19 year old Jamie has had it with living. He has a terrible job, no friends, and his home life is unbearable. He wants to end it all, but is too frightened to slit his own wrists. Instead he goes to The Victorian, a seedy underground blood den for vampires and their groupies, where he hopes to find an angel of death to end it all for him. Instead he finds Damian, who has much sexier things on his mind than death. Will Jamie succeed in his plan of suicide by vampire, or will he get an unexpected HEA?
This story is m/m paranormal erotica. It contains BDSM, anal sex, dubious consent, blood play, age gap (116 years), bjs.
Leigh Wilder has been writing for 17 years and writing erotica for 9. She published her first story at the age of 20, but hasn't been actively pursuing publication until very recently. She lives in Columbus, OH with 3 cats and her fiance.
this story had a strange build but then it went from strange too good i enjoyed it but it just needed that little big more erotica or story focus too get too the next level
pros + character build + short story + story was good
cons - the first few pages felt off for me - was on smashwords but has since been removed (hard to find) - Locked behind a paywall
For a story meant to be written porn, there was very little of it. The story starts off with a Weeaboo (Boyfriends word), trying to escape, to end his life. The story was short and left me wanting to know if the powerful vampire was going to keep him. I gave it three stars, it was too short for my liking, had very little heat, but the submission/master part of the story was interstring.
It’s time for another edition of Frodo’s Hobbit Sized Reviews! This is where I write a review in the time I have before I go to work or before I go to bed. Short and sweet just like 2nd breakfast!
I hadn't realized it had been 2 whole months since a Hobbit Sized Review, wow! Well the style fits perfectly for this short piece. Jamie is a bit of a whiner as the MC, but he's someone you can sympathize with because of his home situation. You may not root for Jamie, but he may be too innocent in the end for you to care. As for Damian? Insert sexy older male vampire model here please! Damian is your typical gorgeous vampire, a seasoned pro in the bedroom, and with an apparent soft spot for the innocent and the suffering. You can't not like him.
The only complaint I have is the transition from Jamie's suicide plan to his time with Damian is a bit rough. It's minor and it isn't glaring, but noticeable. Wilder excels once you move from the dialogue and over to the intimate scenes. While Drain Me Dry is a short piece, Wilder will have no problem getting you all hot and bothered and aching (pun intended) for more. It's sexy, it is playful and Damian is everything you could want in a sexy vampire. Once you've drained yourself dry from reading the story you'll be right back for more of Wilder's fantastic writing. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

My Review: This was just okay for me, it was a very short and you don't really get a chance to know either character all that well. I am not a fan of Jamie, he is overly weak in both personality and mentally for me. It is very in your face explicit, which is fine when you are looking for this type of book, I just wasn't expecting to jump right in, I was hoping for more of a storyline. There are hints to a future storyline, I just hope that the rest of the books are a little longer and develop more of a story.
When you have a dead end job, you’re a nineteen year old virgin who gets beaten by your father when you get home, you might think about ending it all. And Jamie decides to go out in style; by vampire. He dresses himself up and heads off to the seedy Victorian to offer himself to whoever wants him. Overcome when he sees a particularly handsome vampire, he gushes compliments at him in his nervousness, but somehow ends up upstairs with him. *** I don’t know this world, so I missed out on whatever world building there was. I can guess from the fact that Gareth is a vamp and still works at a drive-through that vampires are not secret. They do seem to have extra strength and beauty. I’m just not sure that I get why Damian would take an interest in this kid. He could probably have anyone he wanted; why him? 3 stars
This just started out a little too "woe is me", "my life sucks". I will say though that by the end the sex and relationship elements definitely had me enjoying it. I guess it just felt like there was more attention paid to the second half than the first, as far as the quality of the writing went.
...like unexpected entanglements. ...don't mind a little master vamp/mortal boy lovin'. ...enjoy characters in seedy, underground establishments finding a quality partner. ...want to see abusive parents get what's coming to them.
Not going to lie, I enjoyed this one. Jamie and Damian have some sparks between them. Sure, taking your new boy toy to a murder room to play with doesn't scream romance, but it was one memorable night and I don't think Jamie was complaining!
What a super story, this is a short read and i was gutted when it ended. I love my paranormal always different, exciting and fun to read. This story however is quite sad Jamie a young lad abused by his father and ignored by everyone else, wants to seek out a Vampire to end his miserable life. He meets Damian, but is Jamie going to get what he wants? This is a fab start to the Dead End Series and i will be reading the sequel - Addicted to the Bite. I definitely recommend reading this, good characters some hot m/m action too, i want more..........
This was okay. For a short story I guess it was good, and there will be more books, apparently. My main issue was the ending. It could have gone a bit better, but I can live with the ending. It's not bad considering it's a freebie.
I have the Vol.1 book that contains the first 3. And I have to say I like them, honestly was a bit skepitcal a first, I always am when it comes to self published books. However, I really loved them. I loved the plot and look forward to reading more.
Wow. Smokin hot. I wish this would have been longer than 22 pages prior to purchasing the next in the series, which are .99 (for 39 pages) and then 2.99 for 60 something pages. I would much prefer to have the series all combined into one larger storyline.
I find this series quite fascinating. I love the world, I love both of the PsOV, and I particularly enjoy the way that Jamie-boy is described from Damian's point of view.
Very good start for a short story. I am intrigued with where these characters will end up. I did not give it a higher rating because of its length, but I appreciate the free read.
