Good book especially at magic time.
Kaylus finally meets Jewel Valentine & becomes jealous of him when Skyla cares for him.
Skyla learns about Jewel's past before Magicians shows up to take Jewel away; unable to stand the cruelty of the Magicians she fights back & Kaylus is left to clean up the mess again & becomes jealous again when Skyla becomes friendly towards Jewel & unaware of Jewel's request; he wants Skyla to kill him.
Meanwhile Aines is attacking the Towers of Magics & stealing the black boxes at Amenard's request. And of course the Magicians wants to retaliate against her.
Eventually Aine becomes injured, overconfident of her abilities, & her grandmother gave up her life force to save her.
Skyla meets Juvel for the 1st time; flashback of Juvel's birth.

Ok book; good at magic time.
Skyla runs into Jewel again & when Kaylus finds out he instantly becomes jealous which pisses Skyla off. She learns about Jewel's past & when the magicians come looking for him, she deals with them. Of course Kaylus have to clean up her mess.
Aines gets injured by the magicians trap but she managed to escape with help from her grandmother, who gave up her life to save her. Amenard has almost all of the key to complete her goal & sensed Aines's despair.
Skyla meets Jevel for the 1st time when trying to return his ring. She learns Jevel was born 1st then Jewel.
