Three sexy cops take the law into their own hands and beds in this deliciously wicked anthology that features Sasha White's Sex as a Weapon, in which Kane Michaels, on the trail of a beautiful thief, enters into a bondage club where he discovers the ultimate aphrodisiac--trust. Original.
Gifted with a salacious imagination, NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Sasha White’s brand of White Hot romance is all about Alpha men and the strong, sassy women it takes to hold them. With a voice that is called “distinctive and delicious” by The Romance Studio, this Canadian author has become a reader favorite.
Since 2004 Sasha has followed her fancy and built a backlist full of sexy contemporary, and paranormal romances with a few stand alone twists thrown in to keep everyone entertained.
Sasha lives in Northern Alberta with her two cats and believes family, and living life to it's fullest are the most important things, so do what you love, especially if that means reading!
SEX AS A WEAPON is by Sasha White. This author has done it again! Every read of hers that I have read so far have been exceptionally done, and SEX AS A WEAPON too was just a great read from the start to the ending. As Detective Kane goes after the known Risqué Robber, they catch up with each other, and the attraction is mutual and sizzling. The light bondage scenes were beautifully sensual done! Too, this sizzling story as a novella was fully done and believable that its satisfying ending had me looking up what book will be out of hers next! As an autobuy author, I recommend her other reads as well, PURE SEX, BOUND, and LUSH that are out now.
ARRESTED is the second story in the anthology by Alyssa Brooks. Reid Walker, a sheriff, pulls over Kristen Montgomery for a possible stolen car. The sudden attraction and intensity of their romance was a done well. Both having backgrounds that bear out through the story made also for an emotional read. This author also has some great ebooks available and are listed at her site.
DETROIT'S FINEST is the last story in the anthology by Renée Alexis. This author also has a single title book in this publisher, that will be going on my wishlist. DETROIT'S FINEST was my first read of hers. Officer Davenport stops Tracey on a highway for speeding where they meet. Right there in the beginning scenes, the hero and heroine in the story, kick off their romance that steams off the pages.
This anthology is a perfect weekend read! Sasha White's story was the best out of the three, with the other two stories as good reads. With the theme of law enforcement within the stories, they made for quick sizzling reads that can be read each in a sitting. Also a keeper!
First story was the best but it was only 3 stars for me...then they went downhill. Second story 2 stars. The last story was almost unreadable for me 1 star
So I just finished this one...at least all that I am going to read of it. I read the first two stories, but the third, I am sorry, it was just DNF for me.
First was 'The Ties That Bind' by Sasha White. This was okay, but it didn't really grab me...I know these are short stories right? Well, that being said, I have read anthologies previously that each story had good character development and a good story line, even with a limited number of pages. Anyhow, I would give this story 2½ stars.
Second story was Arrested by Alyssa Brooks. This story I enjoyed more, although I was somewhat frustrated with the heroe's complete refusal to listen to the heroine's story. It was a better read though, would give it 3 stars.
Last story was 'Detroit's Finest' by Rene Alexis. I'm sorry, I just didn't care for the author's style of writing at all. While it may appeal to some readers, it just didn't do it for me, and I gave up about one third of the way through.
Overall I am giving this book 2 stars, and I know I will not read it again.
The first two stories in this anthology were exactly what I expected--short, sexy stories.
The third story, though, was awful. While I typically don't enjoy a story told in first person, I was willing to read it because I enjoyed the first two stories in the anthology. I really struggled with the hero's relationship with the heroine's boss and his inability to stand up for himself. If I could rate the stories individually, I would give "Detroit's Finest" 0 stars.
Anyone who is even remotely connected with law enforcement would howl at these three stories - either in outrage or hysterical laughter - they are that bad. In my opinion this is contemporary erotica for the clueless.
I am always excited to see an anthology with a story by Sasha White in it, as I like all her writing and keep hoping I will find another author I will like as well. I enjoyed the other stories in this book, but the one by Sasha was my favorite.
