Handsome Adonis seeks Goddess of Love

This was a nice enough read. No real drama. Rich guy, no BDSM, nice girl.

Finally. FINALLY! A book about an alpha male billionaire that's not into BDSM! It's become a boring cliche, although it remains entertaining, sometimes.
I really liked this book! It was Simple and not cluttered with angst and back and forth bullshit. No. It was refreshing and nice for a change to see a successful man not fighting demons of his past or recovering from a fractured childhood.

Daniel was delicious! He was smart, successful, sexy and attentive. Sabrina was sweet and a good friend, going to great lengths for her roommate and getting something wonderful in the end.

The only thing I will say is the rushed nature of their relationship. Daniel and Sabrina literally fall in love in 2 days, though it may have taken a little longer to realize it and admit it to themselves.
Although that seems a bit far-fetched, their adoration for each other wasn't. If you can get passed that, which I did very easily, then you'll enjoy this book about finally finding the one.

Fun story, likeable characters...and some hot sex scenes? What's not to like?

This book opened like another book I have read before (Fifty Shades, anyone?)where the best friend/roommate falls ill and suckers her wholesome friend into substituting for her, only this time it isn't an interview she'll be going for.

I instantly liked Daniel. Who wouldn't? The man was completely betrayed by his girlfriend and lawyer from the opening chapter. Not that it ruined his week or anything. Daniel is clearly a workaholic and wasn't all that emotionally attached anyway, making you wonder, was it just that he was emotionally unavailable in general, or was it just that the right woman hadn't come along yet to sweep him off his feet? (Yes, I think men should be swept off their feet too sometimes!)

I also took an instant liking to Sabrina. She was, as I said, wholesome, yet vibrant and successful and well, the perfect fit for Daniel if you ask me. So when these two finally met, I was rooting for their success. Of course, Daniel doesn't know she isn't an escort and since she is a stand-in for her friend, Holly, he doesn't actually know her name either. All this confusion makes for a messy romance that is as passionate as it is nerve wracking. You never know how either one is going to react when the faced with the truth!

The affair turns to love in about two days. Yes, two days! Only, unlike in a lot of stories I read, it was totally and completely believable. I found myself stopping to count them out just to be sure. The two were so connected that I actually felt like they had been together for weeks. Color me surprised! The author did a fantastic job weaving two characters and their lives together in such a short amount of time that it's almost mind-blowing. Definitely a book that sucks you in and a worthwhile read!

The story itself was written well. The characters were even likable. If only I could have gotten past the idea that this supposed intelligent woman, Sabrina, was willing to jeopardize her career to fill in for a friend as an escort. Nothing about that seemed remotely believable. Not to mention the girl was not the one night stand type much less likely to have sex with some stranger willing to pay for it. Add to that her awkward situation with one of the attorneys in her office and it makes it an even worse decision. What better way to make some perve from work think he could treat you that way. Not the actual result but really this woman would have to have considered the results right? This set up just did not work for me so regardless of my likening the characters and finding nothing wrong with the writing style I could not like the book.

Utter crap with misogynistic and homophobic remarks and observations.

The protag already explained that he is the kind of man who thinks that only women and gays make scenes and are hysteric. He also thinks that only women and gays like gossip.

So, basically, right now it looks as if gays are women with a penis. Thanks for enlightening us.

This is so bad, I can't even.

Too much.

Daniel has just broken up with his cheating girlfriend just before he's about to head to San Francisco to buy out a company in one of the biggest deals for his company. He has a dinner to attend the following night and to stop gold digging women trying to secure him he asks his best friend Tim to hire him an escort for the evening to ward off unwelcome women...the Sabrina arrives and knocks him off his feet that his plans instantly change....

Holly is an escort on the verge of being fired but sickness is overwhelming her so talks her roommate and best friend since school Sabrina into saving her by attending her job in her place. Sabrina reluctantly agrees to play "Holly" for the evening since she has been single for 3 years and wants to help her friend. Little does she know what is waiting for her when Daniel opens the door to her....

