The best-selling books from The MacLomain Series, including one short Celtic story and three full length time-travel Highlander novels, are now available in a boxed set.
THE KING'S DRUIDESS - Chiomara will not be swayed from prophecy. If the Gods of Ireland request that she couple with the king, so be it. If it is also their wish that he marry another woman, who is she, a simple Druid, to stand in their way? But King Erc is in love with Chiomara. Will he risk the whole of his kingdom for what lays in his heart?
FATE'S MONOLITH- Arianna has been haunted by the dream of a phantom Scottish warrior. Her infatuation with the dream intensifies until All Hallows' Eve when she's whisked back in time. Iain MacLomain has long awaited the arrival of his promised bride. She claims to not be the woman intended for him but she fits the description given him of her. Her defiance will end up costing them everything and rips them apart. However, a Scottish Chieftain with magic at his disposal is capable of most anything. Will he hold Arianna in his arms again or is she lost to him forever?
DESTINY'S DENIAL- Caitlin relives the same nightmare every night for three years. Then one day, the dream seeps into reality when an ethereal Scotsman visits. When Caitlin discovers a family heirloom in the attic she soon learns the truth about her dream. Ferchar MacLomain found what he was looking for. Caitlin. To bring her to Cowal will spell disaster-a foreseen threat to himself, his clan, and Caitlin. As a visionary, it's his obligation to protect her. As a man, he's determined to ignore his heart. Can he thwart his destiny? Or will he forever be a slave to the gods of old.
SYLVAN MIST- Coira refuses to acknowledge the Scotsman haunting her. Why should she? She carries no magic and she's newly engaged. She much prefers a proper English gentleman to a barbarian living six hundred years in the past. However, as one whirlwind day will prove, she has little choice in the matter. William MacLomain did not call her back, yet she arrives. Coira is not the woman meant for him. Or is she? Her arrival marks the start of a highland war unlike any Scotland has witnessed before. Soon, he finds himself in a tangled web of duty, loyalty and unexpected love. A love so unattainable and powerful it may cost him the war; and his heart.
These stories contain strong sexual content and are recommended for a mature audience.

There are times with the Amazon Kindle that taking a chance with a cheap offer can really pay off as you find a gem of a book, then there are times when reading can become a slog. The Sky Purington, MacLomain series started with great hope and expectation based on the previous reader’s reviews. The blurb for the books seemed interesting and could be quite different. The reviews by readers for this series were positive on Amazon. I thought the books would be some interesting distraction reading. How wrong was I! There are four stories in this series, one novella and three novels, all deal with magic, time travel and big strong Celtic/Scottish men wanting some feisty women. Look you know what you are getting with this series of books. There is no mystery, no doubting where the ending is and what it will be. What really counts to make the books work is great characters and great sexual tension. Plus there also needs to be some good solid writing and it has to believable. The characters come across rather well and they all have their strengths and weakness. You find yourself frustrated by the characters and enjoying their growth. What made me struggle with this book was the writing and the lack of a really good editor. To be honest there was moments when I wanted to gag on some of the descriptions ‘A mist of loving surrounded Erc and Chiamara and brought them through what would have been many turns of the moon in a moment, though no time passed on Earth.’ I know the author was trying to create some ethereal sense of the world she has created but there need to be pruning of the overuse of the adjectives. For example ‘Torment magnified the verdant intensity of those sensual eyes.’ I had to look up verdant to find out it is green. Then there was the description of Arianne riding Iain like a banshee. Sorry but a banshee wails when death is approaching so the romance of the moment was kind of lost. I could give you a stack of these but after a while you become tired of reading great tracts of verbose prose that does not propel the story forward. The other thing that amused me as I read the books was the wind, as it did a lot of whipping of hair, clothes and whatever else was lying around. I could not get into the books at all; I found the use of adjectives overwhelming and it made reading a real chore. There will be people who love this style and I appreciate that. For me it did not work and that is a personal choice. If you are into the romance, highland flings then this maybe your cup of tea, it just was not mine.
DNF By the time I made it part way through Destiny's Denial this had become a chore to read. There was so many character storylines going left and right without any clarity as to what the core idea was to be. Very confusing and couldn't hold my focus.
Wonderful set of 4 books, of time travel, magic and great love! If you love all things Scotland, alpha men in kilts, strong women, both who love with heart and soul these books are for you. Each is its own story but all woven together by recurring characters. These characters were so carefully crafted with love they sneak into your heart. I was reading so intently that I was a part of the story. I had tears streaming down my face more than once. Each book took me to the edge and then pulled me back again. The mix of magic, the beauty of Scotland, and the peaks and valleys of finding and losing a soul mate all mix together perfectly for four of the most expansive, beautiful stories I have read in a long time. I MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND The MacLomain Series 1-4.
After reading Calum's Curse and the MacLomain Early Years I just had to know more!! I wasn't disappointed. Again there was enough historical information to make it interesting but not so much that a reader like myself who doesn't usually read historical romance would get bored. The characters were wonderful and I loved the way they all interconnected from series to series and across generations.
I was really disappointed when I finished that the Next generation was not available yet, but Today the first book is out, so I'm off to find out what happens next.
A convoluted story whose action gets bogged down or into impossible places and poof! is saved by magic. The author has potential, however the bad grammar and misuse of words (people 'shudder', they don't 'shutter'; minutes 'passed' not 'past', Nikita "lay down" in the other room, not "lied down" etc. etc. etc., spoiled it for me. There were so many errors it was like finding worms in an apple you're eating. A line editor and a proofreader would help immensely.
