18% when a stranger who's just introduced himself to the main character (Mary - who happens to be a virgin!!), goes up grabs her, kisses and fondles her breasts.......... Call me odd but I'd kick him in the balls and slap him, regardless of how hot he is.
I carried on anyway and it did improve sort of, Max the gropper stays in the story, we also have John, who I have to say I rather liked him, even so what he propositions her with over lunch was ludicrous.
General background, Mary has inherited her mums house, Half a bar and a sex shop, Mary is a 24 year old virgin, who is in to art, she moves across state to take over the business. Everything happens with in half a day, and she just goes with it lol.
The story moved to quick for me, I will read part 2, as it ended so abruptly.
I'm not the most knowledgeable reviewer when it comes to Erotica. But I know what I like and I know what's crap. The Fetish Box may not be crap but I think it would be safe to say that it is a perfect example of a marketing ploy that ruined a book.
Let me give you a quick review of the book and then we'll discuss my huge problem with it. After reading the blurb, you'll know that Mary is 3 things: 22 years old, virginal, and has recently inherited a sex shop. Already I'm making my "Yeah, right" face. A hot, 22 year old virgin? Okaaaaay. We'll suspend disbelief and just go with it, shall we?
Mary's estranged mom dies and leaves her this sex shop. Absolutely something that someone would do: will a sex shop to a daughter they've never met. Gotcha! But this is Erotica-land so let's continue with setting aside reality so we can get to the down and dirty? That's what we're all here for, right? Well, I hate to be the one to tell you that there is NO down and dirty in this first installment of The Fetish Box.
Nope, we meet Mary and get her backstory. We meet Max, a Colin Ferrell looking guy who loves women as much as women love him. I liked him just fine but within minutes of meeting him, our virginal Mary lets him suck on her tits. Oh I'm sorry! Was that abrupt? I'm just trying to get you ready for the novella because its THAT abrupt while you're reading it too! LOL!
Next is John. I liked John most of all but I have to admit that he's a bit of what's become a romance cliche: a scarred Afghanistan war vet. In this case, John is scarred physically but that doesn't matter to Mary; she still finds him really attractive. I thought he was much more subtle than Max. He took Mary to what is now her sex shop to see it and to meet the employees and then over to the bar that she now co-owns with Max. It just felt like he spent a lot more time with Mary and got to know her a little bit before he started coming on to her.
Don't take that the wrong way: Mary is completely on board with everything that's going on. When Max offers to lick her tits, she agrees! When John says he wants to teach her how to have sex, she agrees! Now, I have no problem with getting busy right away but this book could have been so much more!
Speaking of that, you remember that I mentioned that there was no Sexy Time in The Fetish Box, Part One, right? There isn't. My opinion as to WHY there is no Sexy Time is because this was a novel that was split into three parts so that it could hopefully make more money. If you read this part, you'll see that it stops right when John tells Mary to take off her clothes. And then you turn the page and there's nothing. There's not much that makes us Erotica fans turn against a author quicker than robbing us of our Sexy Time. And breaking up a book into three smaller, incomplete parts? Wow. Not very bright.
There's not much for me to recommend about this book. If this had been left as one longer book, this would have been a great beginning where you learn the names of all the characters and figure out why you care about them. As it is, its just this strange little novella that doesn't really seem to have a point, other than to make money for someone. The only way that I would be able to recommend this book and keep my conscience clear is if you got them as a Buy One Get Two Free and if you had all three installments before you started. Other than that? I may have to say you should pass on this one...

I probably had much higher expectations for this novella than I should've going in, but I'll be honest. I feel terrible about not liking "Open All Night" - the first part in a serial story called "The Fetish Box" by Nicole Camden. Not only did the cover seem very pretty (the half melted candle was a nice touch alongside the font), I was interested in seeing what directions a woman owning a sex shop would promote. Seemed like it would offer a combination of an atmospheric and character driven read from the premise, but unfortunately, all I came out of it with was something that felt like it ended too soon, and played into many cliches currently in the genre.
