My professor wrote this book! She is very wise, and her unique, self-disclosing writing style has been such an aid for me as I study trauma, how to care for survivors of trauma, and her observations in scripture that speak to this. I wouldn’t recommend to read outside of assigned reading for class. Yay Wheaton College and adding books to my yearly book goal !
Really well done review of what common wound themes and healing measures must be explored regarding sexual abuse from a Christian perspective. It goes to the hard places and calls them hard. No glossing over, trite positivity, or over-spiritualizing here.
Excellent, deep, profound- goes into the valley of the shadow of sexual abuse, both for victims, perpetrators, friends, counselors, and those affected, and shines true light into it. I recommend this for anyone who is willing to grapple with true suffering and true hope.
