Mia Langdon—tomb raider and adventure-seeker—has everything she wants. Freedom. Independence. No chains (a.k.a. a man). Her troubles begin when she’s attacked on a dig in Peru. Soon, she’s forced to use her tomb raiding talents to find the flaming arrows of an Egyptian goddess. In the wrong hands, this weapon could destroy the human race—and nearly had.
Used to doing things her own way, it isn’t long before she figures out that she needs the help of Harrison Braden Stanton, her stuffy, but so yummy, Egyptologist and ex-lover. There’s one problem. He despises what she does. As Mia and Harrison find themselves in the middle of a battle between the Egyptian gods and goddess, there’s no choice for the woman with a Grand Canyon-sized independence streak and the man working for the Egyptian god, Osiris, but to work together to prevent the destruction of all they love.
I don’t like biographies, but I realize they are important. I think. For those of you interested in these things, here’s mine. I’ve been a writer ever since I can remember. Which, I’m afraid, isn’t as far back as most writers seem to remember.
The first time I put pen to paper to write fiction was after reading The Flame and The Flower by Rosemary Rogers. At the time, I was in high school and thought being able to write such a terrific story must be the most amazing thing in the world. Turned out it was; however, I wasn’t the writer. I kept that attempt for years and it finally got tossed when my family moved from Pennsylvania to Florida and my Mom cleaned house.
After that, I still wrote. But not fiction. I wrote for newsletters, drafted publications in the military, training outlines, business letters and more. Everything but fiction. It wasn’t until AOL came along that I found fiction again. Actually, it was a combination of AOL, Moondust and Madness by Janelle Taylor (futuristic romance) and a dream.
I write for Samhain Publishing (love them!) and am new to another terrific publisher, Lyrical Press. I have a release coming from them in February 2012.

Mia is a tomb raider. She has always had a knack for finding lost relics no one thought was real. The thing is that she didn’t know at the time that it is a gift so to speak. She also likes to do things her way and doesn’t like to be bossed around. To bad someone didn’t get the memo. But then someone kidnaps her friend and she will do anything to get her back. She’ll even ask her ex lover for help is she has to. In a race against time she has to find the arrows to save her friend, confront her feeling for Harrison, and find out that sometimes your enemies came becomes friends. Oh and not to mention the gods and goddesses breathing down everyone’s necks.
What a thrill ride. This was a book that I wouldn’t normally find myself reading. I usually read paranormal and all that. So this book was a little bit out of my comfort zone. Well let me just say that I’m glad I stepped out of it. This book was great. There was plenty of action and the characters were very relatable……with being in there situation of course. Mia comes on a little strong but that what made me like her. I don’t think I would have liked this book without Mia. This had plenty of action and it was not lacking in any area. There was danger, lots of tomb raiders, gods and goddesses, and of course hot guys. LOL and what’s a book without danger and trust me Mia likes danger. :D
Mia- she was a firecracker. She did not need anyone fighting her battles for her. No she is the type of woman who takes things into her own hands. She doesn’t get close to people often but when she does she cares about them deeply. She is the kind a person you don’t want on your bad side. I can see me and her being great friends. LOL
Harrison- “He has a stick entrenched up his butt” as Mia would say. LOL Yes, I toned it down a bit LOL While he was like this most of the book, I still liked him. He was just so yummy. He liked Mia but didn’t approve of what she does. So he left her. All I can say is that is a two way street. He could have changed to…just saying. All that being said he still cares about her and that’s what made me love him the most.
Overall fans of Indiana Jones and Laura Croft Tomb Raider will love this book.
Mia is bull-headed, brassy, and fiercely loyal to her friends. She is driven to constantly prove herself, mainly to herself. She is foot-loose and fancy-free, and hiding a tremendous heart-break under a huge chip on her shoulder. Mia becomes righteously indignant when her partner betrays her by making a greedy and selfish deal that puts her closest friends in deadly peril. As her options are ruthlessly taken away, her resolve not to be caught up in the deadly mechanizations of her adversaries remains steadfast. However, her steely determination to rescue her innocent assistant never falters. That she is forced to ask for help from Harrison, the tantalizingly tempting ex-lover she has vowed to forget, makes Mia cranky and all the more motivated to release her irritation and ill-will on the evil villains.
This book caught me up in the action from the first. Mia and Harrison are both strong characters who have difficulty seeing through the blinders that both figuratively wear. Their verbal sparring is often humorous as a result. Both are bigger than life heroes with destinies that are forcing them to play important roles in the unfolding events. I loved the action and the sense of fated purpose that prevails throughout the book. The author breathes life into the story with the historical references and controversial details of Egyptian mythology. I liked the energy and compelling attraction between Mia and Harrison but would have preferred a little more subtlety, at times. Though, on the surface, it seems their motives are vastly different, it turns out they really have similar goals when push comes to shove. This is an exciting read with a strong, cantankerous woman on the brink of discovering more than she ever bargained for. The book ends in a satisfying way but leaves open the opportunity for more adventures with Mia and Harrison – Bring it on! I am also truly looking forward to another archeological thriller by Cassiel Knight that reviewers are also raving about, Key of Solomon.
This book was given to me by the author in exchange for my honest review.
Where do I even begin? This book just blew me away. After reading the synopsis, I must say that it caught my interest, but I never imagined it would be such an incredibly good read! I typically read books pretty quickly, but this book made me stay up until 4am reading it! Blood on the Moon was filled with so much action and adventure and was unlike any book that I have read.
Mia, is a tomb-raider and her assistant gets kidnapped. The only way to save her to is find ancient Egyptian arrows, which were hidden to protect man kind from annihilation. Calling upon the only man qualified to help her find the arrows, Harrison Braden Stanton. He is her ex, who still finds himself longing for her even though he is an engaged man. You find out that he is the son of the ancient God, Osiris. Also Mia finds herself asking for Ryder's help, the delectable "bad boy" who assisted in kidnapping her assistant. Mia finds out that she is the daughter of an ancient Egyptian goddess, Bast. Their duty is to protect the arrows and for them to be destroyed and never to fall into the wrong hands. The arrows are what is keeping Jordyn, Mia's assistant, from coming home safely.
Her group of "co-workers" venture into the dessert and explore a cave and wind up finding the arrows. Once the group finds the arrows, Vivian, the lady behind all this mess, shows up with thugs to steal the arrows. Once she shows up, all hell breaks loose.
Blood on the Moon is an action packed book and really makes you want to keep reading. Not only does it have action, but also steamy romance, which is always a plus. I will say that there is some violence, gore and a tad bit of sexual content, not that I'm complaining, just a forewarning for those of you who do not enjoy the listed content. I would like to thank Cassiel Knight for allowing me the privilege of reading and reviewing her book and I look forward to reading your other works!