The story revolves around a woman who inherits her own sex shop and falls into sorts with two guys vying for her affections. Pretty much this novella has the "instalove machine" thing going. ("And I won't work for nobody but yooou..." Sorry, tangent.) It toggles between Mary's perspective and the guys John and Max. Max is the so-called "ladies man", John's more of the grounded guy with a bit of a love streak himself.
I wasn't taken with the fact that the story jumped right into a sex scene that Mary clearly stated she wasn't ready for. I'm thinking who would do that with someone they just met, and had no sexual experiences really to speak of? She's noted as a virgin, but the guy in question doesn't even kiss her or have much of an introductory conversation with her, just starts going for the sexy times (an explicit gesture at that). This kind of instaloving always turns me off because I like to see the characters connect in other ways first and build their relationships. Or, if they are in sexy times to start, there's already a well-established relationship between them (in this case, there wasn't.)
I'm trying to think of things to say about the characters themselves, but none of them really stood out to me, reflecting back on it. The development is very much surface, and there's not a true, deep POV to speak of here, even for a novella. John's reflections in some places looked like they were the closest to going for a deep POV, but they were mostly in and out between the sensual scenes. Maybe the in and out of the three POVs here were what turned me off - it felt like it was trying to go for too many things in such a short span of time, and maybe that was a product of the serialization - trying to cram all of it into one go in order to prep for the next transition (which made for a really awkward ending point). I think it would've turned out better if it just took its time and been a little fuller in composition, as well as been more realistic with respect to the interactions of the characters. I understand trying to start with the sensual elements considering the genre, but here - it felt forced and awkward in transition. There were a few parts in the writing that I did like in terms of development, but they didn't go as far as I think they could've gone - again for the brevity issue.
I'm going to give the second story a try to see if it improves, but I'm not very confident, unfortunately.
Overall score: 1.5/5
Note: I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher Pocket Star.
I seen this on NetGalley and was really excited to try it out. The Fetish Box. Love the name.
24 year old Mary just inherited her mothers house, businesses ( The Fetish Box ) sex shop, co owner of a pub, and BDSM classes. Mary is a virgin, never got to know her mother since her mother left Mary with with her father when she was born. She comes to Florida and automatically gets drown to two men. Max and John, she is very interested in and wants them both. Within a short time of meeting Max he is already kissing her and foundling with her nipples. You would think that since Mary is such a innocent virgin she wouldn't go for it but sure enough she lets him. He is a strange man you never met in your new house. But whatever, if you off I guess. To me for some reason felt too soon.
John shows Mary the ropes of the business and tells her that he will teach her how to become a Domme like her mother was for the BDSM parties. I was waiting for what going to happen next but then it ends with John tells Mary to take off her clothes.
There are a couple of things I found that bugged me. I was getting mixed up with who's POV I was in. It comes with a 3 person POV. I don't mind it sometimes if they are more then one POV but when I am reading from one's then with in the next sentence I am in a other.
This book is very short. Hardly no sex but a quicky.
I am interested in where this story is going to go, so I will be keeping a look out for the next book.
Amanda, a talented young artist, inherits a sex shop, bar and home from the mother she never knew. A virgin, Amanda still has a wild side that she wants to explore in this world of fantasy sex and games.
John, a scarred veteran, has drawn on Amanda's heart. Max, the brash Irish hulk is gorgeous and has peaked Amanda's interest in a wild way. She also wants to paint them both, nude.
As Amanda delves into the world her mother reigned over, she is discovering who her mother really was.
The actual plot was well-told, although short and abruptly ending. The erotica was more base, without flowery illusion, over-playing the casual attitude of the characters in some parts, seeming to be added as an after thought, although it may play into the story in a later book.
This ARC edition was provided by NetGalley and Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books in exchange for an honest review.
