Linda Lael Miller

Fantastic, gleaming and SHATTERING beautiful Love-Story between a lost married couple who now reunites in this late 1880s setting in Montana, a Western romance i will late forget...
Emmeline who always thought her husband dead the last 7 years gets shocked over his return,but little does she know that he had been kidnapped and taken away to slavery and been forced to endure the hardships and abusiveness which have changed him, he has now changed into a man who has become patient for her love even if it would kill him-I just simply love this man!
Gil Hartwell is a man with a wonderful persona, while being innocent with his arrogance in his youth he has now changed into a man who knows the darkness of life, waiting and fighting for 7 years to come back to his wife-enduring all kinds of punishments along the way. Emmeline had mourned him after all these years and decides also to marry another man-which is the exact day Gil comes back. Talk about some drama...(smirk)!
Gil and Emmeline obviously love each other very much-it was so bittersweet and romantic in the way that both of them had to go through some very emotional obstacles and the real enemy in the end,who had firstly caused all harm for them from the start.I love this story,A Unforgettable Keeper that deserved it`s 5-Stars!

This was an unusual romance/suspense story - a novella.
Chase (Emmaline’s husband) was missing for seven years and presumed dead by his wife. He shows up on the day that she is to be married to a man that Chase has always disliked.
Chase’s explanation is hard for some to believe. He says that he was kidnapped and sold to work as a slave on a ship. Her “fiancé” says that Chase deserted her and has spent seven years philandering.
Who will she believe? Who will she choose? Let the drama begin…

I really enjoyed this and wish it was a novel instead of a novella. Emmaline was such a great heroine. She had me laughing at times with her deadpan delivery and responses to her cousin. I thought Chase was so sweet and patient as he waited for Emmaline to come to him. I did want to shake him at times because he did try to push her away.
Overall, this was a fun and interesting story from LLM. Probably one of my favorite heroines from her.

L.L. Miller produces very dependably enjoyable romances. This is no exception. I also appreciate her background material on the settings she writes about. She makes me feel she knows the place she is writing about well. And I know most of those same places, too

This was a weird story of a husband getting kidnapped and returning after 6 years gone only to return in the day his wife was going to marry another man. Their relationship was weird moving forward but happy with ending

A wild-west romance, this is not my normal read, and I was reminded why. Full of over-the-top drama, good guys and bad guys and lots of sex, it wasn’t my favourite.

This was different. The plot was great. Something happens that I found to be miraculous. The love and faithfulness in this was phenomenal. I’m thinking, THIS IS WONDERFUL. DO NOT REMEMBER LISTENING TO A BOOK LIKE THIS,EVER. I didn’t understand the reactions of the towns people. Even the pastor. Maybe somehow I missed something. I saw this delightful, and r the respect Gil has such respect for Emmeline that you don’t see very often. There is drama, fear, hope, love, commitment, and death. Very exciting and touching in a big way. I love the two main characters, and Gil set my heart on fire. I am a sucker for a trustworthy, loving, faithful man. The real reason Gil disappeared never entered my mind, much less what he endured. Love this book more than I can say. 🧡🤗📚 CathyR