Talked in riddles couldn't get in to the story made it so boring 😴 I tried to get into it but 3 pagers was enough don't think il bother with the next books
It is rare I give 5 stars, but this intricate series deserves it. Reading them in order gives the reader a sense of knowing the characters and feeling their angst and joy as the story unfolds. There are few bits to criticise, and those are minor, like when Shane meets Liam - there was no mention that they looked alike in the scene, although it was mentioned in a previous book. The highs and lows of all the relationships are vividly and passionately told, even those not central to the saga. Even Stephen gets a mention as his motives and compassion are turned into action. The sadness of parting and loves lost and found tear at the heartstrings, whilst feeling the frustration of having vital information withheld. Despite this control, Adlin still comes across as a caring grandfather and one devoted to his family, clan and Scotland. His strong belief in fate and not meddling in what will be, is admirable and shows a strength of character his family emulates. As each story is told, the emphasis changes to the new central players, without leaving those previously in the spotlight behind. The weaving of the family tapestry is wonderful.
I did enjoy these four books. All the imaginary of ancient Irish and Scottish folklore and the intense romantic stories, made possible through time travel Is quite intriguing and interesting. I didn't give five stars because I found several editorial mistakes. I wouldn't want that to stop anyone reading the stories though. Sky has written a number of other series surrounding this one - going back to the origins, literally in the mists of the long past, forward to the next generations as well as "side stories" of some of the characters. I just wish I'd realised before I started that, although these four were great on their own, there is a definite reading order - and I do like to read things in the right order! I can't wait to start at the beginning and read the whole, long and fascinating saga as it unfolds from the start!
I absolutely love the MacLomains! I have read every book, including Viking Ancestors, multiple times. I still cry when Adlin gives his magic to Coira making her the fourth MacLomain wizard. I find his departure very touching. Even though I know that's not the last we see of him. ;-) Sorry for spoiler, if you have not yet read the subsequent series. I applaud Ms. Purington for her extraordinary talent for spinning the most wonderful stories. Her books are some of the first ones I read when I got my first Kindle years ago. If you have not read her continuations of the MacLomains and their Viking ancestors, please do. You will not regret it.
Get ready to binge-read this box-set! Engaging if convoluted storyline with time travel and magic.
I never knew what was going to happen next and even though I got a bit lost sometimes between the "when" and the "why" in the character's lives, I was enjoying the ride so much that I didn't care.
I believe this set is the original MacLomain series, however there are multiple other stories linked to these, including a prequel series which explains some background of key characters from this set.
There are a lot of descriptive love scenes in these books.
These were SO fun to read. And the way all the characters weave together between the past and present is not only exciting, but impressive. Would rate it 5 stars if some editorial fixes were made, but the story is fun, relatively fast to read, and you'll likely become invested and intrigued with all of the characters.
I could not keep this series down. Stayed up late and when I had a break I would pick up where I left off. Please gradually this and the other series that Sky writes. So awesome in how the series is written by this awesome author. Please read this series.I highly recommend it!!
I unfortunately have read her series out of order. So some of the characters I know their future but not their past, so it gets a little confusing. But overall there is a good balance of story and romance. Sometimes it gets a little confusing with the time traveling. But overall I enjoyed it.
Truly an excellent time travel book. The characters and sceneries come to life as each page turns. Once you start reading you’ll not want to stop reading. Hold on your seats, settle in and get comfortable as the stories come to life with romance, love, evil, war and what each person desires that one true love ( soulmate)
Truly found a new series! Sky's characters are honest and true, they captivate and inspire. Been a long while since I've read a series hard to put down to take care of responsibilities!! Had to get to the end, only to want to pick up another series with these characters! Thank you so much for sharing them!!!
I usually don't like time travel books because of all the heartache and pain, but this MacLomain Series has been quite the enjoyable read!! Surprisingly it was, I don't know quite how to explain it... I guess as a reader we were not left hanging and wondering... Very well written!! Worth your time to check out this "Time travel boxed set"!
I enjoyed this box set on the whole. I love Ms. Puringtons books. They have a way of reeling me in with crazy time-travel adventure and epic love stories. I can't wait to read more about the MacLomains and their descendants.
Shirtless Scottsmen, Time Travel, Romance, Witches, Wizards, and Ghosts! How can a fantasy book loving reader go wrong with such a combination? You can't! Highly recommend.
These three books have brought me so much pleasure and joy to read!! The way these characters lives intermingle and join together will leave you breathless and wanting more!
I would like to say that these books were hard to put down. I loved how the family of characters were written. Kept me captivated with all the family and time travel. Thank you for taking me on a ride through time.
This is the 2nd MacMomain series I have read. It is wonderfully written, a bit twisty, hugely enchanted. I will not be happy until I read all the books MacLomain. On to Next Generation.
Interesting how each story has an author 🤔Makes one wonder whether Sky Purington is herself a time traveler, witch or wizard and that's how she manages to draw us so deeply into the story.
I really love the characters in these books. There is more graphic sex in them than I would would prefer. Not over the top but still, I skip over what I don’t care to read. It doesn’t keep me from reading her books, because o love the story lines.
Inside this set you’ll find intriguing stories, admirable heroes and heroines—some with magic, some without. Time travel and selfish, evil villains often complicate the course of true love. I enjoy the main characters and so may reread this set again. 😃
If you like alot of adventure, time travel to the past and the future, hunky highland men in kilts, SCOTLAND, Ireland and lots of magic good and evil then this set of books is for you.
Love all of Sky's books. Enjoy the time travel and the time of the series. The people in the books seem real.. Keep writing the books. I will keep reading them.
