If you liked the concept of Fifty Shades but not necessarily the writing style, this one delivers on both fronts! I loved the first in this series, Inside Heat, and was curious to see how Jason's story would develop without the dynamic of a menage a trois. Going Deep took me as reader in a whole new direction - into the world of BDSM and dominance/submission. I loved the exploration of Jason's dark side and the complexity of his and Carrie's growing relationship. I look forward to more in the Mustangs Baseball series.

Slick‘s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

4 STARS

Okay gang, before I start my review I need to add a little note to it. This book that deals with BDSM and because it deals with that subject I feel it necessary to say that the hero in this book is new to the scene and he takes on a sub who is also fairly new to the scene. The hero (Dom) has one session with an experienced Dom, reads some books, and begins his journey with her. I feel I must stress that in the real world, this would not be acceptable and he would not be acting as a responsible Dom. Yes, I know this is fiction but I feel very strongly that even fictional books on this subject matter should treat the BDSM scene with the respect it deserves. This is in no way a slam to this author or any other author who chooses to write books about BDSM, but I would not want any of our readers to agree to any type of a BDSM relationship without knowing his or her partner’s level of training.

I feel we have a responsibility to make sure anyone considering this type of relationship to do their homework, ask lots of questions, and always, always follow the rules of safe, sane, and consensual. My star rating of this book has nothing to do with my issue with what this Dom and his sub do together; it is based solely on the content of the book.

It was extremely gratifying to read Going Deep because it was a sinfully sexy story, but it was also satisfying to watch someone come to terms with their needs and sexuality. A man afraid of showing his identity and a woman willing to adhere to his wishes starts this couple on the road of a unique relationship. A plot full of twists and turns, a sexual awakening, and intriguing characters make this a very entertaining story.
It’s hard not to like the hero, Jason, after his unselfishness in the last book. Upon realizing his brother had fallen in love with the woman they shared, Jason removed himself from their ménage relationship and encouraged them to be honest with one another with their feelings. Yes, he was a little hurt but he also knew he wasn’t in love with Megan and he wanted his twin brother, Jeff, to be happy. After another break-up he begins to question his wants and needs and finds the answer in a most unusual place.

Carrie longs for a relationship with a dom to call her own. Months of looking have left her unsatisfied so when a couple she’s played with before offers to set her up with a friend of theirs, she decided to take a chance even with his unusual demands.

I appreciate the passion in which this couple pursued their BDSM partnership. It was powerful because of the fact Carrie didn’t know what Jason looked liked and she had to trust him with everything. Both being new to the lifestyle there was somewhat of a learning curve but I give them both credit for going after what they want and figuring out together how to make it work. What I loved is that even when they couldn’t be together in person, they had a connection that was just as intense for them both. Unfortunately, their worlds outside of the BDSM realm collide breaking their safe bubble and forcing them to reexamine their entire time together.

This was an intense but amazing journey for two people who no doubt belonged together but getting there was a rough road with many secrets and obstacles to overcome. The characters in Going Deep very much made this story stand out; their absolute need for one another was a thing of beauty making this book incredibly wonderful.

Wonder what happened to Jason, Jeff’s twin brother from Inside Heat (Mustangs Baseball #1)? This is his story. After Jeff gets together with Megan and Jason’s girlfriend breaks up with him Jason goes into a slump. He feels as if his life is out of control. He is in a batting slump and he has no clue as to what to do. A team mate listens to his tale of woe and takes him to The Dungeon a local BDSM club where Jason finds that there are other “control freaks” out there and he isn’t the “perve” his ex accused him of being or if he was he wasn’t alone. His buddy introduces him to Carrie. Keeping Carrie blindfolded and in the dark as to his identity suits Major League catcher Jason just fine while he figures out if being a Dom really is his thing. With the media circling like vultures as he works to get his career back on track, the last thing he needs is a sex scandal if things don’t work out. But keeping Carrie blindfolded doesn’t mean she is the only one in the dark. Can Jason get his career back and the girl?
Another terrific, sexy tale from Roz Lee. I fell a little in love with Jason in Inside Heat and felt sorry for him as Jeff and Morgan moved on with their relationship. This story could have gone total fluff but didn’t. I enjoyed the Holder boys stories and hope that maybe we will meet some of the other Mustangs in the future.

Ehhh...not for me. It didn’t get me hot and bothered, just bothered. Got to page 84 and when he was drawing on her body with markers and then used three of them to get her off, I was out. I try to read a few books from each section of the store and this genre isn’t my fav. Still isn’t. 2, not horrible but not for me, stars.

