hmmm...not sure I'd recommend this to all kids. she dyes the neighbor dogs hair pink and that isn't addressed. I'm glad the neighbors are nice, but really? I did like where she had to work to gain the dogs trust.
All the Pinkalicious books are a great read. This is one of my particular favorites however. In this book Pinkalicious dyes her dog's fur pink while laughing. This is an extraordinary way to shed light on animal cruelty. Her parents accepting this behavior from her is a good demonstration on how spoiling your children will lead to harm. Especially with the fact that this is not even Pinkalicious' dog, but her neighbors, who had gone away for vacation at the time. Her neighbor trusted Pinkalicious to take care of her dog because she was not able to bring it with her for vacation, and Pinkalicious betrayed that trust.
This is a fun book for anyone who loves the color pink. The student I read this book with realized that everything in the book was pink! Including the girls name, Pinkalicious, and the dog's name, Pinky. Pinkalicious has to dog sit Pinky and ends up finding that Pinky is afraid of everything. She finds out that Pinky loves baths, but accidentally turns Pinkey pink in the bath. She has to take responsibility and admit her mistake, which could teach students an important lesson about admitting mistakes and being honest.
Hope loves pinkalicious and she loves dogs and pink is for girls and the dog turns pink. It is wonderful and silly. Hope. 😤😤😲😑😤😑😑😲😲😲😑🐮🐦🐤🐷🙉🙉🐹🐷🐦🥝🍠🍠🍓🥒🍠🌰🍈🥒🐹🇧🇭🇧🇭🌰🥕🥕🥝🥕🍞🍓🥒🍆🍊🥝🥊
These are cute and colorful stories for beginning readers. Israel enjoys them and can read most of the words. Pinkalicious is a kind, curious and colorful character that kids relate to.
I absolutely love the "Pinkalicious" series. So, finding a new one is wonderful. ----------------- In "Puptastic!", Pinkalicious's family is dogsitting. That's right, the neighbors have her family to dogsit their dog while they are on vacation. The dog's name is Pinky, so Pinkalicious assumes she will Pink. So, when Pinky turns out to be a white poodle, Pinkalicious is more than a little disappointed. And, then, when Pinky won't play with her or accept treats from her, that small disappoint becomes almost like a depression of sorts. But, Pinkalicious is not about to give up, either. So, Pinkalicious starts thinking like Pinky, and she takes Pinky to the bathroom for a bath. Baths with lots of suds always cheer Pinkalicious up. And, since Pinky jumps in the bathtub, almost immediately, it seems that they cheer Pinky up as well. But, that's when it happens!! Pinkalicious knocks off her mother's bottle of Pink. The Pink falls into the tub with Pinky, and Pink comes out matching her name! That's right....Pinky is now PINK. And, the PINK Pinky is Pinkalicious's best friend! The neighbors come to pick Pinky up in a few days, and are a little surprised at her being PINK. Pinkalicious hands them a green bar of soap to wash her with, and kinda apologizes. They assure her that Pinky loves her now. --------------------- This was an absolutely adorable story.
Pinkalicious dogsits for a neighbor. At first, the dog is scared of her, but when Pinkalicious tries to put herself in a dog's paws she finds a way to connect with the pooch. After a fancu bubble bath the dog's fur is pink and Pinkalicious couldn't be more excited.
I appreciated how Pinkalicious approached a dog's perspective in order to connect with the animal. I was hoping that Pinkalicious would get her own dog, but this was a good read nonetheless. Recommended for girls grades 1-3.
In this story Pinkalicious wants to play with a dog (poodle) that comes to visit. Although the dog is shy Pinkalicious does her best to get the dog to have a fun time.
I like the I Can Read books, because they are leveled and the students can easily read them with little to no help, and help build their confidence. Questions- How would get the puppy to stop being shy? Do you ever feel shy or scared?
As a disclaimer, I should say I'm not a fan of Pinkalicious. My daughter loves her and really anything pink. I'd like to think what I think isn't influenced by my dislike of Pinkalicious, but it could. Puptasic is a I Can Read book - Level 1. It says this should be simple sentences. I don't know that I agree with that for this book. My daughter did enjoy the story and thought it was fun. The pictures are great and you can use the picture to develop the story.
Recommended Ages: grades 1 - 2 (I Can Read Level 1)