This is a first installment (of how many I still don't know) for a shallow story of a 21 year old virgin - REALLY, another? - that inherits a SEX SHOP from a mother she has never seen!! Again, really? So, on her first day meeting neigbourghs and such, she lusts and drolls over a scarred man - nothing against hot scarred man, I'm just against the hurry - let another one almost have her against the kitchen wall. She accepts the invitation for BDSM sex and goes to a bar with the scarred man, who will show her the delights of such sex, where she drinks all night long. Sorry... REALLY? They go to her house and he orders her to undress. And then the book stops! Yeah, right there! REALLY??????? Please, have some consideration with your reader.
The Fetish Box was an interested read, that's for sure.
3.5 Stars!
I recieved The Fetish Box as an ARC in exchange for my review and I'm going to be completely honest. This wasn't the best book I have read.
The Fetish Box: Open All Night is about a young girl, Mary, who was raised by her very Christian like grandmother from Virginia. She grew up not knowing her mother, and her father wasn't around that much. Both her parents were young when they had her. After finding out her mother had passed on, she was left multiple things in her Will, including The Fetish Box....a sex store.
Here's the thing that makes it a little strange for Mary to won a sex shop....she is still a Virgin. Her grandmother raised her to wait till marriage. She knew that her mother was really into some weird things so her grandmother would make it sound like if she became anything like her Mother, she was evil.
After arriving in Florida, were her mother lived, and checking out all the other things she inherited including half ownership of a bar, she meets the men that were important in her mothers life.
John....hmmm...John, were to begin. This is were I get a little upset about the book. To me, this guy has no personality, I know he is supposed to be a little reserved. He is an ex-military soldier. After and IED accident in Afghanistan he is left with a few burn scars on his face....but that does not make him anyless attractive, more interesting though. He lives above The Fetish Box Store.
Max, LOL, Max just makes me laugh. He is so straight forward, knows what he wants and goes for it. He is from Ireland and has a sexy accent. Who doesn't love a man with an accent right?!? He owns the other half of the bar in which Mary inherited.
Ok, so here is what gets me. Mary has gone 24 years and is a virgin....she is in this little town for one day and has sex....seriously? These guys are super straight forward, don't waste anytime and go right for the goal. I mean, yes, I guess, if your single, hot, and have always had a sense for the erotic nature then I can see how she would be intrigued....but the first night?!?! Damn girl!!
Also, the story goes back and forth and at times you have to stop and think...."Ok, who is telling the story now". At times the characters are telling us the story and what is going on and than all of a sudden they are being narrated....a little confusing.
The overall story line is good, I do like the characters, you can feel yourself in the scene which is hard to achieve so thats why I gave it a little higher rating. It is just a bit all over the place. I will continue on to Part 2 of the story.
This will be released February 11th and will be only $1.99. It is very short, only about 100 pages but I would say its worth the quick read.....
The blurb does a great job of summarizing the story, so I'll go directly to my opinion.
I enjoyed the characters in the story. I thought that they were interesting and fit the story nicely. Mary with her curiosity about sex and her innocent look made for an interesting heroine. Max, who exuded sexiness with every word spoken and John with his dark presence and tortured soul made a great pair of heroes perfectly suited to fulfill Mary's every desire.
The men pulled no punches and I liked that about them because it went with their personalities, but I just could not believe that Mary was so eager and ready to go with it. It really affected her credibility and made the whole story too unbelievable to me. How could a woman, especially a virgin, curious or not, behave that way with two men she just met and with whom she has a business relationship with? It was absurd!
I can't help but think that the characters could have been better portrayed, especially in this first installment of the story. I truly wanted to find some sort of connection with Mary and the men, but I couldn't. My connection to them was superficial at most and that fact didn't help my enjoyment of the story. I liked the secondary characters that were introduced and the sense of community that the author brought to the page through the main characters interactions with others.
The writing was okay. Don't get me wrong, the author came up with a great concept, but I can't help but think that the concept lacked in its execution. The connection between the characters was nonexistent to me but I've read enough fiction to overlook it and keep on reading. However, I was not expecting the abrupt ending. Yes, there are more installments to follow and I even have the second one already, but I did not appreciate being left hanging right before a scene. Imagine how I would feel if I had to wait to know what happened next. Pfft!