Wow good story! Of the 3 books so far this is my favourite one. Jason is so headstrong, cocky & loveable. Carrie is shy, reserved(until he gets his hands on her and searching for a forever she doesn't think she'll ever find. Being introduced by a fellow teammate & BDSM master they embark on a relationship that rival all others. Their relationship starts out anonymous but grows quickly. When Jason is about to reveal his true feelings all hell breaks loose in his life and Carrie is at the center of his destruction, causing their relationship to be torn apart. With his career and hi future in the balance Jason has to make some painful decisions to set the record straight. Can they find their way back form this disaster? Can Jason have the future he wants both professional & personal?

Steamy, BDSM, Club and sports romance
I received this paperback book as part of a swag package when I went to a Rom-Con a year or so back. Such a good book. Why did I take so long to read it?!
Jason Holder is many things: a major league catcher for the Texas Mustangs, a twin to Jeff, a pitcher on the Mustangs team and into the BDSM life but with no submissive. His game has gone to He!! because his last girlfriend had absolutely NO interest in the kinky things he wanted to do. He has a friend at the Club whose submissive has a friend. Jason is hesitant but he’s hoping for a connection. Wow! When they meet for the first time at the Club, Jason and Carrie hit it off quite nicely. Carrie is blindfolded to prevent her from seeing who her Master is until he’s sure of her. The wrong move here could be damaging to his career. What Jason doesn’t see coming and what Carrie is totally unaware of is that she’s got a job that could be much more damaging. Can’t give you any more information. You must read this steamy, scintillating book. Does Jason get his game back? Does he have other secrets? Does Carrie’s job make things difficult for the couple? I loved this book and if you like couples finding their way in a relationship with lots of steam in a BDSM way, read this book!

When Jacob realizes he has dominate traits he is not sure how to satisfy his needs while keeping his MLB stardom under wraps. That is until he finds Carrie, a sweet submissive who is willing to be with her Master while also being blindfolded. When the secret is revealed and their identities are known will this make or break the connection that they share? And what will happen when Jacob knows that Carrie is the reporter who is ruining his career? With great characters and a storyline that had me quickly turning the pages this was a wonderful second book in the series.

Jason has many secrets to keep

Jason is a famous major league catcher by day and a Dom by desire. He enters into the Sub/Dom scene but he has rules she must abide by. Carrie is new to the Sub scene and is a reporter by career. She's always blind folded so she never sees Jason's face. Things take a dramatic turn and implode their fledgling connection. It's heart breaking and heart warming to see them fight to be together.

I wanted to read Jason's story every since were introduced to him in the first book in the series and I was not disappointed even though I did like the first book a little bit better. The conflict between Carrie and Jason revolving around Carries report on steroids was resolved too quickly. I felt more could have been done with this plot point. Despite this one criticism I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next books in the series.

Jason is a professional baseball player who just got out of a relationship because the girl he was with was not into what he wanted in the bedroom. So when she left he went to a friend who found out what he wanted and he then met his submissive. He just thought that he could keep his professional and private life separate. But he never knew how wrong he was.
Carrie is a freelance reporter who works from home most of the time. The other time she is looking for the perfect man to fit her needs. She loves being dominated and she needs someone who can provide that for her. Through a friend of hers she does meet a man. And she was in complete agreement that their private lives need to be kept separate from their professional ones. That way no one would get hurt. She never knew that by doing that her two words would meet and she would be in love.
In the begining both Jason and Carrie agreed to keep things between them as private as they can be. She was to wear a blindfold and not remove it until she knew he was gone. She knew that he was just being cautious with himself and with her. So that nothing would be made public until he was comfortable enough to change it. This was way gone on for a few months. It was the best time both of them had, Jason improved with his baseball skills and Carrie started to have feelings for Jason. All in all they were quite happy.
But like in any book something happens to their happiness. There was something that Carrie wrote that put Jason in the wrong in the eyes of the press and baseball fanatics. He never knew it was her until on the night they met and he was going to let her out of their relationship. He did not want her involved in the press in anyway; he wanted to protect the best things that have happened to him. Carrie never knew who her Sir was until that night when he confessed what was going on and why he let her go. She wanted to be the one to fix things but knew she could not.
After the whole big blow up with the press Jason and Carrie did not see each other for a while, and both were miserable without the other. It came to the point where Jason’s brother and sister-in-law intervened and made him wake up. Once Carrie and Jason were reunited, everything was better. They were happier and Jason made sure that Carrie would never leave him again.
I liked how the author wrote her book. It actually took me a little while to figure out how there would be a problem with her characters being together. But I loved how that was written in. it made the book flow better and brought a new understanding about being honest in a relationship.
I do recommend this book to others. It has drama, romance and kink. It is the best of all worlds. I cannot wait to find out what else the author has written and read those books as well.

