OH MY GOSH?! I SWEAR, MINTA SUZUMARU!! THE WAY THIS MANGA MADE ME FEEL. I'M JUST... UGH! 🫰
Sensei, you really know how to get me! Beautiful art + Minta Suzumaru magic + cohabitation + policeman + traditional clothes + glasses + unrequited love + flirty but clueless + angst = Perfection 🤌
Aside from the age-gap issue, though, everything is lovely!!
A story about a good natured (and slightly an airhead) police officer named Goutarou (28 y.o) with Akihito (19 y.o), a lonely young master of a famous kimono shop. Goutarou was assigned to be Akihito's guardian because Ryouko-san, a kind police woman, got worried about his "lifestyle" (since he always takes some random men as "visitors" during the night). At first, Goutarou didn't really think about Akihito's behavior. But after knowing the reason behind Akihito's loneliness, he couldn't leave him alone.
And then things developed so well, here and there. LOL.

Another good one from Minta-sensei! She's always good at writing storylines~ It started out quite strong((bcs Akihito carelessly sleeping around with different partner almost every night)), but it took a turn into something really fluffy in no time.
Among all the series that Sensei wrote so far this is the only one where the seme is more attractive than the uke, personality-wise and face-wise ((for me ofc LOL)). An A+ grade man indeed [chef's kiss].
((p.s: i included their ages in case some people didn't feel comfortable with age-gap couple. but imo, a 9 years age-gap when they both already an adult is not a problem, but yeah i put it just in case ehe.))
A lovely romance about 28 year old police officer who is tasked with looking after a nineteen year old boy who recently lost his parents in a car accident and now not dealing well. It was a pleasant read, I liked that both of the MCs are kind of doofuses. The story is a good one but I read it right after I Didn't Mean to Fall in Love with You and I found it lacking in comparison. Still I like Suzumaru Minta's artstyle and the sweet consent-based romances.
*Original Review* This was so badly written??? Like the story did not flow at all and it barely made sense. It just... wasn't good. The only reason this isn't one star is because the art is really cute.
*Reread 10/30/2024* I've now read almost all of Minta Suzumaru's works and I love them so I wanted to give this a second chance, but I still don't like this one. There's something I really dislike about the way this is written. Like you don't get enough about either of the characters and the story is just kind of weird in general Idk, I'm not a fan of this one.
This author is officially a favorite of mine like OMGGGGG the art is gorgeous!!! I also have a vague feeling that I've read this book before but who cares, I'd reread this again and again!!
It started off a bit, uh, confusing but everyone has their ways of filling the whole in their hearts, just *cries* my baby, I'm glad Gotaro came into his life! Akihito has been mourning the loss of his family and coping in very harmful ways. Luckily, he has people who love and worry about him and Superior Officer Ryoko arranges for officer Gotaro to help clear out Kuze Manor of rotten SCUM. And maybe to help heal Akihito's pretty little heart.
Super loved how the two interact and just, adorbs and spicy. I would love to see more of them
This feels like it was designed to be shocking, but then didn't have any logic to back it up. The characters just act in whatever way serves the plot. There's just something a bit too unrealistic about someone taking on a bunch of lovers in such a specific way that they don't even want just because they're lonely. There are so many other ways to soothe loneliness, or so many other less mechanical setups that would be more believable.
Still, once the initial premise has been overcome, after that it's just a normal love story where you can kind of see why they love each other, but also not really. The relationship just seems so circumstantial that logic dictates it would end up very flimsy. This might be because the characterisation is also a little shallow. The police officer is just generically caring at all times.
Overall, I think this is just a bit meh on all fronts. It's not bad, but it's not great either.
the premise of this was kinda stupid lol anyway honestly policeman x innmaker seemed interesting but the plot and story were just not it ,,, it’s all SO superficial and boring the age gap was also iffy but honestly not the biggest con here lol it maybe could’ve worked (but not with this character) and not him sleeping with a married man ✋ reasons were not justified (cuz he was lonely?? ok….LOL) uhhh what else, i had to skim during some (most) of the middle parts because of the secondhand embarrassment!! 😫 like stop i cant why are you like this !!
the art was really good tho, and the characters were pretty! but thats about it
I could never tell from the cover but but the top is a police? Bruh I'm blind. Anyways, very different character personalities and identities but it's pretty much just a slice of life (I'm not gonna say it's completely innocent). I really like the art. It’s from my favorite artist after all lol.
A mysterious mystery indeed 👀 / Akihito 😭 / I wonder how many of these dark hair / light hair couples might be inspired by banana fish? / you’re playing a dangerous game my dear / cute / I’m like 👁️👄👁️ / the uncle is 😍 / the roach was a saviour