Having said all this, I have to admit that I am curious to know how all this plays out and how Max, John and Mary develop as characters along with their business and sexual relationship. This is the first novella in the Fetish Box series and it is reasonable to say that the first installment is the most impressionable, but it must also be the hardest one to write. I have read enough first books in a series to acknowledge that some series deserve a second chance. I think this one deserves it.
I received this novella from Pocket Star Books through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.
The Fetish Box, Part One [Kindle Edition] Nicole Camden File Size: 852 KB Print Length: 74 pages Publisher: Pocket Star (February 11, 2013) An enchanting eBook debut about a world where your fantasies come true and nothing is quite what it seems. After a long drive from California, she arrives at her deceased mother’s house only to be confronted immediately with two equally sexy strangers: the strong, silent John and the irreverent, taunting Max. This is light reading and a quick read. I like the innocent curiosity of Mary’s nature in contrast to Max and John who remain a mystery to me. John is solemn and reserved, while Max has every aspect of the playboy and very forward. I enjoyed what it offered but it left me hanging. I know this is a three part story but I just wish that I had a little more meat to chew on while I wait for the next installment. It was over just as I was starting to cozy into it. Mary sounds like a fun girl ready to jump into life with both feet; I can’t wait to read the next installments to see how it turns out.
This book was provided to me by the publisher for an honest review at SeductiveMusings.blogspot.com.
The heroine of The Fetish Box is Mary Duepree, the self-described “bastard consequence of an affair with a trashy whore from Florida” who was raised by her father’s mother while her father made cameo appearances throughout her childhood years. When we first meet Mary, she is driving down to Hollywood, Florida in an old beat-up car full of her worldly possessions to claim her inheritance from her recently deceased mother. The late Mandy Duepree had apparently lived quite a colorful life, complete with several husbands, and had left her only daughter Mary an equally colorful inheritance: part ownership of a local pub and full ownership of a 24 hour sex shop. There’s also the matter of her mother’s tumbledown house on the beach, and not just one, but two older and viscerally attractive men who had been her mother’s best friends and who are both hoping to be something more in Mary’s life.
For me, this was the most effective part of the three. It immediately set the stage and established the tone for how we would see Mary and how she discovers her own innate sexuality as she dives deeper into the life that her mother lived as the acknowledged Fetish Queen of the local kink community. The fact that we don’t know any more than she does about John and Max, the two most important men at the end of her mother’s life, or anything else other than what they tell her makes each moment of discovery all the more compelling. Best of all, the cliffhanger for Part One hits just the right note of wanting to know what’s next without being angry that it’s not there yet.
Mary is just a 24 year old virgin going to school in CA.. Her mother whom she hasnt seen since she was a baby has passed away leaving Mary her sex shop.. bar and house in FL.. Obviously this is a shock to her Mary kinda takes in all in strides moves to FL and meets her tenant John and her business partner Max.. both amazingly hot guys.. I kinda like Max's style hes irish..a playboy and unapologetic about it.. I like that what can I say I like when people know who they are and arent afraid or ashamed by it.. John seems to be the strong silent type a veteran so yeah im on board for him too..
Within mintues of meeting Max is already kissing and fondling her.. I mean this could go either way you could totally be put off or it could just roll off you.. for me I wasnt disturbed by this or any of the fast ways Mary developed when she set foot in FL..
The Fetish Box Marys inherited store theres a cast of funny and interesting characters.. John offers to teach Mary the ropes of the sex shop and well the deed itself.. Mary lets put this lady like COMPLETELY FREAKING JUMPS AT THE OPPORTUNITY..
I Really enjoyed the different POVs to the story.. was I completely happy about the cliffhanger ending.. uhh no.. but I get it.. its a novella would I love them to be all wrapped up in a book.. YES!
I DID RECEIVE THIS VIA NETGALLEY FOR MY HONEST OPINION AND THAT JUST WHAT YA GOT :D
Looks like this is the trend going around. You get parts of a story instead of the whole thing. It makes the book seem incomplete but at the same time you crave for more.