This is the story of Jason and Carrie. Jason discovers his calling as a Dom and Carrie is finally able to find her submissive self with him. It is all going well, but perhaps Jason's need to control everything will clash with Carrie's need to make sense of a past tragedy.
I have no idea whether the descriptions of the BDSM club and scenes have any kernels of reality, but I do doubt that love is found so often between partners within them. (That said I love werewolf books and I don't think they have any kernels of reality!)
I have the rest of the books in the series to enjoy, so I will catch you later.

I was not a fan of Going Deep by Ms. Lee. Jason wasn't convincing as a Dom, he was so needy & clingy and it felt like he and Carrie were just play acting throughout the book. Carrie was more convincing as a sub, but honestly, the blindfold thing during 90% of their "relationship" completely turned me off. The sexual heat was there, but there was zero personal connection between the two. So then of course they went ahead & fell in love but know NOTHING about each other except how they like their sex! He's ready to propose but doesn't know her full name & occupation? Toward the end, when Jason asks Carrie to move in w/ her...HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HER PHONE NUMBER! Jason also didn't seem like the kind of man who would want a woman submitting 24-7, but it looked to me like that was the way their relationship was headed, Carrie barely uttered his first name the entire book. I didn't feel like there was any romance, just weak and contrived bondage scenes that were way overdone and gratuitous (seriously, how many times can the words butt plug and orgasm and submit be uttered in one book!!). The only redeeming qualities about Going Deep were the interactions with Jason's twin Jeff and his wife Megan. Those were much more realistic than any other part of this book.

I'm usually a fan of hard or soft BDSM books, and I'm definitely a fan of hot baseball players, but this story just did not make any sense to me. I'm looking at all these great reviews and wondering if there was some major plot point that I missed that would make their out of the bedroom relationship clear. Nope.

If you liked 50 Shades, you'll love this book.

This was a well-written and emotionally compelling book, with a wonderful dilemma for the hero and heroine, created by the inherent conflict between Jason's job as a MLB baseball player (though Carrie doesn't know his identity), and Carrington (or Carradine's?) job as a reporter (though Jason doesn't know HER day job) hot on the trail of the steroids abuse story.

I'm personally over the whole Master/spanking/flogging/nipple clamp thing, so for ME, scenes involving any of the above felt tedious, and I flipped through them to get to the good parts. But even for me there were enough hot sexy good parts to make it an excellent read, and plenty of funny parts, too. I loved that the author has Jason discuss his former girlfriend, who absolutely ADORED and could not put down a certain popular (but unnamed, in Going Deep) BDSM series, yet when she read aloud parts of it to him, and he indicated that *if* she wanted, he would be willing to do some of that with her, she called him a pervert and couldn't dump him fast enough. I suspect that this is true to life for many fans of said series - reading about it is one thing, actually DOING it - oh, hell no!

We get slices of happy BDSM couple Todd and Brooke (who have their own short story, Free Agent), and Jeff and Megan (from menage novel Inside Heat), but this book works well as a stand-alone without reading either of those (though you'll want to).

This is yummy, sexy book 2 in Roz Lee's Mustang's Baseball series. Jason Holder is feeling lost. His twin brother married the woman they used to share, his current girlfriend moved out when he expressed interest in some of the kink she was reading about in a popular novel, and he's in a hitting slump. He starts talking to one of his teammates, Todd, who hears something in Jason's voice, and invites him to a BDSM club. After touring the club and participating in a scene with Todd and his sub, Brooke, Jason decides he'd like to know more about his lifestyle - it feels comfortable to him. However, he is worried about what would happen if the media got wind of this, so he's very cautious.

Carrie is an investigative reporter who has been looking for a dom, but hasn't had any luck. She has played a few times with Brooke and Todd, and they both think Carrie and Jason might make a nice match. Jason has some rules, though. She must be blindfolded when they meet and he can't know who he is. Carrie reluctantly agrees to the stipulations, and they meet at the club. They begin their relationship and start to explore the BDSM lifestyle together. A story Carrie is working on inadvertently involves Jason (she still doesn't know who he is), disrupting their burgeoning love and Jason's career.
Can't wait to read the next installment!