This author definitely knows how to take you for a ride when you read one of her books. This is the second novel I have read from her and I am not disappointed. The cover is beautifully and once you start to read you will be able to tell that it is perfect for the storyline. Each of her characters are perfectly thought out and she writes it with a twist that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. In other words the plot has an amazing flow that will keep the readers continuously entranced in my opinion, I know it did me. This one is has all the awesome features of lots of action, suspense, mystery and maybe a small hint of romance. Mythologies have always been one of my favorite genres to read, so being carried into the battle of the Egyptian gods and goddess fighting in modern day through their children. Mia, who happens to be this archeologist/tomb raider is one woman you want to be on her good side and do not want to cross. She always has been lucky when she goes after what she wants and is extremely loyal to her friends, family, and preserving all things ancient. So when she becomes betrayed by someone who she thought she could trust and the life of her assistant and who she considers as family is put in danger, Mia will do almost anything to get Sophie back! However, not everyone is who they seem in this novel, I loved how the author throughout the book kept throwing the twists and turns because just when I thought I had the person on who betrayed her pinpointed it turned out to be someone totally unexpected. Sides will have to be chosen! This book has become one of my favorite books in this genre and I look forward to reading more by this author.

I've always been interested in Classical mythology (Greece and Rome) and Egyptian mythology too. So when I started to read Blood on the Moon by Cassiel Knight, I was drawn in from the beginning, and enjoyed the entire book. I thought the pacing was good, and it held my attention to the end. There were scenes in the book when I laughed out loud as well. Having read Blood on the Moon, I hope there's a sequel. I would like to see how the story continues, as I want to read more about all the characters.
The main character, Mia Langdon, is an archaeologist, and from the first page, I couldn't help but think she was a combination of Indiana Jones and Lara Croft. That's definitely a positive thing, as I love the Indiana Jones movies. Because of that, I liked her. She was strong, tough, and determined, while caring about those that worked for her. I also loved how she could be sarcastic at times. There were several secondary characters that I grew to like - Harrison, Sebastian, Jewel and Sophie. I was drawn to Ryder as well, just because of the mystery surrounding him. I'll also admit that as far as secondary characters, he ended up being one of my favorites.
This was a good urban fantasy book, with incorporation of Egyptian mythology as well. Because of that, I would recommend it to those who like those genres. I give it a 5/5 star rating.
I was going to receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but I liked the last Cassiel Knight book that I read so much, that I had to buy this one. I was not disappointed! I really liked this book as well. Even though it is not a series where Lexi and Mikos continue in this one, Harrison and Mia have almost the same type of relationship as those two. Mia and Harrison have history and were together but broke up over their differing moral issues (she wants to sell the artifacts she finds; he wants them to go to museums). They are forced to work together on finding some powerful arrows but Harrison wants to keep Mia from getting them. She needs them to free her friend who has been kidnapped. There are also paranormal forces at work in the form of ancient Egyptian gods. So there is a lot going on and a lot of intertwining and underlying stories. My only complaint with this story was it seemed a bit slow to get started and get to the action. Other than that is was yet another 5 book read from Cassiel Knight. She now has a new stalker!!
It was a good story but it had several errors such as eye colour swapping back and forth. you get a picture of a character and hear his eyes are green. they are then brown. then back to green. the back to brown. Seriously! it screws with picturing the character. A pretty important character to the story and it pulled me out of the story. If you want them to flash brown or green make them hazel or something! and the heroine referring to someone as The Bastard in a short timeframe, get a new thing to call him it got old, fast. But the storyline was exciting and action was pretty cool but sometimes I found it hard to get back into the story. I can forgive occasional spelling errors and punctuation it doesn't mess up the flow, but character description does. according to the book there may be others following BotM, but I haven't seen anything on the Author page. I would probably be interested in reading it, I wish there was more good Tomb Raider-esq stories out there. And a kickass Heroine!

As a fan of Indiana Jones and Laura Croft, I enjoyed this Blood on the Moon because the story took the quest for an Egyptian artifact one step further with direct Egyptian God intervention. The story's heroine, Mia is as equally compelling as the main female villain, Vivian.
A real page turner! Great story with likable characters and one bad-ass heroine. Cassiel Knight takes you on a journey through the darkest secrets of Egypt. Add a couple Egyptian Gods into the mix and you're off to a thriller of a ride.