Mary inherits her estrange mother's business and home. Its a very unique situation because this innocent young woman now owns a very popular sex store along with other businesses on the side. A pub and through the sex store a BDSM how to classes.
When Mary gets to her mother's home she meets two men. John who helps with security for The Fetish Box and Max her new business partner. Both men ignite a flame she has always possessed but never let loose for fear of getting burned. Her grandmother has put an unnatural fear of sex in her that she's always been very hesitant to open that part of herself to anyone.
There is still a lot that needs explaining. Mary may seem like an innocent virgin but when Max, out of the blue, kisses and fondles her she all too willing to let him take advantage of her. And when John says he'll teach her to have sex, again she wants to participate without a seconds thought. She's very free spirited but at what cost? I hope to find the answers in part 2.
A quick, fun and sexy read that left me hanging (UGH!) It’s really a good read that leaves the reader very curious as to what is to come and keeps you turning the pages until before you know it, you’re at the end and looking for much more! Erotic romance readers will without a doubt enjoy this first installment of the Fetish Box knowing there's more to come :)
Mary has never met her biological mother but has learned that she’s inherited two businesses and a home. When she arrives to where her new home and businesses are located, she learns she has inherited much more than what the lawyer has told her. It’s almost like she now has a new family and a whole new life completely opposite of what she’s accustomed to. But she is taking it all in stride and learning a lot, both about her mother and herself.
I’d say there’s a touch of a love triangle happening here (maybe more of a lust triangle, it’s too soon to say), but with the way it was left off, I’m not absolutely positive. John and Max are also Mary’s business partners and both seem to desire her, one more than the other. Mary on the other hand, desire’s them both. Only time (and the next book of the series) will tell what’s to become of them.
There is a fine line between erotica and pornography and, unfortunately, this book frequently crosses it. Erotica contains sexual tension between the characters leading up to the actual act. In porn sex just happens, quickly and inexplicably, without any rhyme or reason. It's "Hi" and immediately jump into sex.
When the heroine, the 24 year old virgin Mary (really?), first meets one of the Heroes, Max, she immediately lets him suck on her breasts. A strange man, in her house, but he is cute and has tattoos, so it must be alright. Right? Only if the heroine is stupid and without any common sense at all. This is what I mean by jumping into sex without a rational lead in. It really isn't exciting, just icky.
When someone has written a book and then randomly rips it into three novellas with no thought to how each book in the series will end, it is just annoying. It is possible to have a three book series with a logical conclusion to each book and still lead in to the next book.
The reason I rated the book 2 stars instead of 1 is because it does contain interesting characters, scenarios and descriptions of places. With some strong editing and rewriting it could be rated much higher.
NetGalley free read for a fair and honest review....
Mary inherits a sex shop from a mother she never knew only to have her first sexual experience with they guy who lives above the shop and a flirtation with her new business partner.
As Mary is getting to know everyone in her new life, things take a sinister turn.
There isn't much to the story to tell me much about the other characters. We are basically set up with Mary's life and how she inherited the shop. Max is a typical bar owner, who happens to be sexy and sleeps with anything with boobs. Even having sex with his barmaid in the back of the pub. I wouldn't eat or drink anything there.
John is a war vet, who hasn't been involved with a woman in a long time, but seems to want to stake his claim on Mary before Max can do it.
For someone with little to no sexual experience, Mary let's Max "suck on her tit" minutes after they've met. I don't care how sexually experienced you are or aren't, who does that?
I can't say much else because they book is so short. The second book give me very little to go on as well.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I got an ARC of this book and wanted to read it because it seemed interesting. It is short which I don't like since I also don't like book to be separated as parts. I think this book would of been good as one total book. I did like it though. The two males characters John and Max I loved and Mary seems cool as well. I read it real fast and hoped we saw more in this book. But it did what it is suppose to because now I want to read the next one and see what happens. I want to know if she gets everything she wants.