We first read about the Holder brothers, twins Jeff & Jason in Jeff's story Inside Heat. Going Deep is Jason's story. Jason having his latest girlfriend break up with him because he wanted to tie her up during sex......has him in a slump, both on and off the baseball field. When he confides to a fellow team mate, he's introduced to the world of BDSM club The Dungeon.

Carrie, an investigative reporter and a submissive.....she is seeking a Dom to master her wants and needs. When Jason is introduced to his new sub, he's intrigued by her beauty. Jason wants to keep his identity private, so he insists Carrie be blindfolded during their sessions at the Dungeon.

I really liked these characters. They both connected with each other in the world they're both comfortable in. Their feelings for each other are tested for how strong they really are. Will the extreme love the Dom and sub have survive so they can be together forever?.....read this extremely steamy love story to find out! Even if BDSM isn't your bag, this is a great story!

At the end of INSIDE HEAT my heart broke for Jason as he struggled with his rudderless personal life. Watching his twin find happiness with Megan and get his career back on track should have made him ecstatic, and for a while it did; but Jason is in a slump and his own career is suffering.

After the sudden end to his relationship with Stacey due to his interest in the darker side of sex, Jason confides in a team-mate and is surprised to discover Todd not only shares his BDSM tendencies, but actually acts them out.

With the help of Todd and his sub Brooke, Jason finds Carrie…….the perfect woman. But Jason is always mindful of scandal and unable to trust at face value, so he ensures that Carrie will not know his identity until he is ready.

What follows is a beautiful, passionate and intense relationship until Jason’s biggest fear – scandal, rocks his and Carrie’s world.

Once again Roz Lee has portrayal her characters with a depth of emotion that leaves the reader eager for more. Jason and Carrie are definitely my favourite couple so far, and their story is amazing!

This is Jason's story. Teammate Todd has him spilling his guts as to what is wrong and how it is affecting his batting. Todd suggests that he go to the Dungeon and sets Jason up with a sub. Carrie is perfect for him although he does not let her see him. She knows him from his actions and his touch. Turns out that Carrie is a journalist who puts Jason's career in jeopardy.

I liked Jason and Carrie. She is innocent in many ways. Jason is learning and learns the hard way how important honesty and openness are in the BDSM relationship. The sex is hot but done right. I loved the opposing points of view. It rounds out the story and made me root that they could work out their differences. I felt their pain. I understood Jason's reluctance. I enjoyed seeing Jeff and Megan again and seeing what was happening with them.

Cannot wait to read the rest of the series. Well done.

This was an enjoyable, if somewhat predictable, story in which Jason Holder finds his life partner in Carrie. Too bad he's a professional baseball player and she's an investigative reporter looking into steroid use. And she's never seen his face, because he blindfolds her at the club where they meet, wary of the impact the story of his BDSM lifestyle could have on his career.

It's a pretty good set up for a plot line, and it works to a degree. It could have been further exploited and had more devastating and long-lasting impact on their lives, but the author chose not to take it in that direction and I can live with that. Jason and Carrie, two BDSM newbies, seemed to fall into the lifestyle with little problem - unrealistically so - but this is fiction, after all. At the end of the day, I was happy to see Jason and Carrie get their happy ending - it worked for me!

Contrary to other reviews, this is not FSOG part iv. It does reference FSOG, but does so in a respectful way, cultural iconic way. I LOVED this book and thought that the blindfolded relationship was interesting to say the least. I completely understand Jason's desire to keep his personal life personal and his need to keep Carrie blindfolded to do just that.

I thought the secondary story about the steroid use was interesting and Carrie's part in it to be more than ironic. I would recommed his book. And the other books by Ms. Lee in this series. They only get hotter from here.

This is Jason's story, Jeff's twin brother from Inside Heat. Each book stands alone but read them in order. This book totally fascinated me. I totally bought into Jason's introduction to the whole bdsm scene and he and Carrie's dom/sub relationship. This was even hotter then Inside Heat, and I didnt think that would be possible. I am definitely a Roz Lee fan.

Going Beep is a romantic, hot, funny read that made a great edition to the Mustang Baseball series. Jason is looking to find his missing link, knowing in his heart what he needs can be found in a certain sub, or will she challenge him all the way? Here's a case where the free teaser worked. I read Free Agent and then paid for and devoured the rest of the series in short order. Yeah, there are things I could quibble about, but I had too much fun reading the series to get hung up on those aspects.

This book was intense. Jason and Carrie were HOT together! Carrie had a lot of trust in Jason from the beginning. Jason had to learn to trust Carrie and watching these two work through everything that happened between them was really interesting! I am enjoying this series!
