Certainly helpful and inspiring though different than what I expected. A full chapter was devoted to blessing but the book lacked strong Biblical basis for blessing as they described (the patriarch Jacob being essentially the only example). Loved the line “our culture teaches our kids to feast and play, but we need to teach our children to fast and pray.” Written by charismatics.

Great book for Christian parents that have been looking for some practical advice on learning how to pray for their children as well as teach them how to pray. The first half of the book was terrific. You can put the information to use immediately. It even has some sample prayers at the end of each chapter. I didn't find as much value in the latter half. This is one of the few books I've maintained in my library that I've given a second read.

Cheryl & Arlyn do an excellent job with showing you how to pray for your kids & how to pray with your kids. More importantly, they spend time showing ways to release children to pray (and cite several other books that go into more detail). They introduce some ideas that are good around the home, outside of the home, and in a children's ministry setting.