Mary inherited The Fetish Box from her mom who died and was never around. Mary goes to check the place out and she finds out she inherited a lot more than just a store and a bar. She meets a community of people that loved her mom and it makes her feel comfortable to be there. It probably also soothes her to know these people can tell her about her mom as well. She also takes an interest in Max and John and it seems they take an interest as well. I wonder how far this is going to go... only time will tell and I can't wait to find out.
I was given this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a very quick read, obviously an installment read. You are left hanging, literally, just as it starts to get good. The intro was great, I loved being inside Mary's mind and hearing about her past. I loved the description of her mums house and her plans. Then it all started going a little different, when she meets John and Max.
I will say that even for me this book moved extremely fast ( and I like getting down to business if you know what I mean). Most of the interactions in this read came completely out of the blue and even seemed a little weird because of it. People just don't do things like that after knowing someone five minutes, I am not going to spoil anything , but yeah, it shocked me. It was still a quick pleasant read and I will be reading the next one, just cause I want to know what's gonig on.
It was an introduction book where we met John and Max, both are deliciously sexy and made Mary panties caught on fire. She's a sweet virgin girl, that loves art and discovered her mother, who she never met before, was the owner of a sex shop and a pub. Mary inherited all of it, along with some of her partners, John works on the sex shop and handles the security part, while Max has an awesomely sexy ascent and manage the pub.
Both are gorgeous and made Mary really think about having sex for the first time. She's not waiting for a marriage or anything, just never met anything that really made her want to take the leap, but this time, both guys are making her consider.
So John made a proposition and she decided to accept. So John and Mary were about to consummate when the book ended.
The Fetish Box is a novel that has been broken into several parts. This is a story of the virginal Mary Dupree, who inherits a sex shop among other things from a mother that she has never known. Despite, growing up in the south with her extremely strict grandmother, she is beginning to discover that something is awakened in her she never knew existed. Add the stoic, but handsome John along with the charming and hot Irishman Max and you have a recipe for a searing romance. Beware, this book is just like the peep shows in the strip clubs, once it starts to get really good it’s over and it leaves you wanting more. Regardless, I liked the story and look forward to reading part two.
4 Stars Mary has never met her mother and now she will never get the chance. Mary, through her mother’s estate becomes the owner of The Fetish Box, a well known Florida sex shop. The ironic thing is, Mary’s a virgin. Mary also inherits two business partners Max and Jon. Max is a confident man who will take his pleasure anywhere he can find it. Jon is more stoic and quiet, but still gets possessive. The Fetish Box is a serialized novel and each piece is quite short. Worst part of all is part one ends just when you get to the good stuff and leaves you anxious for part two.
I don't think this book was originally meant to be split up into three parts, so yes, it does not end at a very good part. However the author's writing skills and imagination are superb. If you are not a fan of waiting for the next installment, then just get over it and learn some patience. It's not the author's fault, it's the publishers. For a better example of Nicole Camden's writing go and read her short story, The Nekkid Truth, in Big Guns Out of Uniform. It's the best story in the book.
I really could like this book if it were just a little longer. Don't get me wrong I know this is just the first book of the series but I would have liked more background on the men and Marys mother. Otherwise I believe the characters have potential and the storyline is a new concept for me (which I really like). The end of the first book left you with a cliffhanger that will bring you back for the next book so the author did her job well. Overall this is a quick easy read with potential.
I really enjoyed reading this short erotic book. I received a copy for my honest review, and I give it 4 stars. Mary is left a sex store from her dead mother that she never met, and moves away to live in her mothers house. She meets all the people who knew and loved her mother, including two men who catch her eye. I'm left wanting more after I finished the story and can't wait to read the next short read!
Mary, a virgin, moves cross country after inheriting a sex shop, bar, house and the friends from the mom she has never met. The characters are all likable, with their different personalities. Starting the second installment now to see about her night of "learning" and to hopefully learn more about the mother she never knew.
Why make a book into 3 parts? This makes no sense to me. It just ends and then you have to read the next one. I know this is 3 books, I am going to start part 2 but I am not sure if I like it or not....And i started book 2 but did not finish. I was not interested in it at all
