Five of the characters from the Sesame Street television show - Zoe, Telly, Elmo, Grover and Herry - decide to dress up as witches for Halloween, asking each person they encounter while trick-or-treating to identify who's who. They manage to fool everyone but Oscar the Grouch, who has a trick of his own up his sleeve...
As someone whose family didn't have a television in the home when I was a young child, I grew up without watching either Sesame Street or The Muppets, although I have seen snippets of both. This isn't a book, therefore, I would have been likely to pick up, were I not interested in witchy picture-books of all kinds. Be that as it may, it was a fun little Halloween adventure, and I would imagine that young children will gravitate towards it brightly colored illustrations and sense of fun.

This was our favorite Halloween book. It was a really really cute story, and the illustrations are gorgeous. Sesame Street little golden books from this era have such expressive illustrations. You could really feel the disappointment they were experiencing when Oscar took the wind out of their sails. Most of the adults and the baby were laughing throughout this book. It was very cute.

Holy cow, I think I've read this one about a 1,000 times. I finally hid it under a pile of books. It's a fine Sesame Street Halloween book, and my three year old loves it. I just needed a break from "which witch is which?" I was starting to feel like Oscar. I'm sure by next Halloween I'll be happily reading this one again.
The kids thought this story was super cute. None of them are a fan of Elmo, so they were happy to see he was just background. All the kids, even my ten year old, loved Oscar's joke at the end. I have a feeling this will be a favorite for years to come. We may even use it as a language lesson next year.
Adorable Sesame Street Halloween book, whwew Grover, Elmo, and friends all dress up as witches to trick-or-treat. Can anyone guess Which Witch is Which?