Loved this book, the romance was fast paced and very hot in places with a beautiful ending. Just wished it didn't finish so soon...also laugh out loud funny in places! Great read!

What was that??

Awful afwul idea that "blossomed" into a horrible story about a girl who pretended to be an escort and then slept with the guy on their first "date". And then they slept together some more (well, there wasn't much sleeping involved with what they were doing, humping each other like two dogs in heat).

I liked Pretty Woman much better.

Although very short I really enjoyed this. I felt there was enough going on to keep the story moving. Enough hot scenes between Daniel and Sabrina, who is working as a stand in escort for her roommate. I wished it was longer and felt like there was potentially more to add in the end.

Daniel has just broken up with his girlfriend and is on his way to San Francisco for business, whilst there he hires an escort to accompany him to a business event. Sabrina turns up at his hotel, but what he doesn't realize is that she is not a real escort but actually covering for her friend who is unwell. The couple have an instant attraction and soon build up a hot sexual chemistry, but what happens when lies are told and the truth is revealed ?!?!
I'm a big fan of Tina Folsom's writing. Her characters are always interesting and lovable and her bedroom scenes are always hot and steamy, just how I like books!!
The only problem I had with the story was the escort part, nothing against escorts themselves but the fact that she filled in for her friend so willingly when she was ill, I mean it's not like doing your friends shift at the supermarket. And then the later surprise that involved their friends had me looking at my kindle saying "Really!!" Saying that, it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book and I sat down and read it in one sitting!!
Also has a lovely epilogue which I always appreciate :0)
HOT, sexy, fun and more than deserving of 5*

The book started out like
.
But as I was reading it the movie

kept popping up into my head, since there were a few similarities with it too…
It was an interesting story line and plot, one that you won’t even expect with the twists and turns. As well as the conspiring friends that coerced and orchestrated the entire meeting of the two main characters in their whirlwind courtship.

I literally could not put this book down, it was one of the most romantic stories I've ever read. The sex scenes were very hot and passionate! I was so involved with Sabrina as I read, I felt as if she were someone I knew. I was happy when she was happy, sad when she's sad etc. And Daniel...you can't help but fall in love with this sweet, protective but sexy as hell man! Can't wait for another romance by Tina Folsom!

Look, I get that this is erotica and all, but in my opinion, this was waaaay too instalovey and there was too much focus on the sex rather than the plot...

2.5 Tbh mediocre. The writing needed some help. There’s one part where she described being kissed was like entering the cave of Ali babas hidden treasure and I lost it. Good storyline tho.

Alright so I found the premise of Lawful Escort to be fun. The h is faking out being an escort for her sick friend, puts that good thang on the H and now has him hooked. Well she's a lawyer aside from this fun escapade and guess who just started business with the law firm? You guess it. The H. So like I said I was expecting 1. that they do the whole escort/john thing and go their separate ways thinking about the one that got away. 2. After that one night/weekend, they both show up on Monday morning at the law office, sitting across from each other in the conference room - shock, steamy gazes, 3. I don't know, I'm not a writer but all the other stuff that gets them to an HEA.

That didn't happen though. Instead the h keeps the charade going that she is an escort and the H lets her even though about half way through the book he finds out that she isn't. They have lots of sex. She gets mad at him for LETTING her keep the charade up even though ultimately they both lied and actually she lied longer. Anyways.

The other reason why this isn't a full 3 star read, the hero had some weird thoughts about other people. He had some really sexist/homophobic moments: "Hysterics were for women and gay guys. He''d never been emotional like others, at least not since puberty"...So Tina Folsom you are saying that grown straight women and grown gay men have the same emotional countenance of a straight teen male. Dang. Privilege much. Feminist war cry in 3...2..1..aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Here's another gem: "He knew how much Tim liked some good gossip. In that respect gay men were like women." That's one hell of a stereotype for both groups. At times I wondered in Tina Folsom is a psuedonym for a man. Cause some of the mentalities that the hero had.. hmmmm I can't get with it. Happy it was free. Fun premise. Lots of sex. Execution iffy. Mysoginist hero. The end.

"Audrey, there's no need for you to fly out to California. Here's your key. We're done."
He placed her apartment key onto the dresser and picked up his file.
"Daniel, we need to talk about this."
He shook his head. He wasn't one to make a big scene. Hysterics were for women and gay guys.

Not only is this one poorly written, it's full of offensive stereotypes and misinformation, not to mention ever-present repetitiveness, which is unfortunately the norm in this genre. And let's not forget the annoying insta-love.

He was on the rebound, and it was obvious that he didn't want to have another relationship. Why else hire an escort? It guaranteed sex without the strings attached.

Uh, no. I'm pretty sure that's called prostitution, which is illegal; legit escort service companies would be shut down pronto if this was condoned.
Also, some of the sexual euphemisms are just plain ghastly.

"Per sempre," he whispered and pressed his lips on hers, then invaded her mouth with his tongue, and plundered her as if she were Ali Baba's cave of treasures.

And then he sent her over the edge and continued slicing into her as her orgasm claimed her.

I actually counted at least four occurrences of the word sliced/slicing used in reference to the act of intercourse. Ewww! 'Nuff said.

Lawful Escorted by Tina Folsom is a fantastic read. The writing is clever and precise. Daniel, a successful business man, walks in to find his girlfriend in bed with his attorney. He quickly dumps her and fires him. In the limo to the airport he calls his gay friend Tim, and asks him to arrange for an escort for him when he arrives in San Francisco. Tim is in cahoots with Holly, a real escort to have her best friend Sabrina substitute for her when she acts sick with a threat from her agency of firing if she doesn't keep the assignment. Sabrina agrees and the last thing she expects is such a good looking Daniel. Daniels former girlfriend shows up and threatens Holly/Sabrina and she flees. Daniel calls the agency trying to get her back. Daniel takes things in his own hand when he sees Holly /Sabrina in the law office being harrassed by a lawyer named Hannigan. He learns from the real Holly what happened. He realizes he loves her. Discover how he turns Sabrina 's doubts and fears into love and happiness.

There was a lot of hot sex in this one, and at first I thought I was going to get bored with it. However, Daniel realizes what he feels for Holly/Sabrina, it kept me wanting it to all work out. It's an easy one-sit read.

Not sufficient

So the idea behind this book was good, the chemistry between the characters was off the charts. But there's nothing that ruins a book faster for me than the female lead giving up her dreams for a man. And the fact that her career is in shambles through no fault of her own isn't actually fixed at the end of the book. Yep she gets her predictable HEA but it's like the career she put all that work and dedication into isn't important. He's not giving up his career. Why is it always the woman who's supposed to give up everything for love and everyone calls that happily ever after. A great love life is awesome but that's probably not going to leave most people feeling fulfilled if that's all they have. A sense of personal accomplishment is important to making most people feel whole as a person. No one's life can be entirely about their significant other and it shouldn't be and I'm so freaking tired of romance novelist who feel the need to paint it like it should be. NO that's not happily ever after and NO that's not good enough for me.

Also the contract is really messed up. I mean if you think about it. He had her former boss write a contract that makes her out to be a glorified, permanent prostitute. It doesn't say anything about being a spouse. That's not okay. Not when she held a position that's supposed to demand respect and I'm left with no impression that he respects her intelligence at all. And yeah I'm freaking angry about it.

I'm also angry that she does NOTHING to stand up for herself in the workplace. She's supposed to be a freaking lawyer. She ought to have a little backbone because if they did terminate her employment she has a headline worthy wrongful termination suit. Sexual harrassment is ILLEGAL. She's a lawyer, she of all people should not only know it, but be willing to fight to ensure she can work somewhere without it.

Plus seriously two dates is no love so the whole timeline of this doesn't work for me at all.

I mean parts of it are a fun read but other parts just ruined the whole thing for me.

Band 4: Eine unvergessliche Nacht
Band 5: Eine langsame Verführung (März 2015)
